Adhi is known for some of the wonderful albums, and socio - cultural messages. And this one, it's a much need one for the current generation!
After the hugely appreciated independent album-cum-documentary 'Takkaru Takkaru', he took up the lead in a movie penned by him which is based on his journey so far (with some necessary commercial elements, and moments!) Almost 60% of the movie was about the college days, which was enjoyable, and what comes next is the search of identity, their hard work before achieving this cult status!
Vivek sir has one of best and sweetest roles in his career, and his 'gethu' role is so inspiring. Especially when he says, 'either you win or lose, don't stop torquing your mustache!' His messages fit so perfectly, especially about the education and life.
Since it was his life story, with some changes, Adhi gave a wonderful performance .. especially the name 'Nila' behind his "Vaadi pulla vaadi" hit album. Didn't strike early. RJ Vignesh as his close buddy and partner in music 'Jeeva' gave the comical side of the role, although Jeeva appears so reserved in real life. Athmika, has the meaty role, and her character deserves so much applause, especially at the ending. It was so emotional, and didn't expect such an ending to say the truth! Ma Ka Pa Anand with his usual comical performance give us a few laughs and applauds when at the radio station performing lively about 'Clubbula mappula'. That college senior turned friends, gave a good performance, and their after college days brings gets us emotional.
What I did look forward was his early days in film industry, like partnering with Anirudh in "Chennai city gangsta", and the one before that.
It was such a good movie, and the ending is so touchy!!
