Fun movie to pass a bit of time.
garcinder1 November 2021
Don't get too caught up with this one. It provides a bit of hope for a brighter future. The actors believably play their roles well. Watch, enjoy, and think about the possibilities.

Slooowwww!
kwihui20 October 2021
As my subject title says, it is so very slow it was excruciating to watch. I wanted to stop watching but I have this annoying behavior which won't allow myself to do just that! If I start something, a novel, or a project, or viewing a film, I am compelled to complete it! Very very annoying, I know!

Anyway, I cannot recommend this movie to anyone other than teens movies night gathering for fun. You know one of those teen parties where they'd comment on it making jokes and snacking, laughing a lot, etc. That's about it is good for!

Not a serious movie!

Funny. Silly. Dumb. Poor acting.

All of the above!

Enjoyable and Fun
bigbird-tv17 December 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Never know for sure with an Indie yet the film was good character driven SciFi. The acting is not at the top of the field though that have it a more lifelike touch somehow. The dad's accent really hurt the ears. Gracey looks like an alien from the start.

Worst. Acting. Ever.
stegasaurob7 October 2021
Sorry, I could only make it through about five minutes of this. But in that time I was treated to some of the most bizarre Irish accents I've ever heard. At least, I think they were trying to sound Irish.

Might work better as a short film
jon_pratt1234519 December 2021
My lasting impression is that the film was too long by quite a lot. There is a real low budget feel to the production and the acting was hit and miss but the story did have a few interesting turns. Overall I think I would have enjoyed this more as a short film.

Interesting indie SciFi
bartlettdirect12 September 2021
It's almost impossible for indie movies to compete against big budget Hollywood effects, but I had fun watching this one. If low budget SciFi is your wheel house, you might want to check this one out.

The WORST acting EVER!!
kerrinmanhattan9 November 2021
I am flabbergasted at how truly terrible the acting was in this movie. How could they have possibly watched their own movie and thought, "I am so proud of my performance!"???!!!??

Please don't waste your time on what can only be described as a high school project.

Fun sci fi
mchristi-156-1691402 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I enjoyed this, although I did fast forward though some of the "dad" stuff - I was there for the sci fi.

It was actually pretty intelligent and talked about real science, unlike many movies that only try to be sci fi. The Freud joke about the rocket was funny too and shows the writers are educated and witty people.

I think most anyone could enjoy this movie, whether they are sci fi fans or not.

I'm not sure why so many 1 rating reviews. But those are always suspect. How many movies are actually so bad they only deserve 1? Certainly not this one.

When you need a break from shoot-'em-up sci-fi
jack-5238228 December 2021
A fun rom-com sci-fi with just enough interpersonal and science stuff to make it interesting. Glad they got it to the screen. I thought a 5 rating a bit low, if for no other reason than the delightful and quite alluring performance by Gracie Lacie.

What you need to know, bad
dwaynemayo6017 October 2021
This movie is bad. The story has been done again and again. The acting is bad. The cinematography is bad. The humor is bad. Maybe I'm just not as forgiving as some but to me this was a waste of my time and I relied heavily on the FF button (so to speak) in the last 30 mnutes.

Besides being just bad, the plot just seems to wander. Too many scenes weren't needed. Too many barely needed uninteresting side plots. Plus, it felt like the casting call was "all actors who can't get a job acting". It really felt like the people that made this had no real experience at whatever their role was in aking it. There was no immersion. You felt like you were watching people pretend to be who they were. I know acting IS pretending but you're not supposed to be able to tell.

Look some of this is to hit the length for a review. But in a nutshell the higher score are generous at best and the low scores are on the money. I probably would have given this a 2 but I actually felt sorry for the people in this movie.

Quite unexpectedly good ride
Snootz28 September 2021
At first this appears to be a B-class alien movie. Then it appears to be a B-class romance movie. But the longer it goes on, the more interesting it becomes. By the time it gets to the science part-- FOR ONCE the writers offer a hypothesis that at least makes sense from a science / fiction viewpoint. That in itself was impressive, because it wasn't stupid. Such a well-thought-out, uncontrived plot element is very unusual in this type of film. I suspect they took this from established quantum physics theory; it is just too good to be a random story point.

Some of the acting is cornball, but still fun and tolerable. The real clincher / winner is the last 15 minutes of the movie, which likely could not have been better written or directed. This is often where a movie falls short; those last minutes can make or break a film. Fortunately for this one, it makes the film in a large way, and turns what might have been a UFO turkey into an unusually enjoyable winner.

This is one of those rare low-budget sleeper flicks that is well worth watching.

This Indie Has Some Truly Intriguing Things Going On
baccaruda113 September 2021
This is an indie film that paid close attention to production values, had good, logical locations, and there were some interesting scenarios that conveyed an intelligence not often seen in smaller films. I love watching indies to discover new, up-and-coming talent, in front of, and behind the camera. This film accomplished a lot with a micro budget, which I enjoy seeing. The lead actress, Gracie Lacey, is enormously appealing and I thought her work was very good. Her counterpart, Michael Carico also does an admirable job, but some of the script didn't do his character any favors in the romance writing department. The writing is mostly good (not to mention intelligent), but there were instances where his character's reactions to Lacey's character were out of the blue, and (in my view), Lacey's alien character would/should have ended the relationship on the spot. Maybe her alien character likes great hair, because Carico DEFINITELY has a luxurious mane! Overall though, a nice night at the movies!

