It's good at what it tries to be

How do you even rate a show like this? This is a really tough question to be honest, because when you give it a high rating, people will call you a sadist or even worse things (potential "struggle snuggler" if you know what I mean).

Anyway in my opinion the show is good at what it tries to be - an extremely dark revenge fantasy.

The main character gets heavily abused in the most horrible ways you can imagine. He starts out as a naive young adventurer limited to healing powers which severely limits his fighting capabilities. His healing capabilities are unusually strong though and therefore he becomes very valuable. As they have a heavy drawback he doesn't want to use them though which then results in him being forced into using them through said horrible ways of abuse.

Because of this he wants to take revenge on everyone that was abusive to him. And when you watch then you can see that at least in the noble and adventurer circles basically every person shown early on is pretty despicable and you actually want them to suffer and for the MC to get his revenge. Fortunately later on in the show you see more characters that are actually decent and at that point it feels refreshing also the way the main character interacts with these side characters feels okay.

This show is pretty straight forward in how the revenge is shown. We're talking about physical, mental as well as sexual abuse. So people should think on whether they can stand to watch it or not.

The story in season 1 is moving forward at a steady pace with lots of violence, revenge and sex. The main character gets a growing number of girls following him around. And yes, there is sexual content with them in every episode - sometimes more and sometimes less.

One more thing I want to mention because there are people that complain about this show even existing. I think people should calm down a bit because even in the west there have been pretty hardcore violent shows and movies. The Saw movies would be one example of basically torture p***. Also let's not ignore "The Boys" which in itself is very graphic in what it shows. Just because this anime is very graphic with the violence doesn't make it any different from something like these other shows or movies. This one will either find its audience or not and get cancelled completely. And also let's not forget - these characters are drawn. So no one actually gets hurt or has to visually play these scenes. It's just animated pictures and voice actors.

Watch it or don't - the choice is yours.

A Controversial and Polarizing Anime Experience

Mixed Bag. Has some good ideas, but not sure about the execucion.

I personally find the story pretty interesting, The MC isn't a typical hero, he leans towards an anti-hero persona which i really like and prefer. The premise is really interesting in my opinion, a revenge story which isn't all that original, but the circumstances give it some identity. A lot of people don't really like how graphic it is and the fact that it mostly hints but sometimes show pretty gruesome things being done, but the fact of the matter is that the character and his motivation is believable at least to me. I don't really like the how they show (hint) at things, I think it would have been better to show them raw like in the old berserk (golden age) or mute things down if they aren't willing to show graphic things. I do think that plot is interesting i just think that the way they are portreying it isn't the best. Wouldn't say it's great, but it really is interesting and compelling. The things it shows are part of our reality too, people with power abusing it, people that have been abused for, a long time breaking mentally and doing bad things, motivated by hate and anger. If you get passed the hentai without the actual hentai part of the anime and focus mostly on the story and premise I do think it's worth watching and interesting.

Revenge is a dish best served cold

I don't know how to categorize this anime: It is obscene, violent, dark and disturbing for some audiences. It is classified as ecchi and yet it should be hentai.

If you overcome the first episodes you will be trapped in the story and you will not stop to see how far the main character will go to fulfill his cruel revenge.

I personally would have prefer less porn( but some scenes ok) and more magic/epic battles in this revenge story. it is my first anime in this genre and i can see why a men/boy audience would like it. the sense of a protagonist who control females sexually and psychologically is a turn on to many .

The first episode just got released and to be honest, it was quite entertaining. The epic saga of a healer mage who decided to redo his life and take revenge against the princess and the kingdom for humiliating and enslave him and by revenge you know what kind of revenge right! Sounds just like a he***i plot and it really is one. But it was still enjoyable not just because of the PLOT the story is half-decent too as we as audience also want the princess and the kingdom to get what they deserve for the injustice they do. For the 'cultured audience' there's an uncensored version too, so don't forget to check it out.

The MC is made a victim just to justify the horrendous things he does and so people don't complaint about it. Its just awful and gross. I don't know how people can give it a 10. Its truly a dark age we live in.

The Anti-Hero Gets His Revenge

I think the large majority of people don't like this anime because it isn't about the hero righting wrongs and saving the day. It's actually quite the opposite with a lot of accountability. The Anti-Hero.

A young man is brutally and graphically tortured for years on end by a noble princess who believes she has the right to do whatever she wants because he's just a peasant - much like the girl in the first episode of Akame ga Kill that Tatsumi ended up killing himself when he saw that she had tortured his two friends to death, along with hundreds of others.

