Hannah Waddingham called out a photographer at the Olivier Awards who apparently asked her to “show leg” as she posed for pictures.
The Emmy-winning Ted Lasso star hosted the London theatre awards on Sunday night and before the gong-giving got underway she walked the steps of the Royal Albert Hall.
As she stopped for photos, Waddingham confronted a snapper after hearing a comment about her legs, according to a video posted by a fan account.
“Oh my God, you’d never say that to a man,” Waddingham said. “Don’t be a dick otherwise I’ll move off. Don’t say ‘show me leg.’ No.”
The actress then shook her head and walked off. She continued to exchange words with the photographer as she moved on, raising her finger.

In a very unsettled drama Emmy field, one of the few ostensible locks this year is Elizabeth Debicki. With 4/1 odds, she is the runaway favorite to take home the Best Drama Supporting Actress Emmy for her turn as Princess Diana on “The Crown,” which would make the Netflix series the sixth show to deliver two different winners in the category.
Twelve shows have won drama supporting actress more than once. Of those, seven shows have had one person triumph repeatedly, including “Lou Grant” for Nancy Marchand, who won a record four times, and most recently “Ozark” for three-time champ Julia Garner. The five shows that saw the wealth spread among its cast members are “St. Elsewhere”, “The West Wing”, “Hill Street Blues”, “The Practice” and “thirtysomething”. No show has had more than two cast members win the award.
Interestingly, Marchand (1980-82; her first win was in ’78), Roberts (1983), Woodard (1984), Thomas (1985), Bartlett...

Emma Stone became the lucky 13th two-time Best Actress Oscar champ with her recent win for “Poor Things.” And she could well be adding an Emmy to her awards collection for her leading role in Showtime’s idiosyncratic drama series “The Curse.”
“The Curse,” created by Nathan Fielder and Benny Safdie, follows a newly married couple (Stone and Fielder) who host an HGTV show while trying to conceive a baby and navigate a curse. Sure the series is rich in cringe comedy that is hard to tear your eyes from even if you watch through your fingers. But it is also intelligent, dark and surprisingly moving. At the heart of it all is Stone, who delivers yet another tour de force, as noted by critics.

The 30th Screen Actors Guild Awards went largely according to script Saturday night on Netflix, but with just enough surprises to keep things interesting. (See the SAG winners list.) Here are five key takeaways from this year’s ceremony.
1. Subtle performances dominate film categories.
While we’ve seen quieter portrayals have greater success at the Oscars in recent years, the guild has generally still gone with flashier performances. This year, Lily Gladstone in “Killers of the Flower Moon,” Cillian Murphy in “Oppenheimer” and Da’Vine Joy Randolph in “The Holdovers” managed to land SAG trophies for their relatively subdued acting — especially in comparison to some of their show-stopping rivals. Perhaps guild members are following the lead of the academy and realizing that less is sometimes more when it comes to fine dramatics.

Oscar prognosticators may have been keeping a close eye on the 2024 SAG Awards to see what this year’s film wins could mean for the 2024 Academy Awards, but it was in the TV categories where arguably the biggest surprises occurred.
After winning multiple trophies at the Golden Globes, Critics Choice Awards and Emmys last month for its third and final season, Succession, which led the SAG Awards TV nods with five, seemed like the likely big winner heading into Saturday’s show. But instead the HBO drama only took home one award, albeit for the top TV prize of best drama ensemble. But after Kieran Culkin and Sarah Snook won best actor and actress in a drama series at the Golden Globes, Critics Choice Awards and Emmys, within the span of 10 days in January, it was surprising that both lost in their respective SAG Awards categories.

Ok, so maybe it was a good idea for Lily Gladstone to go lead after all.
The elegant “Killers of the Flower Moon” star went from possibly-forgotten-awards-season-afterthought to Oscar frontrunner in the space of a few moments at tonight’s 30th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards, and what was widely predicted to be another jewel in Emma Stone’s march to the Academy Awards crown for “Poor Things” hit not just a roadblock but a brick wall – demonstrating just how quickly narratives can be rewritten and fortunes can change.
The upset win brought a burst of excitement to an awards show that perhaps featured more pizzazz than expected going in. And some of that came, somewhat shockingly, on the television side, even as “The Bear” and “Beef” marched to ho-hum predicted victories. Jeremy Allen White continued his unblemished awards record (it was his second SAG trophy in as many years...

