Bridgerton Season 2 is my favortie!
hannahlmiller28 March 2022
I loved this season. While it wasn't super true to the writing, it still had the heart of the book and I appreciate that.

My only complaint is that there was too much side story. There simply was not enough Anthony and Kate and that really stinks. I felt like them finally getting together was rush and it is such a flaw. I would have loved to seen more of them together.

Season Two made me a Bridgerton fan
tealisa17 April 2022
I have no idea what happened in the writer's room in between season one and two of this show, but whatever it was, keep it coming. I watched the first one and laughed the whole thing through because I found it so ridiculous, but I actually fell in love with the main couple on this one - I actually VERY MUCH enjoyed their slowburn romance and their intimate scenes felt earned and never missed.

The entire drama and plot of the season also felt more fun to watch, and the only reason I'm giving it a 9/10 really is because the side romances of Colin and Penelope and Eloise and what's his name felt so forced I was annoyed to watch their scenes.

I don't know who the bridgerton team thinks they're fooling by pretending this version of Eloise likes men, much less by pretending like her "romance" alongside Colin and Pen's ""fling"" (if you can call it that) can carry a season the way Anthony and Kate did. Whatever they do next, I hope they realise that and keep the great romance writers responsible for the main couple, because they sure know what they're doing.

Surprisingly good
Ajanif25 March 2022
I didn't much care for the first season of Bridgerton. It seemed to be very much counting on the fact that sex sells - which it apparently also did with the season being renewed for a 2nd, 3rd and 4th season. I'm glad that this part got toned down this time around.

Season two very much surprised be in the way that it did go more into depths on certain characters psyche and character development - mostly Anthony. The newer take on a love triangle as well as the beautifully portrayed inner conflicts of many of the characters helped over look the sometimes rather long stretched side plots and the not so well scripted and "in your face" empowerment lines.

Overall a big improvement and a season that will keep you rooting, crying, laughing and - of course - entertained.

More enjoyable than the Season 1
RebeccaKeys841 April 2022
I enjoyed season 2 more than season 1 and have seen most episodes multiple times. I also haven't read the books, so it helps that I'm not making that comparison. I'm a big fan of Pride & Prejudice and season 2 reminded me a lot of that. Kate and Anthony had better chemistry even though they weren't together than the Duke and Daphne did their entire season. I also really liked the bits of humor throughout the season. I haven't cared for the Featherington storyline in either season though and I wish we saw them less. I also wish we'd gotten more time this season with Kate and Anthony together as a couple, but I guess they'll pop up next season. Like most, I was a big fan of the Duke in season 1, but I didn't miss him this season. That said, his lack of presence was obvious though because Daphne was very much in the season and at big events, it was odd that he wasn't there. All in all, season 2 was a good one and is worth the watch.

Fabulous, I can't stop watching it again and again!
nabilaharrold31 March 2022
This series eclipses the previous one by far, it is like I got to watch Pride and prejudice extended version but instead of Keira knightlry it was a vibrant indian girl. I could not get enough, I not even Indian but the diversity was refreshing. The dialogues were remarkable, even that peacock moment where the two mums laugh their hearts out. I just adored it. Trust me because I know my movies and I am fussy but my word I could feel that lust and pain. Thank you guys!!!

A Satisfying Ending for the Dear Readers
copperrd6 April 2022
This season did not give us the full love-story development such as last season, but it still gave us just enough, and wanting more. The flashbacks of Anthony earlier in the season really helped build on his character, and gave the audience a better look inside his head. I really wished they would have gave Kate a flashback just to give some visual to her story. The storytelling for her lacked, and even a few small clips showing how she got where she was at the time of the present season would have made this season complete. Penelope's character seemed to change a little this season as well, and something felt off with her from mid-sean on. Overall though, I was thoroughly entertained, and look forward to the future scandals lurking in the Ton.

Pulls All The Right Strings - "Bridgerton" S02 Review
JoshuaMercott10 April 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Plenty of fresh surprises were in store for us 'readers' in this season of "Bridgerton". The show was strangely addictive, particularly for me who is not generally into historical romance. Such fine attention to detail and classy flair coupled with (pun unintended) plenty of suspense and gossipy drama, season 2 of "Bridgerton" has what it takes to keep your eyes and ears glued to the screen.

