They really half ar$ed this, like barely enough to get a passing grade.
After a very wobbly first half of the season with terrible moralising and lacking in the core elements of this show that made it work, ie Harry, the whole story of an alien on earth, and the funny bits cos it is a comedy series, the second part turned it around somewhat. The police chief is funny, the kids and Harry's interaction with them is funny, The girls night out to save what every social issue, not funny or fun,
Darcy's ski career and love life, don't care,
Mayor and wife, funny for a few lines but after that, don't care,
Asta and her family life, not fun, not funny, not interesting not different enough to warrant our attention,
The clue is in the title 'Alien'.
I see it's been renewed for another series but they barely got a c minus passing grade for this season. I'll check out S3E01 and if Harry isn't front and center delivering laughs (which Alan Tudyk is more than capable of, he's a very good comedic actor and I love his delivery and the material he is given, when he's given it) with solid story progression I won't be watching any more.
What did this episode really deliver?
And the ending, are we supposed to know who the house is the guy ran into? Was it relevant or random?
Why did Asta jump to the conclusion that Harry was Goliath when the picture is from the perspective of someone watching Her and Harry?
The show needs to make more sense and better use of our time.
