My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3 (2023)
Very Disappointing.
I was so looking forward to this trilogy and was very disappointed. The idea of going back to their fathers roots was good but trying to incorporate this with a wedding was a let down. Either it was a big fat Greek wedding or not. The humour was boring and not funny and depicted the Greek people as less then intelligent. The part where Toulla is suggesting to her husband that she fancied the Greek man who turned out to be her unknown brother was only not funny but something people would not do and he taking it as a joke was equally strange. The wedding itself ended up being a Syrian wedding not my big fat Greek wedding and suggesting that the empty homes should be used to house Syrian refugees was political and this film was not the place for it and would not sit well with Greeks at a time when there is a refugee issue. I would have like more natural greek humour and certainly a greek wedding, no political statements and a more humour based on Greek customs..
Hypothermia (2010)
Unrealistic and Boring
I thought this might be a good film to watch. The beginning of the movie seem to be quite good and leading to some excitement. However the movie turned out to be boring and more comical than expected. The so called creature that has appeared was so unrealistic and clearly looked like a man in a cheap diving suit. The attacks on the family was also so laughable and the ending was a great let down. When they are trying to escape the truck has just disappeared with no explanation where or how which then means the family has to walk on the ice. The so called creature then could understand when the wife was talking to it to let them go and apologised for invading its territory and of course she closes her eyes looks up and the creature is gone. Boring laughable and not worth watching in my view.
The Good Neighbor (2022)
Very Predictable
Was quite excited to watch this film as I enjoy watching thrillers. I felt that the trailer was more exciting then the actual film. The plot was very predictable and I had worked out what was going to happen and the plot from the start. Nevertheless I did continue until the end which was somewhat what I expected but with an added puzzling surprise. The actor Jonathan Meyers didn't really fit the part and certainly I was very disappointed with his acting which doesn't really reflect his previous films. It was also quite disappointing to see Bruce Grant as this again does not reflect his long career in films. His part in this was quite short and the outcome and exit was again predictable and disappointing. There was quite a bit of foreign language spoken which was very disappointing. Nevertheless I would recommend watching the film if you like this type of movie and ensure that you watch until the end.
Chosen (2013)
Started off Well then got Boring
The idea behind this was quite good and exciting at first. The actors played well but the whole idea became far fetched and at times repetitive. The main issue I have is the storyline which at times didn't make sense. The character for example is given a time frame to kill or be killed or your loved one killed then before your time is up or barely even started someone is out to kill the character. This to me doesn't flow correctly and spoils the excitement. The ending of series three isn't a good finale and as it's not clear if they are going to carry it on was a huge disappointment. On the other hand I can understand why they may not continue this series so would have preferred to see the loose ends tied up rather than leave it to the watchers imagination. Would I recommend someone to watch? Not sure as I think most would tire but nevertheless worth a watch even if it's to judge my review.
The Meg (2018)
Disappointed
I had high hopes for this film but was sadly disappointed. The shark looked more like a toy and the whole film was a cross between a comedy and serious but boring film. The jaws films which were made years ago looked and felt more real then this one and that says it all. I don't know how it won an award think the awardees must have been asleep.
Flight 666 (2018)
Worst film Ever
This was one of the worst films I have seen in years. The idea was good but the way the script was written was appaling. The acting was poor and was more like a comedy rather than a horror. I ended up seeing it till the end to see if it improved but sadly I just wasted over an hour. If I could give a minus star I would give plenty.
