Brilliant as ever.

Hard hitting, definitely not PC, a welcome in the age of the snowflake. His delivery and stage presence are as good as ever flowing seamlessly and the show seems to go by in a flash. One of the best stand up performances I've seen in recent memory. Great stuff.

Good could be better

One of the better Netflix original stand ups and had me laughing in the most part compared to a lot of the rubbish. Have seen Ricky before though and he can be even better and felt like he'd toned it down a little for Netflix also. Still overall well worth the watch.

Not for the easily offended

Starts a little slow but Ricky Gervais is a genius in Humanity. If you are easily offended you probably don't like Ricky Gervais anyway so if you are a fan it's a must see. I laughed out loud for most of this. Enjoy!

Ricky, you're exactly what we need in this day and age

The always irreverent, always in-your-face Ricky Gervais talks about a number of topics in "Ricky Gervais: Humanity": celebrities, animal rights and the general question of what should get considered funny. My favorite part was his comment on the angry tweet that he got from a fundamentalist Christian.

It's times like these that make Gervais more necessary than ever (along with Michelle Wolf, and the other comedians who tear down ignorance). I hope to see a lot more from him!

Can't remember the last time I laughed consistently during an entire stand-up set!

Ricky Gervais definitely made an impact on my 2019, with his fantastic series 'After Life' and with his stand-up routine Humanity. In the latter, Ricky humorously talks about one of his favourite subjects to make fun of, people. And he's great at it, the guy has a natural talent to accurately describe some of the most annoying traits and features of different people, and do it so abrasively, sometimes even with a hint of bitterness, by being caustic and always delivering recklessly his usual sharp tongue.

His total disregard and indifference towards humanity is what shocks many of his poor detractors. I mean poor because he's actually right, you can joke about anything, and that you have to be aware of the target of the joke, meaning you can joke about race without being racist and joke about the sexes without being sexist. So before you judge a joke you have to be able to tell when Ricky's being honest about something or when he is just being sarcastic, or just plain despicable for comical effect.

There are countless little jokes inside each bit that make this a hilarious, must-see stand-up special. Ricky has a unique style, that combined with his distinctive worldview and British witty charm, it definitely makes him one of the reigning comedians these times are fortunate enough to have.

You can't miss this, and if you're easily offended, you still should watch this and see Ricky's perspective on that, it might be helpful. And to quote him, remember, "just because you're offended, doesn't mean you're right". Enjoy!

Humanity from the legend Ricky Gervais is one of my favourite stand up comedies i've ever seen. You should go on Netflix and watch it right now and you won't regret it. With its dark humour and amazing jokes this is easily the best in recent years. It is hilarious i cried my eyes out of laughing!

Short and sharp jokes.

It was successful, it was one of the best shows I've watched (I watch stand-up less.) He does it well, even if I don't like jokes about our ideas and some of the issues he does.

Humanity

Damn, I love Ricky Gervais because he says whatever he wants and its always brilliant. I laugh really hard, god this was so funny but I still think that "Out of England 2" is his best one yet.

So this is what sums up humanity?...
paul_haakonsen7 June 2018
I think this is the second comedy show that I have watched from Gervais. But I must admit that I was thoroughly entertained by this particular show. I found it on Netflix and decided to give it a go, as Gervais tend to be rather entertaining in the TV and movie productions that he stars in.

Straight off the top of my head, I must admit that I definitely love his blunt directness and straightforwardness. Gervais says things as they are, and he says what people are thinking. Gervais doesn't cushion it up by wrapping it in the god awful political and sexual righteousness that is permeating throughout everything these days, and have people scared to say what is really on their minds.

His jokes are hillarious, straight and bluntly to the point and delivered with great skill.

There are plenty of laughs throughout the show and he keeps it on a level where everyone can keep up.

If you enjoy stand-up comedy, then "Ricky Gervais: Humanity" is definitely well worth checking out

The best stand up act i ever seen
joaosantos2015 March 2018
This was an amazing show, not only for the jokes, but also for the honesty. I guess age lets Gervais don't care less about any PC line not to cross, but more than that i appreciated the honesty trough all the show but especially in the end

Standard Gervais show
danhall76-925-37731828 September 2021
I found it funny. If you like Gervais you will like this. A lot of people moan he hasn't 'evolved' but I'm not really sure what they want. His stand up is what it has always been and if it's not to your taste there are plenty of other options.

