A cheap thriller, but fulfilled

Stranglehold is a stock murder crime thriller that focuses on the search for a serial killer. This medium-length film offers a story that would have worked quite well in a feature film. It has something to offer, but its short length and budget make it a short story that should have been extended further. The psychic involved in the story could have contributed a lot if they had given her more input. The performances are acceptable and the script is decent. It's not supposed to be based on a Stephen King story, but since it's included in the Nightshift Collection, the only story it might be similar to is the novel The Dead Zone. Possibly, the plot was inspired by said novel. Stranglehold is a medium-length film that has more to offer and as a feature film, that could have been made the most of. My final rating for this medium-length film is 7/10.
