I'm cancelling Hulu for recommending this

I don't know what bothers me more: that I actually spent an entire hour (how long I was able to get thru the movie) or that Hulu had the gal to have this movie showcased in my recommendations.

I rarely give 1 star reviews. This may be my 3rd (out of a few dozen) one. But it deserves it. Actually, it doesn't. It doesn't deserve the one star. It owes ME stars!

Please don't watch this. I won't waste any time taking about the plot, or the acting, or the cinematography, or the directing, or the sound effects. It was awful. All of it. Not one redeeming quality.

Again, take my advice and pass on this one.

I really tried to like it

This is the first review I have ever written, but I just need to warn people. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME. My mom and I watched for almost an hour in complete confusion, waiting for something to happen that would make it all make sense, but that didn't happen. It wasn't scary, there was no plot, the acting was mediocre at best, and overall, it was just incredibly boring. You know how some horror movies are so bad they're entertaining, well this isn't one of those. It's so bad that it's intolerable. The underground music festival atmosphere had so much potential, and it was almost a crime to see it butchered this badly. In conclusion, seriously don't waste your time, I'm genuinely angry that I did.

Confusing, weird, and a complete waste of my time

The first 15 minutes of this movie are fairly typical of a low-budget horror film. They introduce the main characters, add some family drama, a bit of peer pressure, and the character who is secretly crushing on his best friend. Fast forward to when the main characters get to the nightclub and it all goes downhill. Each minute that passed, I just became more and more confused. Aside from the plot making no sense, the characters are not realistic in the slightest. Don't watch this movie!!!

It Sucked

So first off, one of my quirks is that I absolutely love bad movies. They are a guilty pleasure. I can watch "Baseketball" over and over because it makes me laugh even though it's an awful movie. But this movie... holy crap this dumpster fire of a movie needs to be buried. No, that's not good enough, since someone in the future could discover it like a time capsule and think this is how our civilization made movies. It should never been made.

The acting is so bad it's not even laughable. The writing is also bad, with quips about Mitch McConnell and shopping at Target... gah, just writing about it makes my frontal lobe throb. I'm sure the actors tried their hardest, or maybe not, it's impossible to tell. Any rando could have been inserted as an actor and it would have accomplished the same thing, honestly. The characters are so terrible that you are happy they are killed off (in really stupid ways), because that means the movie is that much closer to being done. Mercifully.

Someone wrote a review saying they would cancel Hulu for recommending this atrocity. I just might do that. This should be outlawed by the Geneva Convention. I would rather pass a kidney stone than watch this movie again.

This is an odd movie. The cast is clearly trying their best, some are better than others. The cast is over all a mixed bag talent wise but nobody is awful. That said, nobody acts like real people or talks like humans. Overall it seems like the makes of this movie don't understand how anything functions or how things work in general. It's like the movie was made by aliens with only a basic understanding of the world. The movies a bit slow and not in a good way, I'd give this one a miss it I were you. There are better slasher movies out there and they have dumb hot people in them too.

This was supposed to be a horror movie. It wasn't scary. And it was boring. Nothing in this movie was inspired-from the dialogue to the kill scenes. Skip this one unless you want your zzzz's...

A writing mess

When two sisters and their friends reunite, they go out for clubbing to have some fun. After hours of clubbing Pierce disappears after following Travis, a dj called Dreamcatcher in his room. As soon as her friends and her sister find her , Pierce commits suicide in front of them. Travis' manager decides to pay them in order to keep their mouths shut about the accident to avoid any damage to her client career. Unfortunately more people are starting to die and they start to suspect that something is wrong. I got to say from the start that dreamcatcher is a writing mess. At first It might seem your average hack and slash movie to pass the time but it quickly becomes a train wreck. Without spoiling too much after some time it looks like the writers didn't know what to do with the film and decide to do whatever. The only good point in the film i could find is that some characters are smart and well developed which is very unusual for a film like this. Unfortunately that alone cannot save this disaster from doom since the script looks like it was written by people on various substances. Not recommended.

Watch ANYTHING else...This is terrible. Don't get sucked in by the creepy mask.