That being said I can usually see the underlying meaning to his jokes but there were a few moments in this show where things are just being said for shock value.

Overall it was pretty good but maybe give it a miss if you are of a sensitive disposition.

nothing original
gaveale16 March 2018
I really admire Ricky i think his views on animal cruelty and religion are spot on. I have been waiting for a new stand up for some time but i thought this show lacked originality and interest.

The jokes were random and awkward to listen too. The why i don't have children section was odd and the floating balls just wasn't funny but it carried on. Listening to that section was painful. He felt the need to justify his humour and spent too much time talking about his reply's on twitter when he offended someone during a stand up or FB post. A really poor example of a comedy show, too self absorbed and lazy.

I'm not gonna get political, it's all been said - it's just very smart, very honest, very funny and Gervais is as likable as ever.

Brilliant!

Carefully observed comedy with its eyes firmly on those who challenge freedom of speech.

I'm a middle aged man, I don't get out much, have a mortgage and bills to pay and I think it would be fair to say I don't laugh much. I laughed a lot at this! All I can say is it's your right to be offended. Exercise that right.

Watched this after watching afterlife and having a little Gervais marathon. Laughed all the way through and was so shocked when it ended as I didn't think I had been sitting there for that long.

3/16/18. Gervais was actually pretty funny in this stand-up comedy. I wasn't sure how he would do as he seems to be a disaster at the Academy Awards he has emceed in the past. So, I was pleasantly surprised that I enjoyed his perspective on things.

Social media affects humour
willowspain16 March 2018
I love Ricky Gervais because he says what he wants - and usually in a pretty fun way. People really are basically stupid and that's partly why he's so funny - and gets everyone to look and even laugh at themselves.Pay attention to what you take away from this - that's part of life's lessons.

Always good times with Ricky.
deloudelouvain8 August 2018
What's not to like about a Ricky Gervais show? Everything he does is just brilliant. I watched all his stand up comedies he did thus far and I never got disappointed. The same with his latest show Humanity, it's all very entertaining and funny from the first till the last second. Okay it's not for the easily offended but then again those people just don't have the right kind of sense of humor. Most of his jokes are also never far from the truth, the hurtful truth, things people know it's the truth but don't like to hear it. To mock religion is the best humor there is as religion is based on completely ridiculous stories that need to be mocked. Too bad if you're that stupid to continue to believe in the biggest scam of history. Ricky Gervais is never afraid to put humor in everything, even the delicate subjects, and for that you have to applaud him, because humor cures everything.

Oh humanity! Ricky got old...
kofila16 March 2018
First of all - I'm a huge Ricky Gervais fan - I've watched most of the stuff he and Smerchant wrote/produced/starred in and this must be the worst thing of all that. The most alarming to me was that Ricky seems to be living in some sort of pre-internet, no memory land as he thinks audience is unfamiliar with the Golden Globes, US talk shows, and even his old shows. I was shocked as I recognized about 80% of Rick's stuff on this show. The rest just felt old anyway... Jokes that consist of explaining old jokes he told somewhere else.. Jokes about sagging balls.. It just all felt like Rick found some kind of TV archive (including his shows) and thought: "Hey, that's good and no one will probably remember!" The other thing was Ricky's persona on this show. He tried to fit himself in a role of this exalted explainer and mesiah talking about his dull observations that many made before him and maybe in a funnier way, too. It just all felt a bit too self-satisfied and over-confident. Not impressed...

Humanity is great! Why can't the rottweilers do that? No, they're shaking the baby's
HLEYE10 September 2018
Love the stupid stuff Ricky does, like asking David Bowie in Extras to write another Star-men or something. He's often very wrong about what he believes to be true, is lovingly annoying, witty, smug etc. And the dog stuff at the beginning is brilliant (although) he could have done some more in acting it out, but oke, he's lazy and chubby. The Jenner thing was way too long for my taste, but the show is one of his best. Must watch, and twice.

Why can't the rottweilers do that? No, they're shaking the baby's

Brilliant
fandango11119 October 2018
As always Ricky is super funny, jokes are great, timing perfect. Just one thing- there is too much time spent, in my opinion, on Ricky defending his right to joke on any subject. He's right of course, but could dedicate that time to just getting on with being brilliant at what he does best- comedy. Thanks Ricky for years of entertainment! Your fan
