Pure (2019) is another Into the Dark movie available for free on Hulu. The storyline focuses on a group of teenage girls who go to a "purity camp" with their fathers to promise they will remain "pure" until marriage. As the girls talk they have very different perspectives on their camp experience. Meanwhile, the camp and its counselor will challenge the girls purity in a series of unforeseen tests. This movie is directed by Hannah Macpherson (Sick House & Trinkets) and stars Jahkara Smith (NOS492), McKaley Miller (Ma), Ciara Bravo (A Teacher) and Scott Porter (Speed Racer). The storyline is interesting in its own way and the characters and acting of the female campers were good (the dads and the counselors not so much). There were opportunities in this to be way more intense but they didn't ratchet it up to its potential. I liked the ending and enjoyed the movie for what it was. I'd score it a 5.5/10 and would recommend it if nothing else is on.
