I didn't think any other episode would be so beautiful and heartwarming to get to the point of making me actually hold my tears and touch my heart so much than this one. I just have no words... Just watch it.

Best Hilda episode so far.

This episode is by far the best of the season and probably of the whole series, it's beautifully animated, it's longer than the other episodes (excluding the season 2 finale) and explores an amazing backstory in the most beautiful way possible.
I usually don't cry with movies or tv shows, but it's impossible not to with this one, truly an amazing experience that hopefully continues with a third season.
This episode could not be more perfect

The best

This is now my favorite episode of Hilda so far. It is beautiful, visual, and emotional story telling, bittersweet, and perhaps the most "Hilda" episode yet, even though Twig is the central character. Just wonderful.
Devastatingly Beautiful

Literally perfect in execution, this episode will have you in tears on multiple occasions throughout. Family entertainment, wholesome, spiritually fulfilling; will help you question and redefine what the term "family" even means. This series finds itself in an elite tier of animation and story telling.

Hilda has good episodes like "The midnight giant", "The fifty years night" or "The house in the woods" but this episode is just perfect, I never cry with series or movies, but I was dying at the end. This episode is the reason why Hilda has converted in one of my favorite TV shows ever.
YOU WILL CRY (probably)

The animation in Hilda is always gorgeous, but especially in this episode. But I was just casually watching this on a regular Saturday morning,, I was not expecting these tears!! What. This is by far the most beautiful episode I've seen so far of Hilda. It's written by the creator of the comics and you can really see the love he put into it. Just... wow. So, so beautiful.
Greatest Episode in all of Animation

This episode is perfect in every way. Watching Twig's and Hilda's past play out was sight to behold and made the climax at the end all the more touching. Seriously, if you are gonna watch this episode, be prepared. You're gonna be crying for a good while once the episode is finished.
This was THE episode that made me realize that this show is a lot more special than it first seemed to be, and I already knew it was really special in the first place. This episode just made me it feel even more special.
The Deerfox deserves all the Emmys and rewards in the world, you can just tell the amount of effort that was put into each frame of animation.
I couldn't be more grateful for this show being a thing and this episode made appreciate it even more.

I'm going to have to say that I recently started Hilda around a week ago, and I kinda fell on love with this show pretty quickly. This episode takes the cake for being the best episode on the whole series. Left me feel an overwhelming amount of emotion during various points, and I was stunned at what I watched after the episode concluded. Literally can range from being funny, to being frightening, and to also being incredibly emotional. That really summarises a lot of the show itself, but this episode nails it perfectly. Who knew that I would have developed so much for the friendship between Hilda and Twig. Probably one of the best episodes I've watched of an animated TV Series. Watch it, please.
Bittersweet! :)

Warning: Spoilers
The past two episodes the characters have not been giving attention to Twig...
By that I mean literally...Hilda doesn't hang out with Twig, she leaves him behind, closes the door on him.
Twig ran away in this episode, left Trolberg to go to the woods...
Twig chose Hilda over his family. Tough choice.
This episode has cute memories.
I started this series last week.
Yeah, it's an epic series, not my favorite series' of all time though.
I enjoy other stuff like....well, anything that is in my ratings, really.
I almost, (possibly did) cry, or shed a tear.
Bittersweet episode, I recommend!

One of the greatest episodes I had the honor to watch

This episode is nothing less than perfection. The animation, the flashbacks, the contrast of the cuteness of small Hilda, the sadness of current Hilda and the looming danger around built the perfect structure for the episode.
And the ending? Man, what an ending. It is rare for a story to manage to feel really sweet or really bitter, and it is far more impressive when it manages to be both simultaneously. I didn't realize how deeply it touched me until I rewatched the last 10 minutes and just let the tears drop. This episode alone was enough to ensure I will definitely rewatch the show at some point, even though I haven't even finished it.
Overall, a perfect excustion for a beautiful and emotional story.
