I did enjoy it

Non sence they call 911 only one cops come and get killed no cops come after that. Not logic. The camera did not record the whole story while she got away with it. No sense as well.

This would never happen.
myscrubsdontsuck14 August 2021
This movie was awful. Once the actual cop got stabbed in the foot, you'd think that in real life - a) another cop would have been there with her. B) more cops would have showed up after..... none of this would ever happen.

I was hoping they ALL died at the end.
sauerkraut-964677 May 2021
What ever happened to a movie with at least 1 person you feel like rooting for? In this movie they were either slimy, just plain bad, or so stupid they should not be allowed to live through the movie. Do NOT waste your time, the Muppets are more exciting!

Not a good movie
windsorenquirer8 May 2021
Funny, I really wanted bad guys to find the diamonds. I cared for them more than for this stupid greedy mother and her daughter.

Absolutely illogical
ndpfppn8 May 2021
This is an absolute horrible film. The two ladies did an absolutely counter human intelligence job. Like all other reviews, I really wanted the two ladies to die. They were incompetent, illogical. Specially the daughter, every single line she has in this movie is absolute insult to humanity since it's existence.

Goodbye Just Go

This is one of those B movies that is good for background noise whilst doin' something else. Especially if you have ADHD, you won't be able to stay focused past the first 10-15 mins.

Decent Movie
rob-7458218 May 2021
I love it when reviewers think they are knowledgeable about what makes a good movie, acting, etc. They think you can't be a good critic unless you nit-pic about every little issue and give it a thumbs down. This is not a great movie but it's worth watching. The acting was fine. Those who say it was unbelievable are probably the same ones who have no problem watching cars turn into robots. I have to wonder how many good movies I've missed in the past because I read someone's review who didn't have a clue.

You can see the film in the trailer!
mrmuskle9 May 2021
Just watching the trailer you can see how stupid and dumb this movie is as they were able to fend off bad dudes who wanted their diamonds. I wanted the mom and daughter to die just looking at the trailer. Then I wanted all of them to die because the crooks were bumbling idiots to allow these ridiculous women to best them. This movie makes no sense at all.

Fun Heist Thriller
frankkelly6 February 2024
I always enjoy a good heist thriller and this film creates great suspense. I loved the tone and mood of the film and the cinematography was fantastic. The film starts strong and sets the stakes as we quickly realize the amount of diamonds that are safely "Locked In" the building.

We then meet our struggling protagonist Mother and daughter duo, you immediately want them to break out of their current economic situation and the catalyst in this film gives them just that opportunity.

Loved all the twists and turns and watching Jeff Fahey is always great, especially when he gets to play the villain. Looking forward to seeing what writer/director does next.

candy wrappers and bad guys
ferguson-66 May 2021
Greetings again from the darkness. The first feature film from writer-director Carlos V Gutierrez is a B-movie thriller with the rare cinematic setting of a self-storage facility. Now you might think corrugated metal doors on rollers and concrete walkways don't add up to an exciting and picturesque filming location, and, well, you'd be right. However, Gutierrez uses the security cameras and maze-like corridors to generate some suspense, and he benefits from a cast that draws out every possible ounce of tension from the script.

Mena Suvari (from Best Picture winner AMERICAN BEAUTY, 1999) stars as Maggie, an employee at the storage facility, and mother to teenage daughter Tarin (Jasper Polish, THE ASTRONAUT FARMER, 2006). Mother and daughter are living in a rundown motel, and are about to be evicted due to non-payment. There is some family baggage here, as the husband/father is in prison, and Maggie is focused on finding religion to get beyond her checkered past. The last thing she needs is a night like she's about to experience.

Bruno Bichir (younger brother of Oscar nominated Demian Bichir) plays Lee, Maggie's boss who expertly plays the nice guy, while being a bit too obvious at keeping his own dark secrets. The film opens with the tail end of a diamond heist by two masked men, one who has an overactive trigger finger. Of course, the two thieves have a tie to Lee, and things go sideways quickly. Maggie and Tarin are trapped in a game of cat-and-mouse, and they don't initially understand why. Multiple bad guys enter the picture, and Maggie leaps into protective-mother mode while dealing with Ross (Manny Perez) and Mel (Jeff Fahey), the masked men from the diamond heist. Fahey is always a fun bad guy to watch, and this time is no exception. Soon, a third party enters the scene - Harris (Costas Mandylor from the "Saw" franchise), creating an even more tangled web of deceit and danger.

The film leans a bit heavy on crying and tough guy posturing, but it also makes clever use of the security cameras, the stark corridors, and even candy wrappers. The movie succeeds at being what it is: a creative low-budget thriller with an entertaining cast.

Ut oh not good.

I just saw this movie and all I have to saw I would have rather have been in a sack of cobra's. Really painful to watch. Would have been better if they had mommy/daughter kissing scenes or some tasteful nudity.

