At the Front with Respect

This is a much better episode than some of the previous ones. The action involves a call from a combat unit at the front. Henry has to enlist a doctor, a nurse, and a corpsman to help with a unit that is taking heavy casualties. Their surgeon has been killed. Hawkeye, Margaret, and Klingor are sent against their wishes. Still they do an admirable job while back at the 4077 the doctors are complaining about insignificant things. The threesome at the front begin to develop a true respect for one another. With Frank back causing problems at the camp, Margaret and Hawkeye are able to put the pettiness aside. Nothing happens with them, but Frank is beside himself. The conclusion is quite nicely done.

Turning Point

This episode was a turning point of the relationship of Hawkeye and Margaret. While they would still have an adversarial relationship it has changed. They have more respect for each other. It was also the beginning of the change of Margaret. She is beginning to see her relationship between Frank Burns is going nowhere. M*A*S*H is beginning to change from a satirical anti war comedy into more dramatic.

Changing perspectives

Sent to the frontline Hawkeye, Margaret and Klinger gain apperception for one another and for their humble and often uncomfortable but ultimately more stable conditions back at the 4077 . Trapper, Radar, Henry and Frank feel the void without the others . Klinger proves himself to Margaret while they will still have their differences in the future it was a turning point. He also gains respect for her and her strength and adjusting to the additional duties. Hawkeye and Margaret also see a shift in how they see each other. Still having their moments but less opposed to one another. As they head back to camp Hawkeye and Klinger compliment Margaret she is touched she even laughs along with Hawkeye when Klinger returns to his usual attire! Nice moments between the three . Trapper and Frank can't believe what did and didn't happen and Klinger has a very funny exchange with Radar . The very end shows what Hawkeye and Margaret have gained from their experience while Trapper and Frank complain about the conditions.
