Last call for Flight 666...
paul_haakonsen10 December 2019
Actually the 2018 movie "Flight 666" wasn't really as bad as one might initially expect it to be.

I sat down to watch it because I enjoy horror movies, and I wasn't familiar with the movie prior to finding it by sheer, random luck. And it being a horror movie, and of course containing the 666 part, made me want to watch it.

The storyline that writers Jacob Cooney and Brandon Stroud came up with was actually entertaining enough for what it turned out to be. However, this is not a grand moment in horror cinema. But "Flight 666" turned out to be entertaining, enjoyable and watchable enough for what it was.

The acting in the movie was adequate. Now the movie doesn't really have anyone overly familiar or famous on the cast list, for better or worse. I enjoyed that, because it was a heap of mostly new faces on the screen. And I do like watching movies with actors and actresses that I haven't seen before and associate with other established roles.

As for the horror part. Well, let's just say that this is where the movie was lacking contents. I am sure that some younger viewers might find certain things in the movie a bit scary. But for a seasoned horror veteran such as myself, this was a mere stroll in the park.

While "Flight 666" is watchable, it is hardly a movie that you will watch more than a single time though.

My rating of director Rob Pallatina's 2018 movie is a five out of ten stars.

It's not electrical

Warning: Spoilers
The film opens with a serial killer of women and then jumps to an airplane flight. Our job is to figure out the connection without reading the by-line. The flight is in a permanent storm that follows them from LA to NYC. We are introduced to several of the characters on this very small flight, a plane that appears to be smaller on than inside than what the plane model would indicate. Quickly a passenger sees a strange "Dutchman" and his name is not Bob Wilson. The passengers have visions and start to put together clues.

This is an Asylum film. Not the worst horror film. Something slightly different, but still with a feeling of going nowhere. Not as good as "Airplane vs Volcano" but not as silly either.

Guide: No swearing, sex, or nudity.

If you don't expect much you might be entertained.
Martin_Skovgaard22 August 2023
I am a bit hard to please these days. I am 48 years old and have watched and enjoyed movies all my life.

Often I spend 30 minutes browsing on Netflix and then end up going to bed because it all looks like crap.

I stumbled over Flight 666.

Flight 666 is obviously a low budget movie, but I sometimes like low budget movies (especially from 80s) better than big billion dollar movies, because they are nothing more than CGI show cases.

I started watching Flight 666 expecting to only last 20 minutes but I watched it all and was mildly entertained throughout. Can't expect more these days :)

It must be better than Terminator Dark Fate, because I could not finish that one :)

I think it worked for me because it focused on characters even if they were not deep or anything. Acting probably wasn't the best either although I don't notice that as much as some people do.

Outside airplane effects were not good. Plane were all over the place shaking like a very light model in the wind. Not how I imagine a plane would move.

But this doesn't really matter much.

The movie is not very scary. There is the occasional jump scare which you see a mile away. Later the "scary things" are shown to much and too long which removes all sense of horror. Makeup effects were pretty good.

I recommend the movie if you are the type who can look past bad effects and set you expectations according to the budget of the movie. Maybe you have to be in the mood for it also.

If you like Marvel movies, don't bother.

The CIA's newest enhanced interrogation technique Warning: Spoilers
The scariest part of this film: knowing that investors will not see a return on their money. I believe that the director of this film has never been on a flight in his life. There is wayyyy too much space between the seats. There's a bunch of open seats. All the internal lights are on throughout the entire flight even though it's supposed to be a red eye flight. The captain and first officer somehow wear the same rank on their uniforms. And, there's a sequence in which the plane loses power, stalls, and spins for 30+ seconds, and when the pilot regains control of the aircraft, they are still somehow surprisingly at cloud level. Furthermore, the O2 masks do not drop from the ceiling. I'm pretty sure a 13 year old did all the research for this film and wrote the storyline. Watch only if you have 90 minutes of your life to waste.

