Ackles Chef's Kiss

It's the little things - the awkward conversation with his daughter, the easy comraderie with Pop, the barely controlled rage with Avery, the tears he holds in that you can hear in his voice, the icy interrogator eyes. The guy is a master: he picks interesting roles and fleshes out these unique characters. Every other member of the cast is also playing at a very high level here and honestly the only characters I want gone are slimy Avery, shallow Carla, Buck, Sunny and the syndicate man, all of whom were skillfully portrayed. I loved the Beau/Donno handshake between my faves and hope for their survival. Ditto Pops. Nice tense run up to the finale. Kudos.

Are You Mad?
bobcobb30128 January 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This episode upped the ante on the intensity side, but it also threw out all sense of believability and anything close to realistic with the program.

Buck had his head attacked, he was bleeding out, he was driving and traveling all over the state on limited sleep and he is still able to control his victims, attack others and orchestrate this scheme? It just does not seem believable at all.

This show is still an easy watch every week, but this season is kind of ending on a soury note. Week to week logic has disappeared and it almost feels goofier than it does an example of a good cop show right now.

Zombies? Really??!! Jump the shark episode.

Warning: Spoilers
You don't have to be a doctor to know that repeated hard blows to the head with a hammer would kill someone. So either the showrunners think the viewers are stupid enough to believe Buck survived Paige's murderous attack in the previous episode or that they believe Buck is now a zombie.

Come on writers. I know it's TV, but you need to have some sense of believability to keep the viewer engaged.

I remember when on 24, the writers "forgot" that the senator killed himself by driving his car off a cliff. He miraculously appeared later in the series. Guess we were supposed to have forgotten, once several seasons had elapsed, that the character was already dead.
