"A Quandary"
CulvertonSmith21 February 2022
A great start, can't wait to see where it leaves off in the finale. I love that this Lexi focused episode showcases not just positive aspects of her, but also her toxic traits as a director. She's very well performed by Maude Apatow and feels like such a well rounded character. The presentation of this episode and the play is fantastic, and I loved the blend of surreal and emotional moments within the play and the real world. Terrified for what's going down with Fezco, dear god. A couple of great Rue moments as well, genuinely brilliant stuff. This was a great penultimate episode for season two, loved it!

Awesome Direction.

Warning: Spoilers
The way the camera moved through each scene and the great visuals means The Theatere and It's Double was another feast for the eyes. Haunting imagery of each characters introspective journey was intense. The final shot of this episode and Jakes nightmare are a few examples. Not to mention the eerie reminders throughout the episode that something may not be okay with Fez. Not Fez, comeon Sam Levinson don't do this to me.

If you can't tell already I really enjoyed my time watching The Theatre and it's Double. Not everyone may like the framing of this episode and that fair. Count my opinion the opposite and I can't wait for next week.

Very specific

Very specific writing that's insightful to those who can relate to Lexis ambition and function as a visionary. I didn't see this coming. Definitely one of my favorite episodes.

Well that was a wild Lexi production!
UniqueParticle21 February 2022
Mainly focused on Lexi's play and some emotions in between. I have a feeling something was gonna happen to Fezco's friend that was hanging out at his apartment but it's uncertain. Very good for a 2nd to last of the season, cinematography is phenomenal some of the shots are wonderfully stylish with great lighting! Lexi's mom is delightful in this one compared to the last episode where she was not getting along Cassie where the brilliant line "She needs an exorcism" I loved seeing her cheering in this.

Masterpiece

Insanely creative way to learn about the characters of Lexi. The combination of theater and film was amazing. Everyone's performance insane Maud Apatow,Alexa Demie,Zendaya,Hunter Schafer,Barbie and everyone in the cast everyone is so good. Cinematography amazing as always. Clever storytelling and original storytelling. For me a masterpiece in tv.

Incredible
ahk-3771421 February 2022
This episode has been emotional, funny, dramatic and overall a great watch. The acting is stellar as usual and the writing and direction is especially great from Levison who can be a little hit and miss at times but he nailed it with his ep. Easily one of if not the best of the series. And what's really good is that this genuinely has rewatchability because of the entertainment.

Lexi is indeed a mthrf*ing G!!
alexdiflip21 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I know we were all waiting for Lexi's play to dish everything out in front of the whole school, but I don't think any of us expected the absolute thrill ride that was this episode.

Not only was the show interlaced with extremely real moments, the show itself has some really vindicating moments for some long-standing arcs. Frankly, I loved the humiliation that Nate suffered, but Cassie's look at the end was just *jawdropping*. She looked nearly psychotic. (But of course they both deserve it)

I was at first uncomfortable with Lexi airing out her friends lives for fear that she would say too much, but she was surprisingly tasteful. Rue's life was highlighted with positive moments and the main cast of girls are shown as heroes and friends. Although I still think she should've told them before making it so on-the-nose, but at the very least she only dished it out to those who deserved it.

I have to give a special shout-out to Alexa Demie for this episode. I'm glad they saved the aftermath of the reveal for now, as it was much more emotionally punchy during this moment. Her breaking down and asking when it will end was absolutely gut wrenching, and Alexa absolutely knocked it out of the park.

Fez's storyline is probably about 5 minutes of this episode total, but provides a really tense undercurrent for the whole episode. I'm so nervous for the situation in that house and how it's about to explode. Great tension that has been built all season.

Honestly, some people say season 2 is worse than 1, but I disagree. It's better on every level. It's upped the ante in more ways than one. Thanks Sam!

Holding out for the finale
danielroytimms21 February 2022
This show gets better every single episode. Everything this season has been masterfully produced, written, directed and performed. I would be genuinely surprised if season two goes home empty handed at the next Emmy awards. It's brilliant.

I love you Lexi
Trey_Trebuchet21 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
...but what the HELL was she thinking girl?