Great work on direction by Tricia Brock, Alex Pillai, Tom Verica, and Cheryl Dunye. The writers deserve special praise for their exemplary and meticulous work on each episode's script. Kudos to Chris Van Dusen (also show creator), Daniel Robinson, Sarah L. Thompson, Jess Brownell, Abby McDonald, Lou-Lou Igbokwe, and Oliver Goldstick.

Kris Bowers's musical scoring was still at the top of its game. Jeffrey Jur and Philipp Blaubach's cinematography was vintage eye-candy everywhere you turned. Superb work on editing and production design. Set decoration and art direction also deserve appreciation. Sophie Canale's costume design was excellent. The hair-makeup teams certainly brought their A-game. All other crews did notable work on "Bridgerton" season 2 Netflix.

Viscount Anthony Bridgerton (played by Jonathan Bailey) was amazing - some nice character development for him this season. Lady Danbury (played by Adjoa Andoh) was noteworthy. Mrs. Varley (played by Lorraine Ashbourne) was memorable. Penelope Featherington (played by Nicola Coughlan) was great - she gave highlight performances this season.

Eloise Bridgerton (played by Claudia Jessie) was amazing. Queen Charlotte (played by Golda Rosheuvel) was splendid. Lady Portia Featherington (played by Polly Walker) was remarkable. Colin Bridgerton (played by Luke Newton) was interesting. Theo Sharpe (played by Calam Lynch) was noteworthy.

Daphne Basset (the darling of season 1, played by Phoebe Dynevor) was good - she held her own this season despite the coming of 'new blood', though the Duke's absence throughout was rather strange.

The real star this season was Kate Sharma (played by Simone Ashley) - she became a fast favourite of mine, compelling in every way, fiercely independent, and casually sensual. Lady Mary Sharma (played by Shelley Conn) was notable. Edwina Sharma (played by Charithra Chandran) was good.

Then there was that luxurious voiceover provided by Lady Whistledown - an alias symbolically portrayed by none other than Julie Andrews whose voice is an enchantment in its own right. All other cast members did great work on Netflix's "Bridgerton" season 2 - no loose ends or dull performances anywhere.

Viscount Anthony Bridgerton was ready to tie the knot, and of course all the eligible ladies were practically at each others' throats to claim his suit. All except the clever, witty, and independent Kate Sharma, who of course ended up catching Anthony's eye and later, against her own better judgment, falling for the man.

This created quite the furore, because Kate originally intended to help her little sister Edwina land the Viscount's hand. Duty sparred with desire in more than a few instances.

Penelope was supposedly the secret writer, namely Lady Whistledown. It was interesting to watch her step into that role, all the while trying to navigate a safe path through people's - especially the Queen's - growing curiosity as to her identity.

"Bridgerton" S02 on Netflix stayed true to its scandalous nature and lush romantic scripting. It was fun and memorable, even heartbreaking at times, but most of all it delivered in all the right ways and at all the right times. Simone Ashley genuinely made this season the talk of the town. I loved every scene in which she featured, and I'm certain you will as well.

The final three episodes were practically an aria concerto of sensational surprises, sudden shocks, dawning realizations, and delicious developments, and they all concluded in a curiosity-tickling cliffhanger, which is more than worth waiting for in "Bridgerton" season 3.

Usually not my cup of tea
bestford5 April 2022
So I watched season one as it was lockdown and my choices of TV shows were running thin. It was ok a steady 6. So season 2, as I like the brother (who doesn't!) Very hugh jackmaness. I really enjoyed it. Plenty of twists and turns and side stories. It was definitely an improvement. I can't take it too seriously though it's mostly a light hearted over the top period drama.

Season 2 review
Kingslaay1 May 2022
I really eased into Season 2 thanks to Season 1 setting the show up so well. I continue to be impressed and pleased by the diversity in this period drama. What impressed me the most about season 2 was the use of two Tamil Indian actresses as the leading females. This really meant something and it's so good to see this representation of all people on such a big show. So I applaud Netflix for taking this step.