This anime is about a guy getting his revenge. The first two episodes have been brutal but I expect that to taper off as the Princess was his primary target. He has other people he's after but he wanted her to suffer the most for all the years she tortured him. She should be grateful it only lasted a day.

Sick plot

Anime with good animation but with a sick plot. How is it possible to think of producing a series with such a sadistic protagonist? Not that those he mistreats are good people, but even so it's hard to watch. I have not seen any positive traits or glimmer of redemption in this murderous, raped sociopath who would sell his soul to the devil to get revenge.

This is a very good anime. It's pretty much hentai though. So,bear it in mind before you watch. This anime where hero is severly abused gets revenge on those abusers. To be honest I was also very satisfied seeing this. You definitely should give it a watch. It's a harem anime you should know that.

Borderline Hentai with a plot.

Great story that leans a little too heavily on the sex scenes. Very violent. The sex scenes are effectively softcore Hentai. Only half of which are plot based. Some of it seems like it's there for the sake of being there. Which makes it less of a story and more pornographic. However the storyline itself is strong enough to hold its own and would have done a lot better if they'd toned down the amount of gratuitous scenes to accommodate what was required by the story and the plot. Character development and dialogue are all very well crafted but are sadly let down by the constant need to push the story into sexual territory.

Decent for what it tries to achieve

It's a dark fantasy revenge story and executes this moderately well. Despite having some disturbing scenes, I don't think they take away from the show too much and even add a little bit of intensity. It's not fair to dock a show for being "too gruesome". Only on how well it delivers those scene and integrates them into the plot. which Redo of healer achieves fairly well.

The plot is semi interesting and the main protagonist goes further than most which adds a slight depth of realism compared to other anime MC's. Overall an "interesting" adaptation.

How this is regarded as an anime not a 'softcore' hentai is beyond me, it was nothing special.

The more you watch this anime the less structured it seems to get. The scenes become more grotesque and the subject matter pushes the limits to those stumbling across this anime with no context.

Do not watch if you are going into this looking for a juicy story. It's your basic revenge story mixed with heavy sexual references and scenes. It has some unique features but the overpowered 'hero' of the anime seems to nullify any real redeeming qualities to make this a good watch.

But if you're into that kind of thing go ahead enjoy this potential guilty pleasure.

Controversial, Well Made Revenge Anime

Before you watch any anime I would recommend reading the Manga first. That way you can get a better idea if the anime you want to watch is your cup of tea of not. On top of that there is plenty of content that might only be available in the Manga that is not shown in the anime.

This anime is protested by many Modern Day Feminist, as well as individuals involved in Cancel Culture. The low rating of this anime is represented more by that than the quality of the content. Not that there isn't any merit to the arguments of those that protest this anime, but at the end of the day it is just a TV show, and if you take the content for something other than it is I believe that the person that misconstrues the content should be punished for that more than the content creators.

This show is not for children or teens. The TV-MA is a very deserved rating for this anime. Redo of Healer has horrific scenes of violence, blood, gore, and both physical and sexual abuse. This show can be triggering for those who have been victims of abuse. I would advise caution before watching this anime if you feel that you might become triggered by it's content.

The main character starts off as a happy village boy, who grows up to be chosen as a Hero. The challenges he faces leads him down a dark path of revenge towards those who wronged him. The powers he gained in his second life made him more powerful, and his power grows with each battle he faces. Where will his path to revenge lead? This is the tale of Keyaru.

It's Revenge Porn with a Morally Grey Main Character

You know exactly why you watched this. In its revenge segments it's horrific, disturbing and the closest you can get to hentai in an anime. Three stars for being good revenge porn. Minus 7 for everything else (mostly it's generic and poor RPG elements). This includes the MC's grey morality, it would be better if he took revenge on those who harmed him then used his powers altruistically. I cannot enjoy the revenge segments when he also takes advantage of people who did nothing to him.

Seriously, so many people are so offended with this anime it's hilarious. Yes, season one focuses on the mc getting revenge on females in the most depraved of ways, but if anyone pays attention to how the mc feels about Bullet and actually watched the last episode, that's gonna change and probably have a good couple episodes devoted to it. Anyways, he literally does save one girl from death and let's her choose whether or not to follow him - she actually enjoys his views on how corrupt the world is because the world of this anime is more than just corrupt. Now, as far as the princesses are concerned, he was debased way worse than anything he does to the princesses he now uses as toys because of them and by them, and it's actually better for the world them being his puppets than doing the bigoted, xenophobic, tyrannical massacres they were committing. The second princess was going to be left alone, until she decided to massacre 2 whole towns for seemingly nothing but amusement and power.

