Maeve Continues To Makes No Sense
ComradWinston27 April 2020
For once I'm on board with almost everything that's happening. Questions are given definitive answers and the plot moves along with minimal contrivance. My only problem is with Maeve being portrayed as some Terminator-like hero who is always the hero no matter how many people she chops-up or guns-down.

These pseudo-jedi battles between her and Dolores are purely shallow spectacles with a backdrop of grandiosity that starkly exposes how vapid their fights are. Other than that flashy nonsense, I couldn't have asked for much more from this episode. Although that shotgun thing at the end is about as silly as Ninja Maeve.

Warning: Spoilers
I'm getting a lot of meh but there were some good moments. Honestly, on its own the whole technology aspects with human intervention and alteration are very interesting, but the writers keep piling up these philosophical questions and Black Mirror-esque technodystopian future issues and possibilities and it's all just a bit of a mess. It doesn't help that Caleb as a character really isn't interesting. I mean even an actor as brilliant as Aaron Paul can't find a way to make me care about him in any way. The flashback stuff was soooooo tiring, we've seen the same several clips played all season with no context. There were also more action scenes although not as silly as previous ones. The Dolores and Maeve fight scene was just so meh, I was waiting for it to be over. I don't recall there being so many of them in the previous seasons, certainly not season 1? Not a fan. Anyway, William's story does have me intrigued and I'm also interested to find out what the new initiative means for the hosts and Caleb. This season started off well but it has become quite a mess in the second half

Thanks for making this show a lot more enjoyable by shining a light on details that take the experience to the next level! They nailed their predictions but no so much to ruin the surprises. Im still on team Dolores\Caleb, freedom over NWO control. Fantastic episode and even the fight scenes that i thought were lacking on previous episodes were straight fire on this one. The finale in gonna blow my device up.

Not WW anymore
kk102427 April 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I knew things wouldn't be the same when Nolan & Joy said there would be fewer puzzles than before, but I didn't expect it to be like this.

This is not WW anymore, but a mediocre and cheesy scifi show with plots that just don't make sense: like why would maeve have to fight dolores, just because it would be fun and cool? Does it mean anything other than fan service? Sure this worked on some people, but believe me, the crowd is hard to please, and some of them didn't get what they want at all.

Back in S2, maeve was actually my fav character: another solution to the problem, a digital paradise for the hosts. It's nice to see something different while Dolores was all about blood revenge. But now, my god, i don't even know why Maeve and Bernard exist, for they've literally done absolutely nothing this entire season. Maeve is still stuck in the past, thinking about the daughter. And bernard is like Dolores has a plan, while both he and the viewers have absolutely no effing clue.

I used to believe that only william's plot will save this season, but seeing his mental state right now, im not so sure anymore.

Caleb is too much main character
alexanderdgc27 April 2020
We all knew something was up with Caleb and personally I found his scenes in this episode quite intriguing.

But he has got way too much screen time and it feels like the writers only focused on his character and my favorites like Bernard, Maeve and Stubbs etc are just side characters that randomly appear. If this season contained 10 episodes maybe I would be fine with it, but with only 8 episodes many interesting characters are set aside to give Caleb the main story.

SPECTACULAR!

Warning: Spoilers
I have no recollection of me holding me holding my breath that long while watching TV in a long time.

This episode had it all: action, plot twists, explanations (many, many explanations), on point dialogue, character developments and returns... wow. I was afraid of Westworld going out of the park and losing essence after the perfect S1, but 'au contraire'! So many pieces of the puzzle that is S3 have sense now, I feel like a rewatch is even more worth it this season as it was in the previous ones. Insane, great TV.

This show is a cup of good wine in a table full of fast food. Fast food, everyone can eat and leaves you no positive afterthought. Westworld wants you to come back and take another sip, you surely must have missed something the first time. Brilliant.

2nd best episode in Season 3.
bishsmurfaceit27 April 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This episode was actually giving explanations, improved action scenes(compared to maeve and charlotte's horrible actions scenes in the last episodes), and finally something is happening. Some scenes were exciting and makes you feel like "Wow" such as Caleb's backstory. We was definitely need to know more about Caleb and this episode satisfied me enough.

Stop rating low without watching the episode.

