Unlike most of the reviews of this documentary, mine is positive. I thought it was interesting but heartbreaking. I didn't feel anything negative about the mother, I pitied her. She was as much a victim as her daughter was. Her life circumstances didn't give her many choices as to how she was going to support herself and her children. She did what she knew how to do, and when she knew better, she did better. No judgment here.
All in all, I found this an interesting film. Sad, but a good glimpse into the lives of many people who drew the short end of the stick in life.