Then he never actually touches the one girl, but only tells her that she's welcome to join. Yeah, he's an exhibitionist when offering, but he lost all sense of shame long ago after being repeatedly violated and abused by dozens of people. Oh, and some complain about people getting off while getting raped - some people do in fact dissociate during the experience to the point where there body just...does. It's a fact of life that you have to accept, lucky for you for never having had to experience that. Also, kinks form in some of the weirdest of ways, I've known plenty that were abused by their parents or an ex to later have such actions be the only way they could feel loved or even just aroused.

This show really sinks to the depths of depravity, highlights all its best and worst parts, and lays them bare. The writing and story line are on point if you ask me. So, watch it, just make sure you're actually adult enough to do so. If it makes you sick, consider yourself lucky that you've never had to experience things quite like what is depicted in this gloriously vile anime.

Lazy writing, the mc has the personality of a potato, all the sexual violence... This is an anime that tries it best to be like Goblin slayer, The rising of the shield hero.and a little dash of Berserk without even trying to reach the same brilliant writing. The main villains are more like plot points than characters. The plot is stale and the MC's actions is just reprehensible. I watched all 12 episodes so you don't have t. This series is pure trash and a waste of time.

Interesting Story

The idea is simple a healer who doesnt want to heal because of the pain and memorie he gets from curing his fellows, is forced by other heroes to still do so, getting set up on drugs, he now kinda is beeing humilatated by these heroes in very disgusting way sand is forced to heal anyway, he gains the advantage one day and escapes his brutal fate of them and can now life his entire life again knowing what happened and is now seeking for revenche, giving his punishers and even "harder" fate..

sry i said it that way so i actually wont spoil

dunno interisting story and even tho i would have done some things different i really think this series has potencial xD enjoy watching

Trashy revenge fantasy with few redeeming qualities

This is the story of a young man from a sword-and-sorcery style fantasy world who has an amazing magical ability - the power to Heal. Unfortunately, this ability comes at a terrible price: the Healer absorbs the entire life experience of the person he is healing. As a result, he's not very keen to hit the adventuring circuit, and has to be pressed into service as part of a group of Heroes that includes the Princess Flare, a powerful magic user, plus a girl with a magic sword and a gun with a magic gun.

Turns out these so-called heroes are not nice people. From the moment he displayed a reluctance to use his power, the Healer is kept in an addled state to make him more pliable and subjected to constant physical and verbal attacks (particularly from his fellow Heroes) until the fateful day he is able to escape his predicament by acquiring an artefact that allows him to "heal the world" i.e. Travel back in time with his memory and powers intact.

Confucius said "Before you embark on a journey of revenge, first dig two graves", but our protagonist can be forgiven for not having heard that since he's from a world with magic and demons and as much depth as a bottle cap. The Healer is back in the past for a second go at life and he has only one aim in mind - revenge.

Frankly this is a mean-spirited and at times outright embarrassing piece of work. The narrative is simplistic and there is zero character development. The world features several infuriatingly explicit JRPG elements (the Healer has a magic eye that lets him read his opponents stat blocks, one of the Healer's companions is able to grow in power by engaging in a certain activity rather than, you know, through gaining actual combat experience or something stupid like that). And it's a JRPG where our protagonist bought all the DLC.

There's no tension to most of the fight scenes because the Healer is laughably OP and healing is only a tiny fraction of what he's able to do. To be fair, it is established in the first episode that his Heal allows him to copy abilities from the people he heals so presumably he reverse Sylar'd his way to a whole bunch of powers the first time he went through life but you only see it happen once so afterwards he's just dropping new powers seemingly out of nowhere. Also I guess he got used to the psychological trauma of experiencing another person's entire life in a matter of moments because that stops being a problem pretty early on.

And finally we have the problematic content. The villains do revolting things to the protagonist to give the viewer license to enjoy him doing even more revolting things to them. Judging by all the 10/10 reviews, some people enjoy that kind of thing a lot, but your mileage may vary. The show is surprisingly light on gore so they aren't as disturbing as they might have been. But there are undoubtedly animes out there with much more shocking content if that's what you are after so I can't imagine it is worth watching this whole show for maybe three depraved scenes.

Ultimately I knew about some of those scenes before I watched the show and I thought I'd give it a chance anyway to see if it went anywhere interesting. Having watched the whole first season, I can confirm it doesn't. The show is about him attracting a bevy of babes who are (mostly) inexplicably in love with him and getting revenge, not about whether his revenge is justified or how taking it changes him as a person. You can watch stuff happen in this show but it will not make you think.

I give it two stars because I made it all the way to the end.