Comedic Amatuer Aliens Among Us
mariuchka7 September 2021
Nice try but...Probably one of the silliest sci fi/fantasy movies I've ever watched. Amateurish, idealistic, as I'm watching it, it's really a comedy/love story. It's an Indie film and the acting is childish, like a couple of college kids put it together. It's supposed to be something about somebody seeing a UFO and then some dorky scientist young guy who's doing who knows what who can't figure out his equation and he meets a strange girl who's probably an alien but she looks a lot like Mandy from Last Man Standing and his kooky father who's not quite all with it, grief stricken amd a mess.

Terrible acting yet it's fascinating to see what these youngsters did with it. If you can stick through the acting you might like it but it's kind of silly. It might have been better if they had a good director and real actors but the story itself is far fetched or maybe not. Who knows for sure.

The only good moment is when the alien mother said "this world just isn't ready". The two pretty women in it are aliens, by the way they're beautiful aliens; beautiful women.

Different locations exits in every object??? Very comedic movie about aliens among us., Yet who knows?

Good elements, average acting
Hallelujah28915 January 2022
"Alienated" has a good set of elements to work with such as the Irish hoarder dad, his loss, and an astrophysicist problem of how to space travel. And then a quirky artist girl. I think the mystery in both the family tragedy and what happened and how to resolve it in the father son tensions is as interesting as the UFO sightings and what they could mean. Some decent performances but overall the lead male actor was just to uptight to lend believability to his romance. And also in generals actors gave a lax performance.

Decent flick, but not quite enough there.

Slow, badly scripted & directed, featuring truly dreadful acting
AthenaPN15 May 2022
Not enough beer in the world ...

There's a reason this is free on Amazon Prime, always - it's atrocious. Given the number of No votes on negative reviews & the weirdly glowing positive reviews I'm guessing the cast, crew & all their family members are frequently upvoting & positively reviewing this mess. They need to find different hobbies.

A pleasant surprise
feudalserfer22 June 2022
Warning: Spoilers
If, like me, you grow weary of big budget SF movies chock full with CGI, but empty on ideas, and worse, empty of heart, then you may find Alienated a very pleasant surprise. David Bennett (Michael Aaron Carico) is a struggling astrophysicist on the cusp of an incredible leap forward in science, but can't quite join all the dots. A young artist, Jordan (Gracie Lacey), comes into his life, and although she's ditzy, she immediately makes an impact with a sculpture that is identical to a UFO he saw just before they met. Naturally, there's more to her than meets the eye, and before long, David finds that she has surprising insights into his work.... Many decent low budget SF movies start off with a bang, and run out of steam, but Alienated gets more engaging as the story progresses, without ever going overboard. Add to that both main actors are likeable and play their parts with understated charm that is often missing from big budget blockbusters, and a supporting cast who more than just make up the numbers, and you have a charming little movie that's well worth watching.

Utterly Charming - Offbeat Alien Tale ♥♥♥♥
Enrique-Sanchez-563 April 2022
Once in a while, filmmakers conjure up an unique story about aliens that goes about it in a different way.

I didn't know what to expect - because there was little indication that this would be one of stories that grabbed you by a different tangent of your psyche.

This was not a film that was IN YOUR FACE like most sci-fi movies that thrust you into special-effects. On the contrary, you find yourself in what seems like a normal, quirky tale of people and how they meet aliens.

But maybe I am revealing too much already.

Suffice it to say, it was not a masterpiece, nor a bastion of stellar acting or celebrities. It was a small story that should engage those thirsty for a story versus being bombarded by effects and over-the-top scientific terminologies.

And I truly enjoyed the ride and the protagonists.

Recommended only for thoughtful individuals.

A fun indie
flgrovez11 December 2021
This is not overly complex and not groundbreaking cinema, but it is a fun film. The direction is competent and the acting is decent. The one exception is newcomer Gracie Lacey, who lights up the screen with an excess of charm and personality. Hopefully we will see her in much more. Overall a good night's viewing.

Truly Unique
nqbfvryq14 November 2021
The good. The gamine female lead is cute. The bad, the male lead seems intent on being Marty McFly's dad! Then there's the Irish accents which both jar and are irritating. There's no rationale to the family dynamics, and the male lead cannot act. He expostulates everything with an earnestness reminiscent of Burt Ward's Robin.. holy quantum dynamics Batman.

I believe the movie may have a plot but it isn't readily apparent.. it would make a great college media studies 20 minute short... but it is hypnotic in a watching a filmic road crash fashion..

Nicely told sci-fi tale
williamgway13 September 2021
This was a well-crafted and well acted sci-fi tale. The script is strong enough that the film doesn't have to rely on special effects and delivers a well acted and produced movie. I recommend it.

Good topic, keep making more
rbrenna-9731226 November 2021
A movie with some interesting themes that ring true for anyone interested in the UFO/ET/consciousness phenomenon.

The casting director is an experiencer as well as the writer and director (?).

The film is reasonably well acted by most of the performers.

The quality of the film doesn't do it justice.

The actor playing the dad is too young for the role, his acting didn't seem convincing and his Irish accent is so unfortunate. I wish to God you didn't make the parents Irish. Whyeeeee?

I hope the production company make more movies on this awesome topic and I hope to God they spend more money on it so it's better quality.

The Good and The Bad
charmed-8218524 October 2021
The Good parts of the movie - the story itself has potential.....The actress Gracie Lacy was the only decent actor in this movie.

The bad - all other actors, directing and effects, feels like a movie from the 80's. This should be redone by real professionals. Sorry DA.

Probably the worst movie ever
caldwells-3876520 December 2021
Amateur wooden acting, poor cinematography (was it shot on a cell phone?), stilted script. Was this someone's class project for a junior college film-making class?

The acting is stilted. The lines are cliche. The story is totally predictable. Nothing much even happens. Has a slight campy feel good value in it badness.
