Review of The Goonies

The Goonies (1985)
7/10
Its own pure charm

I really didn't think I would enjoy this, but it was actually alright.

They do scream a lot in the beginning, which became annoying extremely quick, and it just kept going through half the movie, where they luckily tone it down a notch. This is where this movie begins to shine.

And... I actually found myself rooting for these characters and ended up liking their individual traits even if they might be a bit shallow, but in some way that docent matter. As the group isn't some big band of superheroes, but instead just a group of kids and teens having fun accidentally stumpeling across a treasure map.

If any of us found a treasure map as kids we would go mental, and dive right into the adventure head first without thinking of the consequences. - Just go and have fun - Just like the goonies did. This is something we all wished happened to us as kids no matter if you grew up in the 80's, 90's, 20's.

I can definitely see the charm that the 80's kids would have gotten from the goonies. It's just a pure quirky movie, with funny and dumb jokes, thats great for basically everyone. It docent evolve or do anything ground breaking, and is even predictable in a few areas, but it defiantly succeeds in just being a good time and im glad I watched it at least once.