I miss Dr.Ford (containing low-level spoilers)
harveythemaster27 April 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Looks like we are not going to see master Hopkins in season 3 now. However, I would positively recognize episode 7 as one of the best in season 3, maybe the third best because episode 4 and 6 were just relatively better.

Dolores proves that she did achive a black-belt in Taekwondo if you watch the appendix part of this episode, but the fighting part of our two destined goddesses is just not that "fighting". To be fair, I was definitely not thrilled by the part.

Caleb, man, I love his performance in the Breaking Bad, but in this show, all I ever saw about him was just a painful, doubtful, twisting face. Maybe the role was set to be like this I don't know, but what a hard labor for Paul, good job.

Maeve was awesome, dressed like a extremely-disciplined stalking ninja, and she did perform very well. However this episode was not made for her, it was made for both Maeve and Dolores, as I could see in the episode 8 trailor, that fight going on again is ultimate.

Bernard and Stabbs played as the "Answer Machine", putting closure on a lot of whirling questions. Other than that, they still did nothing. (Oh no, not nothing, William is doing something about them)

Overall, I think the biggest use of this episode is to pave way for the seaon finale. We get hung high for the coming of the next week, jumping in our houses up and down thinking about the end of it all. I don't know if Serac will continue his storyline in the next season? But after a season of observing him, I see somehow shadows of Ford in him. Or maybe it's just that I miss Ford so much.

Goddamn it, will I ever hear "Hello, old friend." ever again?

TheFirst0127 April 2020
Best episode yet, but... the next episode is gonna be the best one. I'm Team Maeve all the way, sorry Dolores. Dolores finally shows a sign of imperfection after her battle with Maeve, and she was growing too overconfident. This episode acts as a setup with some exciting scenes that even finally answers questions about this season. Next sunday tune in to Westworld, cause you won't want to miss it.

Delicious cat fight of the highest order.
robfollower27 April 2020
I liked the episode tonight, the hand to hand combat seems to be taking a step up and seeing the "making of" gives some new respect to the actors for doing a lot of the work in them. The "twist" was something I didn't see coming and thought they did a good job with the reveal.

Military grade EMP or not, Dolores hasn't finished playing her role in these violent delights quite yet. Looking forward to see the finale next week.

disappointing season stylish but unfulfilling

S1 was so much better and this uneventful revolution plot for S3 is covered up by set designs but there is no meat to this show.

A plane crash in slow motion
pato-ezequiel28 April 2020
I used to love this show, and I still consider the first season to be one of the best pieces of TV history.

In the past, characters served their own purposes, had believable motivations, were self-consistent and their actions were logically tied to that. The results of those actions had consequences, characters lost what they loved, they died after unwise decisions.

This season, despite a good start, quickly became a mess with characters getting personality transplants, inexplicably switching their goals, contradicting themselves, becoming exposition bots or comic relief, or simply coming back to life to please the fanbase. The characters now act to fulfill their roles in the overarching plot, instead of the other way around. The decisions feel forced. Key plot points are happening off-screen.

In short, this has become the mirror of Game of Thrones season 7. A rushed attempt to tell a story with great potential, impressive cast and production crew, but terrible writing and pacing issues.

The 4 picture long daily cartoon in the newspaper has more coherent story
sumtim3s00n29 April 2020
And people are actually payed for writing and creating this utter dreck. Somebody has some strong connections to keep their jobs while putting out scripts that 9 random baboons would surpass by just tapping on the keyboards with their as5es randomly. The show started very promisingly but after first season it was done. Now its just random sequences and actions linked barely all of it going willy nilly into all directions at once with planet sized plot holes and ridiculous stories.

Wow. One of the best episodes in the season
cruise0127 April 2020
5 out of 5 stars.

I was blown away by this episode. A lot is going on. The plot reveals a little more about Delores and Calebs plan. The episode focused more on Caleb and his backstory. Not giving away spoilers cause there are a few twists and turns. There is an awesome climax showdown with Delores and Maeve. Which had a cool fight scene. The script, direction, and acting is all great. I can't wait to see where the season finale will go next.

Caleb meets Rehoboam's dad.
XweAponX27 April 2020
Finally Caleb is revealed as the non-random element Delores knew about.

