The final scene was well written.

The final scene was well written and directed. Otherwise it's a very cliche - non funny at all episode, with only a few jokes that almost stick. Jessie Ennis and Danny Pudi duo is just a pain to watch as always. David Hornsby character is as always a punching bag and the duo are raised to be superior when it has never worked out comedy wise, least interesting characters. Ian and Poppy's back and forth is somewhat interesting to glimpse at but never to rewatch, well until the last episode where their fight feels so well done, when the show is grounded it works (just like in the special episodes each season).

I know the show will just revert back to what it is but I would really love to watch a more grounded written show from whoever made the last scenes.

Just none of the episodes this season leave any impact.

I love Mythic Quest and I will stick with it as long as it is on the air. Fantastic, fantastic characters, genuine heart, clever dialogue and storylines...

Which is why it's such a bummer that Season 3 has next to none of that.

Honestly, the season was boring from start-to-finish, failed to capitalize on any of the cliff-hangers from the end of Season 2, and in general felt significantly more vapid and disingenuous.

Messy and confusing with storylines that go absolutely nowhere, other storylines that drag on far too long, and no real sense of consequence to anything.

I'm very, very bummed at the sharp drop in quality for Season 3, and I really hope they get their groove back in Season 4, cause I will still be watching!

To Catch a Mouse

Warning: Spoilers
There were some okay comedy bits in this episode, but for the most part it was used as a build-up to the final scene where Ian and Poppy had to face some hard truths about themselves. While it was an okay scene, the overuse of cursing to try to create a dramatic moment felt beneath them. They're capable of better as actors, and I found that writing to be lazy.

The comedy bits before that were fine, as was escaping into music in your headphones and ignoring those around you, but the show is simply slipping in quality this third season. They could definitely have used F. Murray Abraham around a bit.

An Okay Build Up for an Okay Episode

I loved the emotion that Charlotte Nicdao gave in those final scenes. They were very well directed! But, the build up to everything was *just okay*. When compared to other episodes with a huge Poppy/Ian blowout (like in "Please Sign Here" from Season 2), the episode really gave an interesting build up to the fight. Even though I really enjoyed the mouse storyline - especially the dramatic shots between Jessie Ennis and Danny Pudi's characters during the rat catching scene - it was all just filler. I think that this episode would've benefited from saving the mouse storyline for a separate time and focusing *much* more on Ian + Poppy's relationship falling apart (again), especially considering that the last episode focused on how their relationship began.