Should have been called "Airplane" 666
neil-swift-234533 June 2018
For those of you of a certain age this was like a remake of Airplane but was not funny. I tell a lie, I did actually chuckle at a few points, even though I probably wasn't supposed to. I was half expecting Leslie Neilson to walk on at one point to "calm" the passenger down. Bad acting, bad script and just too many elements that you spend time questioning instead of watching. I gave it two stars because it made me laugh.

Tech advisor where are you? Biggest oops of all time!
theperaltateam7 December 2018
I have to admit even though for a "B" movie it was entertaining. If there is a lower catagory then it belongs there. Definitely seemed like it was a college student making this flick for a class project or something.

I do give them credit for showing the correct plane and cockpit set up but that's where it ends and the technical gaffs abound. For one that plane needs 3 pilots to fly it. They were missing their Flight engineer. Many smaller gaffs in the script for the actual flying and procedures but the biggest gaff of all, the biggest movie mistake of all time that I have ever come across is that the whole time while they were flying.....the cockpit sliding windows were open !!!!!! Tech advisor where are you????? All of the interior cockpit scenes where shot with the windows open. Initially this was probably done for the pilot close ups but then someone was supposed to close them.

Holy Mother of God My Eyes Are Bleeding (and not in the good way)
emailofstuff24 September 2019
I chose this movie for the purview of my viewing pleasure after jumping into the middle and watching about 1 minute. Dear sweet baby christ did I choose wrong. At some point or another during the course of this film, I became convinced that I had died a terrible death, gone to hell, and my eternal punishment for my great many unearthly sins was to watch this film, which in and of itself felt like an eternity.

To say this film is a travesty against all mankind is an understatement, the equivalent of which is like saying you wouldn't enjoy an entire eggplant being forcibly shoved into your rectum. That is to say that you would, in fact, enjoy the experience about as much as I enjoyed this movie.

0/10 would rather stab myself in the nipples with syringes full of Frank's Red Hot than watch this trash again.

No terror whatsoever on this flight
TheLittleSongbird22 June 2018
'Flight 666' drew me into seeing it, with a cool poster/cover, an intriguing if not particularly original premise and as someone with a general appreciation for horror. That it was low-budget, which from frequent personal experience is rarely a good sign due to that there are so many poor ones out there, made me though apprehensive as well as the low rating and poor reviews.

It is sadly however yet another film seen recently, hence some reiteration because the exact same strengths and flaws those films have are present here, that to me was incredibly disappointing considering its potential which it doesn't do anywhere near enough with. 'Flight 666' is terrible, with a plethora of problems (huge ones too) and doesn't do enough with its potential, which was hardly small. There is next to nothing to recommend.

Lets start with the sole positive. The setting is atmospheric and spooky.

Unfortunately, it is not done justice by the rather direct to video schlocky way it's shot and edited and the drab colour palette, so much so it was hard to appreciate it, it was very clear that the film was made in a rush with no care or enthusiasm. In particular, the camera work was a nauseous assault on the eyes with its excessive amateurish-ness.

Going on further to the negatives, the story does feel paper thin, disjointed and over-stretched and some of it feels vague, under-explained in the last third where the film especially became duller, more predictable, more senseless and less scary. Too many characters are too sketchy and with nowhere near enough to make one want to endear to them. Their annoying and illogical decision making and behaviours frustrates.

Making the film feel bland and forgettable with not enough heart put into it. The effects are ropy at best, the sound quality is obvious and utilised cheaply (being too loud in the build ups and people's reactions) and it's best not mentioning the uniformly lumbering and histrionic acting that shows a huge indifference to the situation and what is going on.

Dialogue can be stilted and rambling, with lots of clichés, lots of unintentional humour that makes some of the film play like a really bad spoof and no depth whatsoever, while the pace goes to a standstill very quickly and drags on forever with very little going on worth caring about and useless padding, never recovering. Found too many the supposedly shocking moments not surprising or scary and the supposedly creepy atmosphere dreary, due to the excessive obviousness, a lot of dumb and vague moments and explanations and the lack of tension and suspense. Would not have minded the lack of originality (the film is extremely derivative and in a dumbed and watered down way) if the story and atmosphere were at least alright in execution, in reality they were both very poorly done.