Even the title is incompetent
FeastMode18 January 2022
This is one of the worst movies I've ever seen. I was expecting direct-to-video quality but was still astounded with the trash filmmaking on display. It's terrible on every level imaginable and has no redeeming qualities.

Even the title is incompetent. It's called locked in. But at no point in the movie are they locked in. Ever.

On top of that, the amount of sheer stupidity in this movie is mind-blowing. It's filled from beginning to end with illogic, continuity errors, and things that make zero sense. These are the dumbest characters in history. I feel bad for every other time I've complained about bad character decisions. They don't compare to this.

It's almost more believable that the writers/directors made these awful decisions on purpose as opposed to accidently making the smelliest garbage possible. (1 viewing, 1/17/2022)

Competent Low Budget Thriller
omendata8 May 2021
For his first feature film, writer-director Gutierrez has pulled it off quite admirably with this thriller featuring some well known actors thrown into a confined scenario which is always a difficult one to pull off but I think he did rather well with what he had to work with. As usual we have the (1 or 10) star reviews which you can virtually ignore in almost every film review section as rarely does a film merit a 10 which is the best movie you have ever seen or a 1 which is the worst movie you have ever seen and this is most certainly a million miles away from a 1 - I suggest these reviewers watch the "Bad Batch" or the recent Mickey Rourke thriller "Adverse" and tell me this film still merits a 1 star review!

Good acting performances from all concerned which is always a good start, basic heist and retrieve the stolen goods story which is staple thriller fair but done with aplomb, a welcome return from Jeff Fahey who pulls of a rather impressive vicious bad guy and Mena Suvari as the heroine who always gives a good performance, make this a lot better than it would have been without them.

Good nights viewing which will not have you reaching for the fast forward button. Solid 6 out of 10.

If you like heist thrillers, you'll like this movie.
turnerw-2835924 August 2021
This movie was getting hit hard by negative reviews due to the fact that they couldn't control the two folks. I rented this last night for 0.99 and that's all its worth because every line that the kid had to say on this movie was so selfish that humanity would shut down. If you can't pay, you can't stay, is Mena Suvari's motto but when she finds out that she can be forced out of her home for not paying no rent, she cries for extra time, stupid right. Costas Mandylor playing a dirty cop and Jeff Fahey playing one of the bad guys who wants his diamonds. And they won't leave until they get what they want, I almost want to describe this movie as So bad it's good kind of flick. There was no control on this movie it was full of holes over half throughout this little actioner. Wait until this movie starts streaming on Tubi TV, where it's free cause it's not worth more than 3.99 at all.

Obviously, they are getting extremely good at producing the kind of piffle...
st_stoimenov21 May 2021
...that makes you crave eating your gun, which usually means that somewhere out there a market for this hogwash has to exist. I mean, there HAS TO! Right? Otherwise, who would finance such an uninspired production?

I mean, are they laundering money? The people who pay for this heap of trash to be produced, that is. They must be. Or, maybe, for them it is a form of philanthropy? Something of the kind of "let's help out those incompetent actors, inept writers and substandard directors. They have families too!" Yes, that must be it!

Geez...

A decent one time watch
LordCommandar8 May 2021
So this was a decent one time watch jew heist/hidden jewels type B fim. The bad guys show up at the storage facility where the jewels are hidden and a struggling mom and her daughter now have to survive the nefarious culprits who are after the jewels. Watch once and keep it moving. Nothing at all to write home about.

jermiester15 May 2021
Well the acting was atrocious The daughter and mother both needed to be shot due to stupidity, and changing sides more then I change my underwear The cliques were even worse The cop dying after being stabbed was the only realistic acting in this movie.

Acting is pretty good, not-too-shabby directorial debut
bypeterfenton12 January 2022
I had fun working on the set of this movie, so there was a lot of reminiscing for me throughout the film. I was surprised to learn it was only 90 minutes as a finished product, it seemed longer. Acting is pretty good across the boards: Mena Suvari gives a great performance. Jeff Fahey's villain is genuinely creepy. That stunt double around the 35 minute mark who gets tossed in the trunk of the sedan seems like a pretty cool dude. It's a not-too-shabby directorial debut for Carlos Gutierrez. I'll be interested to see what he cooks up next.

Underrated
jmgarciaiii6 February 2024
Clever concept, great pacing. Mena Suvari is sensational as a conflicted storage unit employee. The story is engaging and original (again, storage unit) and the bad guys are not cartoon cutouts. The shots, lighting and angles help capture the sense of both danger and claustrophobia - in a weirdly reminiscent Das Boot way! - which mounts as the action progresses. Shoutout to Jeff Fahey for his performance, which lends tremendous nuance, depth and texture to the film. This is this director's (Carlos V. Gutierrez) first feature film and the accomplishment is more impressive when you consider the budget.