I actually relate to Lexi the most in the show. I've always treated my life as a bit of a narrative, a long-running program starring me and my family and friends. I also just tend to be more down to earth and maybe the most 'innocent' of my friend groups, like Lexi. I'm glad that this episode took a bit of time to show some backstory for her in all of the madness. I've wanted a Lexi episode since the first season, and I wouldn't complain if we possibly got some more backstory in the next one.

By the way... Maude Apatow was REALLY good in this. I love her to death.

My favorite part was definitely the Nate musical number at the end... It was surprising, kind of hilarious, and actually kind of sad!

This was also really well shot and I loved the blend of stage-play camerawork and real-life as well, making some of the scenes almost Indistinguishable between the play and reality. It's beautifully made and acted, like most of Euphoria.

I have a feeling this finale is gonna be really shocking. I'm so mad I have to wait a week! (in a good way)

A surprising showcase of self awareness
patrickxsherman21 February 2022
Euphoria has always towed a line between being laughably unbelievable and painfully real. Uncomfortably familiar stories told through an excessively glittery filter. In this episode, Lexi's play acted as a self aware examination of Euphoria itself. A chance for the show to poke fun at itself, while also moving the plot forward in interesting ways. The writers of this episode used next level creativity to squeeze out even more unbelievably campy drama, without distracting from the serious tones that underly the series.

So tiring...
ioanaabogdan30 January 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This episode started great, I was really excited to see Lexi's play... but it just went downhill for me when the order of the scenes got so messy, alternating between stuff happening in Lexi's play, some real stuff that happened long ago and some real stuff happening God knows when... while other things probably happening a bit before the play, like with Fez... it was all so confusing and I couldn't make sense of the whole episode anymore... maybe it's just me, but I like to have a clear understanding of the timeline of events when watching a film.

I feel like this show has tremendous potential, some episodes were truly masterpieces, the characters are truly good... but the way the creators present the story is sloppy, sometimes it feels like is taking forever to get to the point, they keep on dragging and dragging the drama of a particular moment.

unrealistic and that's the problem
idoshevah17 April 2022
They are not teenagers the whole thing is too extra to be true too much sex like 17 year old teens really do that the budget of the show doesn't make any sense, why would a high school approve that guys sexual dance it just too much and unrealistic and that what ruins the show for me stay true to reality besides that the visuals and directing are amazing, and the acting is phenomenal.

Lexi shines in the latest episode
josef65421 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Being of the opinion that Lexi has been perhaps the most underutilized character on the show so far i was glad to see her getting some much needed screentime, this time in the form of the play she's been working on for most of the season. Like most of the episodes on this series this one was visually beatiful with great cinematography, altough if i had to criticize something about this episode it would be the editing, making it sometimes unclear to me atleast whether the event's we're watching are unfolding on the theater stage, in flashbacks or in dreams.

The different acts in Lexi's play varied from heartfellt to funny as she shares her feelings on both herself and her insecurities but also, in a not so subtle manner, her friends and the people around her, most of whom were attending the play as audiencemembers. Some having fun with it, like Lexi's mom, and others to various degrees of dismay (primarily Cassie).

Most notably abscent from the audience however was Fezco, instead getting dressed up to meet Lexi after the show i pressume, unaware of the impending doom that awaits him. Not making the same mistake as his older brother the cues of betrayal are not lost upon Ash, who's getting ready for violence in what i assume will be a tragic season finale.

As a final note; i was both suprised and delighted to hear that the theme song from Cannibal Holocaust was used for the ending. I absolutely love it and never would've expected it to show up here, or anywhere really.

Possibly the most uncomfortable hour of television I've ever seen
thefoochie21 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
If I had to describe this episode in one word, it would be: uncomfortable. From leslie's blunt honestly when she tells rue that she doesn't care if she does drugs, to cassie's embarrassment from the way Lexi portrayed her, and finally, Nate's gay musical was the cherry on top. I honestly feel like there should be a cringe warning for this episode, because there were some moments that were genuinely difficult to watch. All in all, this is a brilliant episode of euphoria, possibly the best one of the season besides episode 5. That "to be continued" at the end made me so mad! (In a good way)

Stop complaining about the play's budget!
mamet-9471324 February 2022
It's pretty apparent to me the lushness and grandeur of the play was only in Lexi's head and we got that fantasy so the harping on the play's budget is just short-sighted.

