Glad to have the show back, even if a lot of people would prefer it stay gone because I prefer this way of introducing the next crop of singers as opposed to whoever gets popular through Youtube or Vine.

Katy Perry is a little too awkward here for my liking. I don't know if that is how she normally is, or if it is by design, but it just is not working. Lionel Richie lends some productive insight to the show, but Luke Bryan isn't much of a help either.

We'll see how it goes, but if ABC brings it back for another season it is hard to see this group remaining in tact.

Maybe it is me but never really hearing kary perry talk before seems she wants all the control and it very annoying she has turned me off ever listening to her music and to watch any more of this show

That sums it up for me.

I've watched nearly from the beginning, and my CLEAR favorite panel was Jennifer, Keith and Harry. They had an unparalleled chemistry which made the show a pleasure to watch.

Katy Perry is nothing short of obnoxious. Lionel Richie is fine as a singer and a human, but AI is the wrong situation for him. And whoever that other guy is on the right... ppppppthh.

I so want to be able to enjoy this whole season but I'm struggling (and FFWing) to get through Episode 3.

Even Paula was more entertaining, and she required a Narcan injection before each vote.

I'd even trade this panel for the Mariah and Nicki birchfest.

How could a 'great comeback' start out so awful?!

Wow - I just finished watching the first episode of the new American Idol. After waiting a couple years to see what butterfly would pop out of the old cocoon, it turned out to be caterpillar dung instead. What a shocking disappointment. Just when you thought judges couldn't get any worse than JLo, she was topped by all 3 of the new judges in being completely inappropriate throughout the entire show, with the most unprofessional exhibition of subjectivity and foolishness I've ever seen. It was like watching a freak show instead of a talent show. Except for one of the contestants - Alyssa Raghu -- who actually belonged with a golden ticket in her hand -- the rest of the show seemed bent on highlighting the most bizarre, creepy, crazy, odd & unqualified contestants they could come up with. I don't think a single person other than Alyssa would have had a chair turn for them on The Voice. Um...maybe Zach, if he stayed on pitch.

I certainly hope this isn't the pattern set for the whole show. It would be a deal-breaker for me.
