The bereaved Kathleen is destitute and skivvies for abusive pay, her other options being a wife or worse - a fabulous, emotional performance from Eileen O'Higgins, a veteran of period drama.

I love the production values, conveying stark realism in a volatile heap of humanity with high stakes in a rigged game.

Hollywood making another saint

This episode shows Billy's (now fatherless) family arriving in Santa Fe. Billy is given credit for saving his mom from predatory men, including eventually his step-father. He witnesses the unjust killing of a friend, all of which propels him toward the life of a gunslinger. He falls under the spell of a man posing as an investigator.

Too bad much of the case for making him sympathetic seems missing from the historical record.

Ep2 does great at following ep1 success!

Episode 2 of the show (Billy the Kid) we see Billy and his mom travelling to a new town, where the mother finds a crooked man that the falls in love with from not knowing better, but already from the introduction in between Billy and this man, Billy sees right through this crooked mans mask, where he knows that this man ain´t up to no good.

I really have to say that this show is god damn underrated cause oh my, how am i loving it, the story telling, pace and acting are all so great.
