Im so confused but i love it!
ha77y73ad9722 April 2022
The MCU Indiana Jones has arrived with a split personality! This was the series that i expected to see!

The whole episode i was loving the references to actual history and then grave robbing Mummy-esque story with the un-dead priest preforming a mummification which was something that i would never thought id see on a MCU show. This is was gripping, tense and the story which this has been building too.

Overall i cannot wait for the next episode as the last 10 mins was totally left field where i have to say yet again i have no idea what is going on!

Nice episode, only the fight scene on the sandy hills was stupid.

I wonder which god saved him ;) Prob the one from the girl he did meet.

Had an Indiana Jones feel to it.

Da FK Was that Ending Scene?
MamadNobari9720 April 2022
Ok so, I was gonna give this episode a 7 because the first half could've been better and was kinda underwhelming and I'll talk about it in a second, but the ending made up for it and it has probably the most wtf ending scene I've ever seen in any show.

This episode was probably the funniest of them all, and the last scene was the funniest in the show. Which I don't mind as it didn't ruin the more serious scenes, but it was still a little weird how the tone of the last scene changed so much in the span of a few minutes.

So about the underwhelming first half, or should I say the "convenient" first half; Steven and Layla go to the tomb, which Harrow and his people have visited way before these two came around and they're all inside. But somehow, no one is outside, AND no one is inside either? These two just go in there, Steven draws a map and they just conveniently and quickly find Ammit? Really? They said something like "there's six ways here", and Harrow brought an army with him. You're telling me that NO ONE from the Harrow crew find the way? And no one was in the way of these two either? Yeah, I ain't buying that.

Before they find it though, we have some kind of magical Egyptian cannibal creature that they do some decent "horror" scenes with. It wasn't the best thing ever, but it was a decent attempt at intense and old school horror scenes. But then again, it was kinda convenient again and easy how Layla just fistfight him and won, but a guy with guns couldn't hurt him.

Anyway, things get complicated as a love triangle forms between Steven, Layla and Marc, and things get real complicated between her and Marc as more secrets about Marc's past with Layla's family is revealed.

The first half was decent and my only problem was the convenience of which Layla and Steven had in finding Ammit.

But when the last or the third part begins, you just know things just got more interesting.

And I can't say much about it as it would be just spoilers, but I can say this, that it reminded me of Legion a lot, and it's kinda an spoiler if you've watched Legion.

Oh, this episode also has one of the most awkward kissed I've ever seen in a show or a movie, but it was funny though.

The last scene is probably the most wtf scene in all of MCU and I didn't expect them to go in that direction, but I love it, unexpected and makes you wait for the next episode.

Although with this episode I especially felt again that Disney+ shows would've benefited a lot if they weren't strictly 6-episode mini series. Some plot lines and things just feel like they need more episodes and time to expand and show us more these characters' past and also not rushing the story and wrapping it up too quickly in the end.

You smell like him
bosporan20 April 2022
Oscar Isaac gives his best performance so far depicting the dichotomous Marc/Steven. He illustrates their differences sublimely, in voice & vocabulary, facial expression and body language, viscerally incarnating these two disparate men struggling to share a body.

The first half crawls along, but is effective tension building. Night and tomb scenes are too dark and the effects budget was blown on last week's spectacular moon-magic, but these are minor quibbles.

Innumerable self-referential Easter eggs and nods to both Tomb Raider and Inception, round this out to the finest episode so far.

God-Tier Episode
tristan_1920 April 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Just WOW !

The last sequence of the episode, playing out after Marc has been shot by Harrow, is absolutely one of the most unique, creative, mesmerizing experiences we had in the MCU to date. The directing is stellar in this Inception Westworld-ish psychic invasion of the mind. The audience is left, just like Marc and Steven, completely helpless and disoriented. Everyone is left wondering what is real and what isn't. Reality is a blurred line, and for once I do not know what to expect at all in the next episodes.

Absolute Kudos to the showrunners who weren't scared to make the move and shoot the main character in episode 4. Also, Layla learns the truth about her father, and Ammit might not be who we think she is ? Arthur is phenomenal. Ethan Hawke's acting is truly glorious. Oscar Isaac and May Calamawy are also totally in their element.

It seems Marc and Steven will have to work together more than ever now and I am here for it ! The first part of the episode is also not bad at all and features a nice fight in the tomb, in which Layla tries to survive, and almost falls off a cliff.

The Tomb is a well executed sci-fi, mixed with some elements of horror and drama, and is above all a mental and psychotic experience, exploring the psychology and mind of Marc Spector. A truly unique episode of the MCU and of television in general.

