I visited this concert in O2 arena in Prague in May 2016 and it was magnificent experience. There was an amazing atmosphere throughout the concert, high quality of sound, breathtaking light effects and perfect musicians, of course. So, it was extraordinary experience, which I will never forget. The music documentary is a very good memory for this fantastic moment and shows very nice details from this concert.

While I never got the chance to watch this performance live, I bought the Blu-Ray and played it back on my own home theater which compromises of SVS Ultra speakers and subwoofers.
On to the performance, it's simply an exhilarating thrill of pure music - played by a multitude of musicians who IMO simply doesn't get enough credit. Everyone played their part to near perfection, everyone was a specialist in their own way. There was no sense of races, no sense of religion, it was simply music and music at its very best.
There isn't much to say other than watch this concert on a system that is capable of bringing your roof down. This concert deserves that much attention to really feel its immense energy.

I saw this show in Boston. You will be viewing all these musicians at the top of there game. And this stage is like the UN. Musicians are from around the planet.Try to watch this on a good sound system - you will not be disappointed.
Hans Zimmer is our century's Beethoven.

I wasn't aware of who Hans Zimmer was until The Dark Knight.. I saw a special they had detailing the journey to create "The Joker's Theme".. the way he explained it and created the piece was brilliant.. in essence, he wanted whosoever hears it to always know there's something hovering around.. a menace almost.. everyone should feel uneasy and on the edge of their seats.. it was right then and there I knew the brilliance of Hans. I didn't google his resume or know what movies he's done but this concert? Do yourself a favor and watch it.. turn up the music, sit back and you'll be smiling beginning to end
That's what good sound systems are made for!

I have a sort of ambigious opinion when it comes to Hans Zimmer. He seems a little arrogant in interviews and has created something of a recognizable 'Hans Zimmer sound', especially in the 90s with his scores of Crimson Tide, The Rock and the sorts. I didn't think he was that versatile and quite often I thought he composed some rather uninspired scores.
But then I watched this performance on bluray on a good sound system... and was blown away.
When you compare the ethereal soundtrack of Gladiator to the spiritful Lion King, to the tearjerking Chevaliers of Sangreal or to the almost brutal Dark Knight you can't help but marvel at the sheer emotional power these pieces develop.
The musicians are all top notch and seem to be having fun on stage. Zimmer also has lots of nice words to say about everybody and doesn't seem arrogant at all. He's just a musician in his element.
The performance is nicely captured and the sound quality is simply breathtaking.
See this if you're a lover of powerful, emotional music and like watching great musicians at work!

Zimmer was born with an enormous gift. His music encompasses sublime beautify and enormous power and heft. He creates haunting themes and powerful orchestrations across a wide swath of instrumentation, from Classics to Rock, and beyond. If possible, listen to his music on a full hi-fi system...portable devices cannot convey the emotional impact. I hesitate to apply the word 'genius' in music but Zimmer deserves it - he is self taught.
(For those interested - the drummer's name is Satnam Singh Ramgotra. He isn't listed in the IMDb credits, for some strange reason. )

This is a fabulous concert. I only wish I could have had the honour of experiencing it live.
Zimmer has penned the scores to countless blockbuster movies, and they are presented here in the most glorious way. The arrangements are first class, the lighting is fantastic, the musicians are on-point as well as exceptionally stylish. Several of the players look like supermodels. And, being a huge fan of Batman, I found it exhilarating to experience several of the tracks from the Nolan trilogy presented in this way.
Highly recommended.

Hans Zimmer stands in my top three list of favorite composers of all time, the other two being Thomas Newman and John Williams. To hear and watch this on Blu-ray is simply a feast for ears and eyes. being a drummer myself, I have great respect for any kind of music style and instrument, but Satnam Ramgotra always leaves me wanting for more... This is a must have for film music fans..

His themes apparently appeal to the easily entertained person who likes simple bombast and sentimentality. A whole bunch of musicians on stage looking like they're really doing something special and Zimmer sitting there with a fake wondrous look on his face.
There are so many artists on youtube who release better music each week, and then you come across older composers like Stelvio Cipriani who blow the pants off Zimmer.
Zimmer makes Enya sound really exciting and Trans Siberian Orchestra is miles ahead of this. This man is absolutely unworthy of the respect he gets and anyone comparing him to the Backstreet Boys let alone Mozart needs to be dealt with.

I have been a huge fan of Hans Zimmer ever since I saw my first movie in theatres, The Lion King. This concert was an absolute thrill from start to finish and each and every piece was so wonderfully played and orchestrated. Watched this in my home theatre with 5.1 surround sound and it was as close as being there live! The musicians were all the best of the best and it was so great to see that both women musicians and men musicians are so very talented at what they do. The drums will excite you, the violins will amaze you and the wind instruments will blow you away. It was fantastic that he brought Lebo M. who is the actual singer of many themes from The Lion King. The Pirates of the Caribbean score was EPIC and I love the The Dark Knight Trilogy scores so much, it was such a joy to hear them. I didn't stop bobbing my head or smiling till it was done. If you love Hans's scores, I highly recommend you watch this, as it will exhilarate you!

I wanted to cry through out. Hearing my favorite pieces from my favorite movies in this beautiful performance is breathtaking. His new music for DUNE is his best to me because I never been transported to another world so vividly like in that of Dune. Hans is not just a national treasure, but a world treasure for all to enjoy his music.

I spent thousands on my Atmos home cinema and have found a soundtrack to really show it off. If you have 7 speakers or more then you need to get the Blu ray and ensure you upgrade to Atmos if you have not already. Stupendous and mind blowing.

Not only is the show stellar the bluray in full surround aound will blow you away... just listening to the whole show and watching the musicians at the top.of their game... puts hairs on your neck!!! Watch this from start to finish! If you can watch on a top end syatem youre truly in for an incredible spectable!!!

Absolutely perfect and briliiant work by Hans Zimmer and his team. Outstanding music and nowhere else to be seen. Tickets are also affordable, but please don't all go buy for the show in Prague next time - I need two tickets reserved.
First time in 2022 without Lisa Gerrard due to her being sick by covid-19. This year, same place, in Prague, she attended. Super talented and one of the greatest voices of all time. Loire Cutler is also extremely good!
If I would suggest something - then, of personal reasons, include "The Docking Scene" and "Mountains". These are two of the best songs from Interstellar.

This concert gave me an obscene amount of goosebumps, especially during The Lion King section, which was especially beautiful.
Zimmer's one of the GOATs, even if some of his themes blend together a little (they probably shouldn't have done Gladiator back to back with Pirates of the Caribbean, is all I'm saying).
I also liked the fact this felt more like a rock concert that an ordinary composer conducting an orchestra type of concert. It's mostly well-filmed, and I even liked Zimmer's awkward little bits of commentary that were placed between the various sections of music. I think for anyone who's enjoyed a Hans Zimmer score, watching this concert recording is a no-brainer.

I cannot stress enough how majestic this concert was! Definately once in a lifetime experince.
You don't have to know a whole lot about films or music, you'll get the chills and enjoy it anyway. I know I did and I wish I could be there, to feel the energy, live from the audience.
Hans Zimmer, the orchestra and the perfomers deserves all the applaue in the world for blessing our ears like that. Special shout-out to Zimmer for being the genius that he is and has been, for so many years. He's so iconic and his stamp is all over the biggest pop culture moments. How can you not appreciate that???
