Bride to be Jenny Burgess is holding her hen party on the island with friends Betty, Ivy and Sal when she is found drowned in her bath - clearly not an accident. Bridegroom Simon tells the police Jenny rang him with something she needed to discuss before she died. Furthermore Simon once dated one of the friends, who reacted badly when he broke with her, whilst another one of the hens was seen receiving money from the victim and the third committed an indiscretion which Jenny found out. Goodman deduces who killed Jenny but is unable to overcome a personal problem when another staff change looms.—don @ minifie-1
DI Humphrey Goodman and the team investigate the death of tourist Jenny Goodman who is found in her hotel bath having apparently drowned. Humphrey's suspicions are confirmed when the post mortem reveals that although she did drown, she also has a severe bump on her head and was likely held under the water. She was in Sainte-Marie for her hen party along with her fiancé's sister and other friends. The log for the electronic key card to her room suggests that Jenny likely knew her killer and them in. A cork from the wine bottle provides the primary clue leading to the killer. Meanwhile, Humphrey learns that Camille's future rests in his hands as he has the final decision on whether to release her to join the police force in Paris.—garykmcd