Oppenheimer and TV’s The Bear were the big winners at the 30th Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards on Saturday (February 24), which streamed live on Netflix in a first for the platform.
Oppenheimer won best cast as lead male actor winner and Oscar favourite Cillian Murphy and his ‘Oppenhomies’ filled the stage at Los Angeles’ Shrine Auditorium & Expo Hall at the climax of the show, setting up Universal’s blockbuster for a potentially huge weekend ahead of Sunday’s PGA Awards. The 2024 Screen Actors Guild Awards have wrapped, and the full SAG winners list shows momentum for Lily Gladstone in the Best Actress race at the Oscars — as well as for “Oppenheimer” and its very possible march toward Best Picture.
“Barbie” and “Oppenheimer” led the nominations when they were announced January 10 with four each. “Oppenheimer” ended up winning the most of any film, with three prizes: Best Cast (the top prize), Best Actor Cillian Murphy, and Best Supporting Actor Robert Downey Jr. “Barbie” went home empty-handed.
Lily Gladstone won Best Actress for “Killers of the Flower Moon” over Emma Stone for “Poor Things,” who won the prize at the Golden Globes and Critics Choice Awards. Da’Vine Joy Randolph won the SAG Award for Best Supporting Actress for “The Holdovers,” and has pretty much swept that category at every awards show this season.

Oppenheimer won the marquee Cast in a Motion Picture prize as the 30th annual SAG Awards were presented Saturday, and its star Cillian Murphy might have wrestled Oscar front-runner status away from Paul Giamatti by taking the trophy for Male Actor in a Leading Role.
Lily Gladstone was cemented as the favorite for the Best Actress Oscar, winning Female Actor in a Leading Role for Killers of the Flower Moon at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles in a ceremony streaming live on Netflix for the first time.

Despite its actors dominating recent awards shows like the Emmys, Golden Globes and Critics Choice Awards, “Succession” ended its run at Saturday’s SAG Awards having never won an individual trophy. (See the SAG winner’s list.) Four of its actors were nominated for this fourth and final season: Sarah Snook (as Shiv Roy) for best drama actress, and Brian Cox (as Logan Roy), Kieran Culkin (as Roman Roy) and Matthew Macfadyen (as Tom Wambsgans) for best drama actor. But they ended up losing to Elizabeth Debicki ( as Princess Diana) of “The Crown” and Pedro Pascal (as Joel) on “The Last of Us,” respectively. Not to be outdone, the “Succession” cast still did win the drama ensemble prize for the second time at the end of the night.

“Oppenheimer” dominated the 30th Screen Actors Guild Awards on Saturday, winning the prize for best cast, as well as statues for Cillian Murphy’s lead performance and Robert Downey Jr.’s supporting work. The drama about J. Robert Oppenheimer and the development of the atomic bomb was an unexpected box office hit last summer and is considered a front-runner for next month’s Academy Awards.
The cast of HBO’s “Succession” was named best ensemble in a drama series for successfully pulling off their final season of familial power-grabbing and back-stabbing, while FX’s “The Bear,” a pressure-cooker look at restaurant life, earned a best comedy series ensemble prize. It was a free-wheeling night of surprises, sure-things and plenty of f-bombs, as many of the winners spoke frankly about the struggles and sacrifices that characterize a life in the arts.

The 30th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards took place in Los Angeles on Saturday evening, with not too many surprises in the mix leading up to Oscar night on March 10.
“Oppenheimer” and Cillian Murphy got another Oscar boost, picking up the ensemble award and leading actor in a motion picture for the title role after Murphy won the BAFTA in the same category last weekend. Lily Gladstone won leading actress for “Killers of the Flower Moon.”
So far this awards season, “Oppenheimer” has won everything it was expected to win – and at the SAG Awards, it added a big prize for which it hadn’t been the strong favorite, taking down “Barbie” and “American Fiction” to win an award that had supplied evidence of an Oscar upset in the making a few times in the past. While there remains plenty of suspense surrounding the SAG Awards film categories at the ceremony taking place at the Shrine Auditorium & Expo Hall this Saturday at 5 p.m. Pst/8 p.m. Est (streaming over Netflix), there is decidedly less drama when it comes to the TV categories. It’s simply a fact. At least, this is the way Gold Derby senior editors Denton Davidson, Daniel Montgomery and Marcus James Dixon, news and features editor Ray Richmond and encyclopedic awards expert extraordinaire Tariq Khan saw it during their SAG Awards TV category predictions slugfest this week. The consensus is that “Succession” will sweep the three TV drama categories, “The Bear” the three comedy categories and “Beef” the limited series/TV pair. There may be some non-“Bear” wiggle room in at least one category. More on that in a moment. Watch the editors’ colorful discussion above.

After what has been an incredibly predictable awards season for television in the last month with all the previous ceremonies checking “Succession,” “The Bear” and “Beef” down the line, it would make sense to presume that the Screen Actors Guild Awards this weekend will just follow the herd and honor the same champs. But lest we forget, we have seen time and time again where SAG-AFTRA does their own thing and sometimes yields surprising results, stopping some actors and shows in their tracks that have been on a roll. Read below for some recent shocking TV winners at the SAG Awards and what it could mean this year.
Beginning with last year’s ceremony, the two limited series/television movie acting winners were way off course of who was expected to triumph. For best actress, Amanda Seyfried was sweeping all the televised awards for “The Dropout” and was expected to complete the run with SAG,...

