Season 2, here we go. At Kent Farm, Lex's daughter thinks this Lois is her mom, but Lex immediately steps aside telling her. The two get in the RV driving away. Three months later. Superman has gained popularity across Smallville. Sarah arrives out of the bus from camp reuniting with her parents. Lately, Lois' new paper company has been going through some trouble. Jordan arrives to meet Sarah asking if she could arrive at a pond in half an hour. Meanwhile, Jordan still had a career in Football. Oh look, Jothanhn now has a girlfriend.
Clark hears some trouble arriving in the ocean, but something is going wrong with his mind causing him to drop underwater. Superman snaps out of it respecting a Submarine crew of Koreans raising it. I must say, that shot of Superman flying above the ocean was top-notch! The crew celebrates after this thanking Superman. Lex is discussing with his daughter to not panic during School, and that any familiar faces are not the same person that she knew. Wow, she just called her dad "Henry." Yikes.
Lois arrives home LITERALLY WALKING IN JOTHNAHN HAVING "it" WITH CANDICE. She is upset ready to talk with the two. Superman arrives at some Military Base to discuss with a Lieutenant. Superman hears from Lois that she needs her, and he does arrive to hear the news. Okay, I completely forgot that Jonathan was 15. The two have a heated argument about all of this. Yeah, I do wonder what the hell is going on with Lois. Meanwhile, at the pond, Jordan impresses Sarah by showing her a bunch of candles floating in the waters.
Man, I do hope this Mayor Hart isn't a bad person. Heheheh. Clark comes to talk with Sarah's dad about his concerns about Lois. During the night, Nat arrives late to her father telling him about her trauma. Jesus Christ, I feel for her. Jordan arrives late. Yet, Lois is questioning him. I wouldn't blame her being on her mood since what recently happened with Jonathan, but I might be wrong as I have no experience with parenting lol.
Some kind of Earthquake happens disturbing the peace for a bit. Clark has a brief discussion with Lois. We get an explanation of why Lois has been acting all strange for three months because of Nat. This is sincerely heartbreaking, since when I've been sensitively emotional? Lol. Clark hears an earthquake as it wreaks havoc in Smallville. Earthquakes in Kansas? That is not normal... Superman continues saving lives until he arrives at a line seeing two Krypotians. This causes Superman's mind to go wack for a moment.
He arrives at the same Military Base questioning Lieutenant. Something is wrong with this guy. He has that bad vibe. Lois arrives at the Diner to meet Lex. Nat immediately walks out. Lois comes to apologize to her. Clark has a talk with his sons about what has happened. Clark walks out with his sons delivered with the news that Lex and Nat will live on the same farm with them. The rumbling is continuing coming from the deep depths of Earth... DOOMSDAY?
Thoughts?
"I am somewhat pessimistic with a second season. I do think the problem with the shows is that they go on for so long." I do have the same feeling, and I am genuinely worried, but we're not here for that.
An excellent slow start that is setting up the plot of Season 2, yes. I will keep on saying this - the characters always feel real about having problems in their life which give them more exploration. For example, the family drama between an emotional arc with Lois pays off in execution where she doesn't want to become her mother, etc.
I have no problem with the lack of action since this is the first episode focusing on the characters. I was completely invested throughout 42-minutes, but there is one flaw that I was having a struggle with is that they weren't showing us Nat's difficulties, but instead it was telling. I don't get the hate for Nat. She is supposed to be a character with flaws. Stop prematurely judging on characters before they develop more, lol. (( Yeah, I am behind, but my point stands. ))
From reading from negative reviews, this caught my attention. "Well this was awful. Lois behaving like a strict christian cult leader acting out on her boys for doing wrong." Oh wow, I guess underage intercourse is permitted but ok. That's messed up on every level, but ok. This review will not focus on negativity. Positivity is good. But still, it feels good to correct someone. Also very interesting to see Superman's relationship with the Military is now changed. Not bad on the new intro!
I truly forgot how phenomenal this show was, and it is amazing to feel the beauty again after five months. I am quite not sure if I stated this before, but here you go: Tyler Hoechlin is now my all-time personal favorite Superman from now on at this point. Sorry Christopher Reeves, but you're my second favorite even though. You're still great.
"Just... I guess the timing seems a little sus, no?"
10/10.
