Way better than I expected!

Warning: Spoilers
Me and a couple friends booted up a video call and went searching on Netflix for something to watch together as we can't see each other during lockdown; we stumbled across Alice in Borderland and figured "what the hell?" We're fans of Asian cinema and the deadly game niche sub genre that you find in films like Battle Royale and Saw so it looked like we'd enjoy it, but wow... we loved it! We found ourselves identifying with the characters and engaging in the games throughout. There's a palpable sense of tension and the production values are great! I will say though, if you can, watch the sub as the dub leaves a little to be desired. Otherwise, an awesome introduction to the show and one we will definitely continue as a collective.

Starts good but with a very long premise

Warning: Spoilers
The pilot is good and keeps you engaged but is very slow paced in the first part, but it has to be because the game is very fast paced. I liked the cinematography but some framing are either bad to watch(meaning they could've been better) or too short. Cfor example, when the protagonist is looking for everyone, there's an aerial view of him that should've lasted the whole rest of the scene to emphasize the fact that he is alone, but they cut it after 2 seconds. I recommend it because it's a good idea and seems to be a saw-like with different themes.

Episode 1.

So the setup and the foundation silly and non-existent. It's certainly interesting once the game began though, will watch on.

Great episode, if you are a Nerd and love Reasoning

The first episode starts with slow pace, but become interesting when the characters enter in Game Arena. Everything explained very well about the game, but it Is too fast to understand and solve simultaneously by your own. If you are a nerd the you will definitely gooing to love this episode. Looking forward to watch the next episode 😀.

Wonderful first episode

Warning: Spoilers
I've gone into ALICE IN BORDERLAND knowing very little about it, but I was absolutely blown away by this first episode. One of the greatest first episodes of any series I've ever seen. The direction of the first fifteen minutes is wonderful, the characters are likeable and funny, and then the main plot kicks in and you're on edge until the credits roll. Like a new BATTLE ROYALE, and every bit as good at this point.

Good start

Arisu and his friends Karube and Chota head out into central Tokyo for some fun. After causing an incident they hide in a public toilet to avoid the police. When they re-emerge into the street all the people have disappeared and their electronic devices don't work. It turns out that they're unwilling participants in a game, a game filled with deadly challenges where losing or simply making the wrong decision could cost them their lives.

A decent start to the series. The plot is intriguing, especially the bigger picture - what is going on and how do they get out of this predicament? - and solving the individual challenges.

However, characters are generally so-so and not overly engaging. Chota is incredibly irritating and a reason to not want to continue watching. I didn't mind Saori Shibuki though...

Overall, intriguing enough to keep me watching.

Caught
Littleman953 February 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Plot: the beginning is a little bit weird and slow, but after that everything starts to became interesting and intriguing. It's just a little bit slow, sometimes it takes some breaks. But it's not so bad.

Actors and Actress & Acting: in my entire life I've watched just few movies with Asian actors and actress (mainly Chinese stuff at school) and I never liked them so much, you can literally see that they are acting.

But here, in this show (after the slow and weird beginning, they catch you, really. Good job!

Soundtrack: maybe a little too much electronic, but I guess that it goes along this kind of show pretty well.

Conclusions: after a long throw during which the ball just fly, there is a good caught. Let's see if it will end in a touchdown or not. See you at the end of the season!

Unexpectedly good!

The plot of the show, was very interesting. So, I decided to watch the show, because I really like survival-thriller TV shows. The storyline seems very well written. The characters were very well-developed and very likeable. Episode 1, was a nice introduction of the show, it was very intense and so promising! Also, I really liked the filming location. It wasn't scary, but it was kinda bloody (I mean, there were some kills). I have to admit that this show reminds me of, "Squid Game". The first game was so intense and it kinda remind me, the movie "Escape Room". The duration of the show, was nice. Overall, it seems a really good show and I can't wait to watch the following episodes!

Great episode for a beginning!

I don't know if I can pound 600 characters to make the minimum amount to comment, but I think I can! Hey... the series is great and is not woke. It is kind of action you might find in Battle Royale (Japanese version). Since the series is filmed in Japan, they are not hung up on having 50% of the cast being black like they do in the states. It is filmed in Tokyo and has the feel of the Matrix. You are in a game world all to itself, and the games are for life and death. It is a science fiction/action/mystery series that is well written and filmed. They actors were great. You are going to love season 1 (yeah... I met the minimum.)