The craziest ending ever
agentsofsword20 April 2022
By far the best episode I loved every second of it. The mix of Indiana Jones and Uncharted got me hooked and this episode was so well paced the last 10 minutes were so crazy like wtf just happened.

It's literally insane and the music in the mcu intro gave me goosebumps. Oscar Isaac should get awards for his performance and Layla is a queen.

Horror Indiana Jones vibes
lucafarina20 April 2022
This show is full of twists and turns! An adventure episode that shows how much Layla is badass and adds new elements to Marc/Steven story. I look forward to see Jake Lockley, the last one.

I loved the horror scenes and the references to the Mummy and Indiana Jones (also with the soundtrack).

One word: amazing!

Insane Warning: Spoilers
What a fantastic episode. It was going amazingly good, but that final part, that insane twist, with Mac and Steven in a sort of asylum, that was absolutely epic. I dont wanna sleep I want answers!

Once again, a phenomenal performance by Oscar Isaac and Ethan Hawke was awesome as well.

THE TOMB
Trey_Trebuchet21 April 2022
By far my favorite episode so far.

I actually like the slower moments of this show. They do a decent job of either building up tension or further developing the relationship between Layla and Marc/Steven. All of the anti ent Egyptian stuff is genuinely interesting and the comparisons to Raiders of the Lost Ark and Tomb Raider are pretty fair.

Oscar Isaac is excellent as these characters and I continue to like May Calamawy. Ethan Hawke is also really really good.

I really like that this show feels very different from the rest of the MCU, something I also felt with Eternals and Marvel's other tv shows to a degree. None of those even feel like this. I do hope they do another season of this show though. It's evident by this point that something bigger is coming after the finale right?

Also, I loved the last scene. Really great stuff.

Boring!
mr_singh-0970428 April 2022
Mildly entertaining but also very annoying, If this is the future of Marvel story telling then I'll cancel my Disney plus subscription and stick to the movies. For me it's was the most anticipated but ended up being the most boring marcel series to date.

Big miss
Riddler9120 April 2022
4 episodes out of 6, I think it's safe to say the show is a miss on Marvel's behalf. There is barely a plot here, the answers we get are not satisfying, the characters are not interesting. And I hated the pseudo-historical crap Mohamed Diab came up with. The tone is not very good, instead of being dark and gritty, it's too comedic. I know Marvel likes to pepper comedy throughout its productions, but that's like DC making George Clooney's Batman, it just doesn't work out. I'm hoping the last two episodes save something out of this series because so far it's the worst Marvel tv series. Yet.

Love it!
movieturtle201320 April 2022
If I didn't know this was a marvel show, I'd probably never assume that it was.

The characters are great and the portrayal of ancient egypt lore is so fascinating. It makes me feel ashamed that I don't know more. It makes me want to study it myself. Then I would probably be able to appreciate all the little easter eggs and details inside the tomb.

The score is perfect, the sets are amazing. Every week I wait on the edge of my seat for the new episode.

Steven Grant/Marc Specter is such an interesting character and Layla gets more fleshed out as well. I feel like a shoe about Harrow is still going to drop and his true self is revealed. I think something else is lingering behind the goal of waking Ammit. I can't wait for the final two episodes.

Up to this point, this show is amazing. Hope it stays that way.

6.5/10 - can see a lot of people ditching this show.
NiiBerry22 April 2022
Liked the history lesson and the acting but things dragged.

There is so much more to Egyptian history than this.

Decent expected CGI.

Cinematography fine.

Score was alright.

Episode felt 10 minutes too long.

Why are we always having to second guess.

And the boredom continues....
ar-anmolrawat21 April 2022
I have no words to explain the sloppy writing, amateurish execution (let's discuss till they find us and kill us) and the dragging pace at which the events are unfolding. That final section is just a cherry on the top of garbage they are throwing at viewers. The only solace this episode offers is that Khonshu is not asking Steven repeatedly to suit up because (duh) he's gone for now. This could have been a good and crisp two hours movie with so much better execution but alas, they needed people to pay for subscription instead. In my opinion, this is the worst web series of Marvel so far and apart from the good beginning, it has failed to keep me intrigued.

It's like watching MCU's Tomb Raider
TheStorytellingCritic20 April 2022
Well that was mind bending.

This episode delivered on all fronts. It delivered adventure, comedy, character growth and above all else, an eff tonne of mystery. It was like watching an episode of Tomb Buster, I mean Tomb Raider.

With the removal of Khonshu in the last episode, it was obvious that this episode was going to be more of a character driven one and that it was. It follows Layla and Steven searching for the tomb and it gave us great performances from all characters and what the show consistently does well is takes the audience through what the characters are feeling. We are in the dark about things just as much as these characters and we find out things alongside them. It creates for an experience of frustration and intrigue. Especially in this episode. I'm glad there is more Layla in this episode too, it gives for some great chemistry and interactions.