I never write reviews for movie/tv whatever but this is just That Bad. By far the worst horror movie, any movie I've ever seen. A good name, a good mask and THAT'S IT. Someone should take that and overhaul the whole thing. I'm not even sure what the hell I just watched... Its NOT scary, just weird and confusing, and not in a good way. I can't believe I watched all the way through. It's not worth the time to try and connect the indiscernible plot lines to the underdeveloped background. Unless you just say hmm the guy/girl/both was probably just high+sensory overloaded and imagined the whole thing, and/or then killed everyone...that's a stupid storyline but would be 20x better than what was actually attempted. And I actually LIKE weird/different, even sometimes cheesy horror+slasher films that most horror slasher fans prob wouldn't. But this has made me want to check reviews of movies first so I don't ever have to watch something even close to this awful again. It doesn't even have any good death scenes. Seriously, Scooby Doo is scarier.

The only reason anyone should watch this is so they could even start to understand how truly awful it is because it's beyond words.

Sorry for the rambling..I guess.watching this has made my brain want to shut down. Save yourself and watch literally anything else.

This is my first time ever writing a review, but this is by far one of the worst movies I have ever seen. The acting is atrocious and I truly believe the only way that I could even understand the film is if I was high on molly.

The beginning begins as most slasher films, the main characters go to an unsafe place. The beginning has to have drama between the main character and her sister (they have to say 5 times that she's in med school). They go to a club, clubbing happens, the female has to have a fight with her sister because the movie has to movie. She decides to go to the "Dreamcatcher" (a dj at the club) and pops some drugs and commits suicide. The characters observe and his manager tells them that she'll pay them $50,000 each or "will ruin them" because she's done it more than "Mitch McConnell" because she recorded it and can "edit it". One character who is apparently a lawyer says "you won't get away with this". Yet somehow forget that they have cell phones and can simply call the police, but you know, movie. I truly do not know what I even watched, the characters are much more dumb than the typical horror film. DO NOT watch this!

If you are obsessed with horror films,,,THIS IS A MUST SEE!

3/10 - weak acting and storytelling made this a complete and utter waste of a really cool setting for a slasher and left me hopeful that another (better) slasher will come along and take advantage of the underground music festival setting as its killer's playground.

I created an account simply to give people the warning I wish I had for this movie DO NOT WATCH AND DO NOT BUY.

I've always been a fan of horror and this one is a complete and utter miss if you ask me. The acting is quite alien and forced, the characters actions frustratingly stupid and illogical at times and the characters themselves are all incredibly boring at best and hatable at worst. Now In some horror this works in the viewers favour because the movie is made more enjoyable counting the minutes for their brutal deaths, but there's hardly any killing, when it does happen it's unexciting and most of the movie is spent with the directors trying to be artistic in ways that just make you want them to get on with it or skip ahead. Which I admit I did. I tried to give it a go since my family had paid money to watch it, but halfway through I started to skip to get on to the plot and the promised horror. However even when the killing happened, and the big twist I was left unsatisfied and wishing I had given up earlier on the movie if it was just going to be this bland anyway.

Pierce (Niki Koss ) and her sister Ivy (Elizabeth Posey ) go to an all night Rave with some friends. Pierce meets Dylan (Travis Burns) the headliner DJ and takes his magic pill. Dylan tells her a Faustian tale of selling his soul to the devil so he could be a DJ. I guess the talent of being able to place a needle on record has been lost. When one in the group commits suicide, the rest are told they will be paid off if they come back the next day. We know from the opening scene, a guy in a bird mask plans on killing them.

The film was a bit messed up. Niki Koss is set up to the final girl, but her occult background was not developed very well, but was given to us in a blurb by Ivy. Jake (Zachary Gordon ) was perhaps the best developed, but I didn't care for him. It has a good skeleton plot, but needed better direction, dialogue, and acting.

Guide" F-word. Sex. No nudity.

Senseless movie The idea must be good at is birth, but that's all. The realization of the movie is nothing less than awful!