And his entire backstory is just so much BS. In fact it is quite surprising who he actually is and why Delores targeted him immediately.

There is a whole class of unwanted people, not living, not dead. Hidden in a digital version of King Solomon's Mines. And Delores just blew the shaft open.

Meanwhile some of Maeve's allies are headhunting, and they take away quite a prize.

And the BernArnold/Stubbs show is now joined by William, who has gotten even more crazier after subjected to "AR Treatment" and then forgotten about. His current state Is yet another variation of his is anti-Ford paranoia, causing him to focus on the wrong target- again.

These disparate elements are finally combining to create their own dissonance.

This is a world that has been shattered, bringing it closer to the final confrontation.

Delores and Maeve are not enemies, but Maeve wants revenge for Hector. But Delores has thought about that as well.

I just want to see Solomon and Rehoboam blown into tiny chunks, will we get to see that happen?

raushanku-6763427 April 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Caleb met his 2nd life creator that is non other than Rhaebom's dad created by Searc's elder brother.

& This old dad explains how Serac is maintaining humanity quite similar to the Delo's Westworld.

Will beef you up for the seasons finale.

I had to put up this "review" just to say it is incredible how some of the people here are clearly not paying any attention to this show, this episode in particular. Wish you could reply to these reviews too to discuss to tell them why certain things are happening.

Tell me how you got here
MegaMaexn28 April 2020
On it's own it would be a decent sci-fi programme, but as part of the wider Westworld storyline (i.e. as S3) it just doesn't gel for me. The connections or dissonances between the hosts become even more far fetched since they all seem to be fighting for the same cause (free will and independence), although it's great to see Dolores and Maeve finally face off! But at the same time the human storylines get more and more blurred (Caleb's revelation... ridiculous at best!) not making much sense in a world that seems to be driven by data and tech manipulation. I hope they get it back on track for season 4 (and the final 5th?).

What was the point?
sadako1128 April 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Why Serac and co. spend so much time training and brainwashing Caleb, Francis and apparently other people to create this anti-outliers squad?

Serac is a trillionare! He could just have hired common mercenaries to capture or kill these outliers. I don't get it. Even the moronic security forces he has for sure are capable of finding and kidnapping these outliers. I don't see the need to create brainwashed anti-outliers soldiers.

These outliars are just humans that Serac AI computer deems as threat to society. The computer knows who they are and where they are. They are not hiding. You can send anybody to capture or kidnap them.

I still don't know what is so especial about Caleb. When Serac got a hold on him he was just a soldier. He even doesn't have experience commanding or leading people. Caleb is a boring character.

A mistake of the show is that we never really met Francis. Caleb kept talking and talking about him but we never met him and we never got a good grasp of their supposedly strong friendship. The Francis we get to meet is the one that betrayed Caleb. I think Francis had about 10 line of script total.

The fight between Doloresnator and Samuraybot was as dull as I was expecting. The dialog they had between them... bleh! Why Serac did not send soldiers with Maeve? At least the fight was short.

So apparently Maeve is dead... I just realized how pointless her character was this season. She spent most of her time fighting Nazis, sucking at swordplay and at the end failing stopping Dolores.

Warning: Spoilers
Story is getting worse by the minute. Dolores said someone will have to lead this resistance against humans hinting it's going to have to be Caleb, why him? He's human as well, isn't he?

Then we get a snippet of Caleb's past as a soldier, he was in Crimean Civil War. Knowing that the show is set in 2052 and Crimean Civil War happened in 2014 how does Caleb still look the same? He should be an old man by then. Whole bit made for poor writting, they wasted two rockets on two insurgents in a crowded street, why not just shoot them? Also a note, technologies don't make sense in that period those glasses and that space station did not exist back then.

Culmination of this episode is Maeve versus Dolores. Maeve still can't get over the fact that "her daughter" is just an artificial memory engrained in her head and is helping Serac. And the fight begins, Maeve brings a katana to a gunfight. If Serac really wanted Dolores and Caleb dead could he not say send a missile to level the whole facily to the ground or maybe an army to root out those two?

Sad part is show has been renewed by HBO to run for a 4th season and they're planning to run it for whole 6 seasons, if renewed again. It had no coherent story past season one, this show is on it's way to become the new walking dead.