A lot of 'Flight 666' has underdeveloped plot elements and often nonsensical and confusing character motivations, while too many of the things to make you jump or shocked are far from creative or scary and are pretty tame. The ending makes the film finish on an incomplete and confused whimper.

There is not enough threat, and what there is of it tends to be used poorly, it is completely unimaginative and more odd than creepy, completely failing to show any sense of horror or creativity. Everything here is neither creative, suspenseful or nail-biting. Some badly sagging momentum too. The direction is leaden and like their heart was not in it or ill at ease, with the chemistry between the characters and actors coming over as constantly random and aggressive with the subtlety of an axe.

Overall, awful with no redeeming value apart from an element that is difficult to appreciate with it being complemented so badly. 1/10 Bethany Cox

Reminded me of the Twilight Zone movie. Better than expected.
ivegotgeemail19 October 2018
I had low expectations for this movie. The acting was surprisingly good for a low budget thriller. I was a little disappointed because it was labeled a "horror" movie which it really isn't. If you're a real movie fan that can appreciate a quality low budget film, it's surprisingly good. If you're a zombie who only likes Hollywood blockbusters then don't watch it. You're too dense to understand this kind of art. I wasn't trying to be pretentious, but if it came off that way, who cares? I probably wouldn't like you anyway. 6/10. Worth watching for sure.

C grade everything
michaelrthomson5 June 2018
Sure, you don't go into this expecting quality like 'A Passage to India', but you might hope for somewhat convincing entertainment, reasonably accurate or realistic events supporting the unfolding story, but alas.

The acting is at best dull and lacklustre, the story itself is completely stupid and really makes little to no sense at all even in the days of the 'me too' movement, and then there are the impossible behaviours of the aircraft, and the utter nonsense that is supposed to be how/what pilots and cabin crew do in any given situation. If you have ever flown on a plane, or worked on one, then the inaccuracies will be enough to make you scream and want to gouge your eyes out, the plane should have been in pieces on the ground, and crew like that would be fired, and seat row 25 is 7 rows from the front - couldn't they afford to rent the entire fake plane for this?

All in all though, its just a terribly stupid film with a stupid premise, complete nonsense and lack of any sense of basic physics, and the acting is of the calibre I would expect from 10 year old kids at the annual Christmas play.

If you're really desperate for some C grade amusement, go for it, otherwise, this is just a horror in the very literal sense.

Unwarranted Negative Reviews, I enjoyed it
rosemaryandthyme22 April 2020
After reading all the low reviews here I watched this thinking it was going to be a stinker, however I was pleasantly surprised that it was enjoyable and kept my attention from start to finish. Acting and special effects were good (anyone who has a fear of flying like myself could relate to the atmosphere that was conveyed) and the killer was somewhat a surprise. I can't believe reviewers are griping about the size of the plane or that the stripes on the pilots were incorrect, it's a movie about ghosts on a plane for heaven's sake and you want accuracy? It's all about entertainment and yes this was fun and kept my interest.

I am disappointed in reviews here lately, either they give 10's for stinkers or unwarranted 1's and for this reason I would take most reviews here with a grain. You will know within the first 10 mins if you will enjoy a movie so don't let unfair reviews spoil it, give it a go.

Nah. Not scary. Bad Acting. Just Bad.
wandernn1-81-68327419 October 2021
This movie is pretty bad. A movie where people on the flight start seeing things on the plane. In bad weather. A plot completely stolen from the Shatner episode of Twilight Zone from the 60's. It takes it a few steps further, with hallucinations of ghosts and spoiled food.

And what it really boils down to is a group of ghostly victims hunting down their murderer on the plane. It's really a poor story and not a good movie at all.

3/10.

College Material Low Budet Crap
LordCommandar3 June 2018
This wasn't completely awful ,but you can definitely see that its college material and low budget. Just too many inconsistencies in the script and the acting was amateur. But like I said it's college material and low budget. I just watched it to see if I would be able to write that I was surprised but in a good way, but I wassn't because I had very low expectations of this crapfest, so I wasn't let down at all. Not recommended at all, unless you are wanting to make films and want to see what mistakes you shouldn't make as far casting, script and directing from the this stink bomb. All others, please don't waste time on this one.