Some characters just appear from nowhere, changing the plot, the male characters are all standard model and all of sudden someone new appear and you don't even notice, Brewster the irrelevance is so big that you think it's the same last boring character Not recommended at all Best watch Sharknado, more funny.

Pretty sure I'm done with Hulu after watching this trash.

Boring, predictable, waste of time. Doesn't make any sense and the story is lacking heavily. I wouldn't waste your time. And Hulu should know better then to recommend this 2.0/10. Best thing about it, is the title of the movie.

Atrociously horrorable flick. Yeah you see what I did there. A ten year old child could of come up with a better dialogue and script. You won't make it 7 1/2 minutes into this one.

The characters are unlikeable, even after you're supposed to feel sorry for them. And not just a kind of unlikeable, they're poorly written and flat characters. They all make dumb decisions, or do really stupid things that only happen when you're following a script that is in turn just following tropes (and one of those tropes is that in a post credit scene, they kill a barely related, unnamed, gay character. For... No reason).

Add to that a barely registered supernatural element that pops up, disappears, and the then re-emerges only at the finale while being mixed in with mundane and pedantic monologue-ing, and you have a mess. This element, by the way appears to be Native American, but the primary slasher weapon of choice is a karambit, a knife found in Indonesia. Just... Why mash the two together? (That is by FAR the least of this movies problems, but it just seems especially needless.)

Fill in the gaps with a dash of plot holes, a smidge of loose ends, and a heaping portion of poor explanation and you have "Dreamcatcher."

It might not be the WORST movie ever, but it's not worth it.

It's rare for movies to leave me speechless but as the credits rolled on this film, I was truly at a loss for words. The only redeeming quality was the buildup of the killer reveal. The dialogue was grating, the acting was undercooked and the plot was as scattered as a Jackson Pollock. Some good jump scares (more like whimpers, though). Can't even recommend to see it on the basis of "so bad it's good". Just don't bother.

There is nothing about this film that actually makes any sense. The writing is juvenile and offensive to anyone watching. The direction is as frustrating as the acting and the camerawork which attempts to create atmosphere by shaking its way though the whole thing because the acting and the actors are more wooden than piece of four by two. The whole thing leaves a butter taste in your mouth.

I have seen dog doo doo with more life and meaning. What a waste of time and money.

This dream should be let go

Look, if you HAVE to denote in the end titles which one is "the killer," that probably should be a red flag.

Set during an indoor music concert, featuring DJ Dreamcatcher (seen on poster), who's kinda a #Deadmaus wannabe. Pierce (Niki Koss) is hanging out w/ BFF Jake (Zachary Gordon) would like out of the friend zone, watching a #horrorfilm. When sister Ivy (Elizabeth Posey) & BF Breken show up, they surprise our #movie watchers w/ tix to a sold out music festival, Cataclysm. So, they all trek out. Pierce rubs it in her ex Hunter's Blaine KernIII, who then turns around & calls in favors to attend too, bringing his new girl Raye Olivia Sui.

Things go very bad when Pierce is invited backstage w/ the DJ & manages to overdose & die. Josephine, the agent, forces everyone to cover up the death, requiring them all to come back on day 2 to get paid off (they are not getting paid off).

Raye, who claims to be a lawyer, is the 1st to go. Then we're in familiar slasher film territory, until Act 3, where the film cheats. I won't spoil it, but it's egregious. Not only is someone not dead, but there's now some sort of demonic possession! This is the last 10 minutes! & yes, I skipped over the outing of 1 character as gay all of a sudden because so does the writer/director Jacob Johnston.

I put it on my list to see because of Posey, who is good in "Heels." Go watch that. There's 95% less quoting of Hamlet in that show than there is here. Before you ask, no, Hamlet is not relevant to the plot at all.

Steaming pile of garbage. Boring uninterested plot. Boring kills, and usually if your a horror fan you will subject yourself to some bad movies and most of the time get a good laugh out of it, maybe even a few good kills and practical effects. Thats a hard negative on this one bud. This movie isnt even laughably bad, just bad. Forgettable characters that you could care less if they make it or not, as well as terrible writing. If your bored and want something to watch, go watch paint dry. You will enjoy that more.