That being said the episode is tremendous with an epic build up culminating with the theme song from « Cannibal Holocaust » being played over the credits. Perfect set up for the finale.

The most creative episode so far!
huzaifaharoon-9887621 February 2022
Lexi's play had been teased since the very start of the season and had been building up to be a massive event. Going into the episode, I had high expectations and boy did Sam Levinson knock it out the park again.

The episode is essentially a much much better and more nuanced version of the little Episode 3 fourth-wall break bit at the start. It cuts back and forth between actual happenings and dramatic realizations of them in Lexi's play to effortlessly contrast the story.

Some plotlines gets intricately woven in and the narrative as a whole progresses forward despite the play being the sole focus of this episode. Sam managed to balance some light-hearted humor with dark and serious moments perfectly. The cinematography and music were amazing as always.

No spoilers but all I will say is that ending on *that* musical number was one of the best things this show has done. From the buildup till the payoff, I was hooked. While I don't think this is the best episode we've had so far, it certainly was a satisfying penultimate. Can't wait for the finale!

A Creative Extravaganza

Pretty awesome seeing Lexi's play juxtaposed throughout the episode. Felt a little weird/contrived at first, but it gets really entertaining. I just don't like that they're making us wait until next week to find out what's going down with Fez.

An absolute masterpiece.
clarisseefstratiou21 February 2022
This episode was truly next level. The lighting, aesthetic, visual effects and the whole dynamic in storytelling and editing was just brilliant.

This was quite a unique episode and they really nailed it, I don't want to give anything away and I suggest you avoid any spoilers. I love how the show tends to create more artistic scenes, and the story expressed itself once again quite artistically and beautifully.

I love the show
totaldramaitalia20 February 2022
So much REAL drama. I love it. It's a pity there's only 8 episodes this season. I wish there were at least 10 eps per season. Third season should come up this year on september. It shouldn't take that much since they give us this few episodes. I dont wanna wait another full year. Season 1 aired in 2019 and S2 in 2022... C mon.

Not for me
hbtkjmkbd23 February 2022
I'll start by saying I can totally see why someone would give this 10 stars but it just wasn't for me. It was an extremely creative medium to progress the story but I found it almost corny and it took me out of it. I also found the finale of the play to be very strange and borderline uncomfortable. Not for me.

Weakest episode so far
winnipegwitch21 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I absolutely love this show, but this episode dragged. Would be better if the entire episode wasn't about the play. Hate Nate but have to agree, homophobia is never a good look, Lexie. Call him out for being an abuser, not secretly queer. Yikes on bikes. With only 1 episode left, there is barely any build up here besides what's going on with Fezco. Hopefully the season finale will be better.

Lexis play was amazing, showcasing characters past, being very funny, made me cry and made me clap. This episode is definitely one of the best episodes of the season! They have also built up what appears to be a chaotic drama filled exciting finale. Can't wait for next week!

Art imitates life.
Suave78521 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Lexi finally gets her day in the sun as most of the series has evolved around drugs, sex, and many other poorly made decisions; not her strong suits to say the least. However, we get a staged rendition of sorts as Lexi shows us what it is like to be a third party to the crazy lifestyles that her friends choose to dabble in. Lexi presents a biased portrayal of the lifestyle choices made by those closer to her and then drastically exaggerates upon them. But did she?

The episode goes rather into depth and takes some time to flesh out some of the relationship dynamics. Plus, we get a sneak peek at what may have really spurned Lexi to share her views in such an egregious manner. And when I mean egregious, you will either love or hate how Lexi shockingly tells her side of the story.

I took two things away from this episode. The first was rather obvious; art imitates life. Hence, the theme that is on display pretty much the whole episode. Second, life is complicated. You really never know the whole story unless you have walked a mile in someone elses shoes. Lexi may, or may not, find out the hard way that her views bring smiles to your face and knifes to your back.