Someone put me out of my misery!
TerribleKatherine10 November 2019
I saw that someone gave this film 7/10? Was that person on heavy drugs while reviewing?! This film is so horribly boring. It's not particularly bad, but it is so mind numbingly boring that I wish I had the courage to jump off of the balcony. First of all, there is no sense in the plot. Like, NO sense AT ALL. Second of all, everything is extremely flat. No character and no passion. Even watching really bad movies you can see the passion and the creativity behind all, but this.. Oh my god, there is no pulse. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME ON THIS POS.

Absolutely terrible. The worst movie I've ever seen. Not entertaining at all with no plot or story. The 2 rating is for all the other graphic scenes and the acting but the story was extremely bad.

A couple good creepy scenes with failed special effects
cncsurf13 July 2018
I enjoyed the movie for what it was. Once you get over the bad CGI and ridiculous airplane set there is some surprisingly good actors and a fairly solid revenge from the grave plot. It is what it is from the Asyulum crew but pretty enjoyable with some well acted and well filmed creep out scenes.

Terror In The Skies Once Again
Camelot_200019 July 2023
There's no "Snakes On A Plane" in this film. There's not even an airplane malfunction or terrorist attack like in the 'Airport' movies from the 1970s. It all has to do with the supernatural and fairly succeeds on that level. A wicked thunderstorm, of course, enhances the eerie setting where the passengers act nervous about the turbulence while the flight attendants comfort them. It's a tense situation where some of the passengers seemingly start to go "mad" about what they're seeing in the washroom and out the windows. There are grotesque visions afoot and it's all brushed off at first as panic about the thunderstorm, but later on, there's a realization that something sinister is going on.

I thought the military beefcake known as Austin would take a handle on the uncontrollable spooks that were happening. He seemed to easily take control whenever the passengers reached a hysteria, but it was the equally beefy police detective known as Thad who took command of things. Austin wasn't really given much to do even though he carried the potential. I thought he should have. It was like having Arnold Schwarzenegger standing idly by while the action reaches a zenith.

It eventually plays out like an Agatha Christie-who-done-it with the realization that two murdered women were haunting the plane and were trying to reveal who it was that murdered them. This movie was clever, I thought I had the identity of the killer pegged, but was proven totally wrong afterwards. You just have to follow along until the answer comes towards the end.

I admit I've always liked these "panic in the skies" type of flicks and this one delivers though it definitely isn't high caliber regarding a true airline disaster. It's more or less a ghost story in the same vein as "The Amityville Horror", but takes place on a jet instead of a haunted house. This movie isn't the best, but it delivers on dishing out shocks and thrills in the horror genre. I just wish Austin was the hero out of it all. He was so HOT.

Decent Movie
the_doofy21 August 2018
I sometimes find a movie with nothing but bad reviews and a low rating in IMDB, and then I see that in a site where people have actually watched it and rated it that it is much higher. This is one of those movies.

I'm not gonna bother with the pros and cons of this particular movie, but i will say this,--IF you are curious about this movie, watch it, U will enjoy it

Enough said.

Welcome horror air, nonstop service to your worst nightmare.
uscmd15 March 2021
Really deserves a higher rating. Granted some plot holes and illogical actions by many. But a thriller with many plot twists that will keep you guessing, right to the end.

Valuable lesson......don't not watch (I know 2x neg) a movie just because the group has given it a sub 5 rating. Of course this works both ways 6+ may not be your thing, sub 4 might be. One of the things I love about movies.

If you are looking for a late night 'spooky' to keep your girlfriend nice and close.....you could do a lot worse. Honest

Worst film Ever
utopianikos15 September 2018
This was one of the worst films I have seen in years. The idea was good but the way the script was written was appaling. The acting was poor and was more like a comedy rather than a horror. I ended up seeing it till the end to see if it improved but sadly I just wasted over an hour. If I could give a minus star I would give plenty.