Season 2 was quite good, I almost binged it due to the interesting storylines. We all knew Anthony and Kate Sharma were going to be the endgame but this typical love story was not bad viewing. The dialogue remained polished and easy on the years. Some people complained to me about the use of modern music (instrumental) in the show. I for one quite like it as the music was still transformed and nicely adjusted for the period drama and it worked. Overall a decent season.

Made for a certain demographic
klaueliz30 March 2022
While I do agree that this episode was a bit too much back and forth, I do think that tension made the ending all the sweeter. I am definitely in the perfect demographic for the themes, having grown up loving these kind of stories, so I think the mixed reviews do make sense. But personally I absolutely loved this season, and the ending did feel perfect, and set up the story nicely for the next season.

Half-hearted attempt
Kolopa27 March 2022
Don't get me wrong I liked it. But I wanted to see more of Penelope & Colin. But for heavens sake I hate how Penelope is too sweet to him. I get it that is how the book is but still it frustrated me. The music score wasn't BOMB as it was in the first season. It was so amazing & fit every scene. It was still good just not as good. There was something missing in Anthony & Kate's chemistry. I still liked it but it wasn't like fiery & eye catching like Simon & Daphne. Phoebe Dynevor's expressions without words & Rege Jean Page you can't teach what they invoked with their acting. Simone Ashley is breathtaking but the words that her & Jonathan Bailey's characters said were off sometimes & didn't fit the situation sometimes. Also both of their facials were weird at times. Definitely still a fan but the first season was the best. I wiah they replaced Simon's character even though no one could compare to Rege Jean Page.

Warning: Spoilers
I was looking forward to this season but after watching it I am furious. Edwina and Mary always showed love and respect to Kate and Penelope WOULD NEVER try and destroy her best friend.

I also didn't love season 1 but
Prad-Pitt7 June 2022
My interest in the whole show was fanning as the first season progressed.. about to give up all together and having lost all interest.. season 2 surprised by demonstrating the power of restraint, better pacing, improved direction.. and the chemistry between the two leads is undeniable. The ratings don't lie. It screams romance novel but the sheen and classy approach lift the bar to new heights.

The truth will out
Calicodreamin29 March 2022
I darn near got whiplash from the back and forth in this episode and keeping an eye on the scandalous accusations sent flying. However, a decent way to the end the season, with both wonderful moments and a few delicious tendrils left to keep you wondering.

Non-Stop Snoozefest Cabaret
calebcalebwhitney30 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Watched this in the Gen Pop tv room and it was a marginal hit with the fellas. I was nominated to write the review because I'm the only guy here with a IMDB account.

Simone Ashley is absolutely stunning and she's a capable, talented actress, but they didn't give her much to work with here. Her dialogue is flat and her acting in Bridgerton seems to mostly involve a lot of glaring, which is supposed to be sexy or "fiery," but it just comes across flat. People here are raving about the chemistry between the male and female lead but I felt it was contrived and boring. Let's just say when she fell off her horse I was hoping it was the end for her character. Check out Simone Ashley's work in Sex Education or The Sister to see her very good performances.

The Queen character is just silly, but at least her wigs are interesting.

Colin is pathetic, pining for his lost love and treating Penelope with disdain when talking to his friends. Penelope should have curb-stomped him.

The Eloise character is over-acted and so irritating in every scene, same for Lady Danbury.

Penelope gives in too easily when Eloise accuses her of being Lady Whistledown. Eloise showed her true character. She is disgusting.

Were we really supposed to take seriously the supposed match between the Viscount and Edwina? She is beautiful, but a complete ingenue and such a match was so awkward that I was unable to suspend disbelief.

Featheringtons are planning to marry in the family and Jack making out with his aunt? I Hope your children will have 13 fingers and have fish-heads.

The episode wraps up with the most cringey scenes of Miss Kate and the Viscount pretending to be attracted to one another.

This season was disaster. No main characters, no romance, no respect for love or relationship or friendship or family members. This was nothing but pretty dresses, liar woman's and weak mans.
