Aurevoir Camille.

Surely a hen party would be the happiest group on the island, scratch the veneer and dark secrets appear, as well as murder.

It's clever the way that Florence's fate was left in the hands of Humphrey, clearly lovesick and desperate for her to say, this is truly Kris Marshall at his absolute best, there are no funny falls or slapstick moments, he's sincere and convincing, excellent here

I have found Series four a little bit hit and miss, but this was truly excellent, a cracking episode, and a great send off for Camille. The mystery was a clever one, and the solution comes as a big surprise.

You can kind of see why Florence was brought in, a natural replacement for Camille.

An excellent episode, 9/10.

Not great!

The fourth season of "Death in Paradise" has not been on the level as the first two were. "Stab in the Dark" was a pretty good start to the season, but after that there hasn't been a solid episode. Even though "Until Death Do You Part" is a good entry to the series, though it's still light years away from the show's best.

Let's start with good, shall we?

. The production values of this episode are great as usual. Everything sounds and looks amazing. The acting's enjoyable too. Rosie Cavaliero fares the best of the guest stars.

. The murder mystery is mostly compelling with an intriguing crime, nice twists, turns and quirky humor.

. The subplot about Humphrey letting Camille go Paris was emotional as well.

But all that aside, I did have problems with "Until Death Do You Part".

. To be completely honest, there is only one strong suspect (Betty) in this entire charade of characters. All of the other people in the mystery are like vessels to propel the plot along. Not much is given to them and they are just wandering in and out of frame. And that's why the solution, where turns out Betty did the deed after all, did not struck me in any way.

. Also, it's a shame that the love story between DI Goodman and Camille was a dead end and nothing was done with the idea after all.

Overall, a good episode, but at times a bit underwhelming.

7/10 HK

Camille Bordey, death in a bridal party

Warning: Spoilers
This is the swansong episode of DS Camille Bordey (the beautiful and talented Sara Martins) who was one of the original characters. I would have liked to have Humphrey Goodman declare his undying love for Bordey but not to be. Anyway, Bordey left to take up a post in Paris. Bordey was replaced by Florence Cassell (played by the extraordinarily beautiful and stunning Josephine Jobert) who was introduced in season 4 ep 1 when she replaced Fidel Best (Gary Carr) whose final episode was season 3 ep 8.

The murdered victim, Jenny is played by the incredibly stunning and attractive Ali Bastian. It's a shame she didn't have much screen time, as the victims are eliminated before the opening credits roll.

One enigma is the Police Commissioner Selwyn Patterson (played by distinguished actor Don Warrington) who periodically saunters in, checking in on the team originally led by Richard Poole (Ben Miller) until his untimely death in season 1 ep3, and then Humphrey Goodman (Kris Marshall) who picked up where Poole left off. I remember one episode in season 5 Goodman asking "What does the Commissioner do all day?!" The producers should seriously think about having a spin-off series called "The Commissioner" about the Commissioner of course.

Also, if the producers run out of ideas they can have a spin-off series called Camille set in Paris.

One of my favorite phrases from Death in Paradise, "He kept himself to himself" or "She kept herself to herself" - a peculiar English/British phrase!

One of the most capable performers I have seen left and I was very disappointed left with a whimper and not a bang!

DS Camille Bordey is a true moment of geniuses by the writer and the Sara Martins portrayal of the character should have been recognized added to the fact she managed to continue with the Kris Marshall weaker but fun character and not miss a step when with their scene steeling antics

The actress departure I feel will be felt as the show was better with the 2 male 2 Female split not to say I wanted Dwayne or JP to leave these boys are always 5 stars 10/10

The was however one problem I never believed at any time and I think I am right that DS Bordey had any romantic feelings for DI Goodman. I get he liked her a lot (Love?) but she met this Married accedent prowen detective who was sent from London to investigate the Murder of The Love of her LIfe so bit of a non starter

Bu the back and forth for the DI was belivible the kiss good bye not so much

So good bye good luck and see you around DS Camille Bordey(Sara Martins)