This was by far the best written episode of the show, 95% of the jokes land (which is rare), the pacing is great, and the only downside is the vocabulary of Steven with using phrases and words that just don't fit, but this is very minor and takes little to nothing away from the scene it is being used in. The action is great, and so far, the action hasn't been just included for superheroes' sake and entertainment value; this show knows how to use the action and still leave us wanting more and honestly this episode was a little terrifying seeing how things played out and had an effective jump scare.

The cinematography was great too..the wide shots specifically.

Overall, it was the strongest episode of the show and potentially the strongest episode of all the MCU shows out there. I also want to point out again, no links have been made to the wider MCU which is fantastic and if it would've been done, it would've been in this episode. This show is standing on its own two feet and its all the better for it. I'm now excited to see what's to come because of this episode. Something I never felt watching the other MCU shows Bring on the next 2 eps.

P. S. I know I said it before but I really do think they need to have a MCU Tv logo at the start.

Don't get me wrong
evanbates9021 April 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I do not have attachment to Marvel, I'm not a "lover-of-it-all" or whatever. I do however love adventure, drama, mystery and just good damn acting, writing, directing that leads to something fantastic. And this episode shows that this show can be that in its entirety.

This episode was so damn good, that now I expect the rest of the show to be inconceivably good, because how can it not be after this?

The pace slowed down in this episode, tomb-raiding mystery and adventure was had throughout, as well as a marriage drama with some multiple personality disorder thrown in to complicate things and make it even more interesting.

And, "Oh yeah!" they thought. "Let's also make it like a short horror movie in the middle. Scary, like startlingly scary. Like-dude ripping guts out of people and then trying to stab them in the face with his broken arm bone type of scary."

But no, this episode didn't stop there. It couldn't stand being this good anymore, so it got WAY better and went into such a crazy interesting direction.

I don't even want to write this review anymore because I'm afraid someone will read what I've written so far without seeing the episode so I'll just stop. It's too damn good for me to keep spoiling it.

Crazy good episode of television right here. Bravo.

Yeah, this show is incredible
Chipsneak20 April 2022
I am so scared that, like the other Disney Marvel shows, this finale is going to derail the show's tone, story and overall quality. However, after Episode 4 I absolutely love this show and it's my second favourite Marvel show after Daredevil and above Punisher. This episode is as unpredictable, exciting and high quality as the rest of the show. While Oscar Isaac is staggeringly exquisite in his performance, this episode really highlights the talents of the cast, particularly May Calamawy. Most of all it really makes it seem as though the creators are having a great time making the show... and if they're not, I certainly am.

Pretty shocking episode
rooosterrory21 April 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Okay, so this episode is kinda shocking, especially the final scene. Marc and Steven find themselves in a weird mental hospital, Steven literally died in this episode, How complex is this! And at the most shocking moment, they end off the episode so now I have to wait another week for the next episode, in conclusion, this is the most shocking and complex marvel production I've ever seen!

This episode reminds me of Lost TV Series and The Mummy movies. Loved horror elements, this time it was indeed a little bit scary. Keep it up, Marvel.

The first Marvel horror project
evgenijkh20 April 2022
While everyone was thinking about Dr Strange, Moon Knight episode 4 delivered the first Marvel Studios horror. And it was well done.

The last third of the episode was nothing but a great setup of the madness that I long to see next week.

dannyedgeprivate20 April 2022
This was by far the best episode, and it didn't even contain moon knight. Very well written and directed, with well done tension, suspenseful action, and twists and turns. Oscar Isaac and Ethan Hawke continue to turn in two of the best performances we've seen in the MCU. Try to watch this one without getting spoiled on it. Bring on episode 5!

Lara Croft ft Legion
rikudouensof20 April 2022
Well the title said it. After the impossible feat of changing the night of the whole earth, one has to understand that this episode took all the dry moments that should be allocated to every part of the season, and dumped it here.

I am still wondering where strange is at this moment. Oh ya, we met some unexpected historic character.

This disorder problem just got weirder. If you have watched and understood Legion series, then you need that training to help you navigate.

I am also not happy about the little woke parts, but I saw a part, remanence of Queen of the damned novel.

Oh we also had some weird Lara Croft going on.

LeSaigonnais25 May 2022
The storyline sucks terriblement, you can bypass it and go directly in Ep.6 without any lost. I do not recommend this Episode. It doesnot make sense at all. However the whole serie is very interesting for those who are interested in Egyptology. Ep1= 10 stars, Ep2= 8 stars, Ep3= 6 stars. Ep4= 4 stars, Ep5= "0 star", Ep6= 8 stars.