At the recent 2023 Emmy Awards — which were presented just last month — HBO’s “Succession” and FX’s “The Bear” dominated the night winning six awards each at the Primetime ceremony. Our official odds predict that both shows will continue sweeping this winter awards season at the 30th Screen Actors Guild Awards, which will be handed out on Saturday, Feb. 24 on Netflix. See a complete list of predicted winners organized by TV series below.
“Succession” enters the SAG Awards with the most nominations of the year with five citations, and our users expect it will win three of those awards for Best Drama Ensemble, Best Actor for Kieran Culkin and Best Actress for Sarah Snook. That would be the best showing for the series ever, as the concluded drama has only ever won once before back in 2022 for Drama Ensemble. “The Bear” is just one nomination shy of “Succession” with four...

Exclusive: Succession’s Sarah Snook, now the toast of the town for her dazzling one-woman performance playing 26 characters in a breathtakingly innovative staging of Oscar Wilde’s The Picture of Dorian Gray, will likely head to Broadway early in 2025 once she’s had a break, and if she wants to do it.
There are tentative, in no way definite, plans for the production to be filmed for the National Theatre’s Nt Live.
Look, movies and television are great art forms, and I love ‘em to bits like everybody else, but nothing beats watching an artist at the top of their craft live on a theatre stage. And in Snook’s case in The Picture of Dorian Gray, she’s able to command every inch of the Theatre Royal Haymarket stage.

If Sarah Snook felt at all concerned about how to follow her career-defining, award-winning turn as Shiv Roy on Succession, a fear of ever reaching such heights again, of even coming close to filling that professional hole, then she must now feel rather blessed — if also, every night, unbelievably exhausted.
Snook returns to the London stage for the first time since 2016, when, pre-Shiv, the relatively unknown Australian actress shone opposite Ralph Fiennes in The Master Builder. Now, she carries the massive weight of Kip Williams’ bravura adaptation of Oscar Wilde’s only novel. Snook plays not just the eternally young but damnably debauched Dorian Gray, but every one of the 26 parts in two unbroken hours of ceaselessly kinetic, highly choreographed, tech-heavy action. And she’s phenomenal.

Sarah Snook said during an interview on Times Radio that her “Succession” co-star Brian Cox had a habit of outbursts on set fueled by his Type 2 diabetes. Snook, who recently won an Emmy for playing Shiv Roy on the final season of “Succession,” said Cox’s voice could get “terrifying sometimes” during these moments of rage.
“He has a habit of sometimes going into a false — or could it be real, who knows? — diabetic rage,” Snook said. “I think part of it’s a little of trying to just jolt the energy of the set and rustle a few feathers, get it going and moving faster. The quality of his voice can be very terrifying sometimes. Thunderous.”

Snook, who won an Emmy for her role as Shiv on the hit HBO comedy-drama, recently appeared on Times Radio and was asked what it was like working with Cox, who played her on-screen father, Logan Roy. “He has a habit of sometimes going into a false — or could it be real, who knows? — diabetic rage, where he’ll go [growl] all of a sudden,” Snook shared, per Deadline. “I think part of it’s a little of trying to just jolt the energy of the set and rustle a few feathers, get it going and moving faster,” she added. “The quality of his voice can be very terrifying sometimes, for sure. Thunderous.” This isn’t the first time Succession cast members...

Sarah Snook has revealed that Brian Cox was capable of channeling Logan Roy, even when he was not in character as the menacing media baron in HBO’s Succession.
The Australian actress, who clinched an Emmy for her portrayal of Logan’s daughter Shiv in the final season of Succession, said Cox would test the energy on set with “thunderous” outbursts.
Speaking to Mariella Frostrup on Times Radio, Snook laughed: “He has a habit of sometimes going into a false — or could it be real, who knows? — diabetic rage, where he’ll go [growl] all of a sudden.

“The Crown” is gearing up for its last hurrah at the SAG Awards, an organization that has bestowed a number of prizes onto the Netflix regal show over the years. It claimed the highly coveted TV drama ensemble prize twice (2019 and ’20), while individual winners through the years were Claire Foy (2016 and ’17), John Lithgow (2016) and Gillian Anderson (2020). Now the sixth and final season is hoping to prevail for a third time, which would tie it with “Downton Abbey” in this category at three total wins.
Season 6 faces off in the TV drama ensemble race against fellow nominees “The Gilded Age,” “The Last of Us,” “The Morning Show” and “Succession.” Elizabeth Debicki is “The Crown’s” only solo acting nominee this year, with her co-nominees in the TV drama actress category being Jennifer Aniston (“The Morning Show”), Bella Ramsey (“The Last of Us”), Keri Russell (“The Diplomat”) and Sarah Snook (“Succession”).
