It’s always cool when we have the chance to watch action heroes venture into horror territory. We’ve seen Arnold Schwarzenegger take on the Predator, battle Satan (in End of Days), and raise a zombie daughter (in Maggie). Sylvester Stallone has taken on psycho killers in Cobra and Eye See You. Charles Bronson tracked a serial killer in 10 to Midnight. Dolph Lundgren faced off with an alien drug dealer in I Come in Peace. Jean-Claude Van Damme played both a serial killer and the killer’s heroic clone in Replicant. Steven Seagal killed vampires in Against the Dark. The list goes on… but two separate action horror projects we tragically missed out on would have given us the sight of both Van Damme and Seagal fighting Yetis, a.k.a. Abominable Snowmen!

"30,000 Pop Star Fans. 300 Cops. 1 Serial Killer. No Escape." Hell yes this is going to be awesome!! WB has debuted the second official trailer for the next M. Night Shyamalan movie titled Trap, arriving in theaters in August in just another month. The first trailer dropped back in April, but this looks even better now. He's going to mess with the whole concert! Ha. Josh Hartnett stars as a father who takes his daughter to a pop star concert (inspired by Taylor Swift or Lady Gaga). However, while there they discover that the concert is all a setup to catch a serial killer. But who is the killer? He is. Yep... But that can't be the only big spoiler?! I also have a feeling Shyamalan has worked in a few other big twists that we don't know about yet... The cast includes Ariel Donoghue, Saleka Shyamalan performing as Lady Raven, Hayley Mills,...

Many action stars tried their hand at a Die Hard copycat. Sylvester Stallone had Die Hard-on-a-mountain with his action movie Cliffhanger. Wesley Snipes had Die Hard-on-a-plane with the movie Passenger 57. Steven Seagal had both Die Hard-on-a-boat with Under Siege and Die Hard-on-a-train with Under Siege 2: Dark Territory. Martial arts star Jean-Claude Van Damme would get his own copycat film in the form of Die Hard-at-a-hockey-game with the 1995 film Sudden Death. You can now take the violent hockey action home with an all-new 4K transfer with the ultra HD Blu-ray from Kino, according to the announcement on Blu-ray.com.
Van Damme’s fare with this sports-themed film has its share of fans but is more notoriously known for the amusingly wild sequences that utilize its hockey setting, which include Van Damme fighting a terrorist who is disguised as a mascot for the Pittsburgh Penguins, as well as...

Watch Family Feud contestant’s ‘most confident’ podium answer ever: ‘I already knew I had it, Steve’
Family Feud contestants are under a lot of pressure when they face off at the podium, but Kendall McCoy’s self-assurance was unmatched.
Kendall faced off against his competitor, Jacob Griffin, as host Steve Harvey read them their survey question.
Steve was looking for the top four answers on the board and asked Kendall and Jacob to name “an occupation that a boy wouldn’t want his girlfriend’s father to have.”
Jacob was the first to hit his buzzer, and when Steve called on him for his answer, he responded, “Lawyer.”
Unfortunately for Jacob, his answer didn’t make it to the top four, so Kendall was given a chance to steal the board with a correct answer.
Kendall leaned over the podium and calmly spoke into his mic: “Police officer.”

The end of the 1990s was an odd time for cinema and in general. We were in the midst of Y2K, a panic over clocks and computers needing to roll over from 99 to 00, something people feared more than monsters and cults, something people really feared and fearmongered about. It was expected to be something of an apocalypse by some. So of course, Hollywood ran with it. Technology gone wrong, end of days, Satan coming to Earth, etc. We got films like Strange Days, Stigmata, eXistenZ, Virus, The Matrix, and End of Days (watch it Here), our movie today.
Following a dry patch of work for Arnold Schwarzenegger following Batman & Robin and heart surgery, he didn’t get all that many offers and eventually, it seemed like he would not be coming back. Then, End of Days came his way, and it seemed like a good, if darker than his then-recent work,...

A surprise Fantômas reunion took place Wednesday night (May 24th) in Oakland, California, during the final show of Mr. Bungle’s “Geek Show” tour with Melvins.
The reunion wasn’t too far out of the realm of possibility considering three of the band’s four members — Mike Patton, Trevor Dunn, and Dave Lombardo — are currently in Mr. Bungle. Once Buzz Osborne of Melvins took the stage, the supergroup’s lineup was complete, along with the bonus additions of Bungle guitarists Trey Spruance and Scott Ian.
Osborne sat in with Mr. Bungle for a rendition of The Raging Wrath of the Easter Bunny Demo track “Sudden Death” before the group launched into Fantômas’ cover of Henri Mancini‘s “Experiment in Terror” (featured on the band’s 2001 album The Director’s Cut). Fan footage captured the performance, which went off without a hitch as the band nailed the intricate loud-soft dynamics.

This episode of The Black Sheep was Written, Narrated, and Edited by Lance Vlcek, Produced by Lance Vlcek and John Fallon, and Executive Produced by Berge Garabedian.
I’ll always have a soft spot for the horror of the late ’90s. It wasn’t the best of the decade, but it does contain that silly and ambitious mix of dark edginess and psychological tension. Coming somewhat from the boom of the ’90s type of thriller, the religious horror resurgence came out of changing tastes. And though it didn’t all work out, there was a style and tone that I’ll always love. So what happens when an action superstar tries to grow while the genre around him changes into a different beast? You get the ridiculous but damn fun End of Days (watch it Here) on this episode of The Black Sheep.

A wonderful excuse not to stop the party from ending.

Die Hard isn’t just lauded as perhaps the single greatest action movie ever made, as John McTiernan’s classic is also one of the most influential. John McClane’s misadventures in the Nakatomi Plaza have served as the inspiration for countless similar titles over the last 30 years, many of which are terrible, but others rank as some of the finest actioners of the modern era in their own right.
Under Siege, Passenger 57, Executive Decision, Air Force One, Con Air, Cliffhanger, Speed, Sudden Death, White House Down and Olympus Has Fallen have all taken the basic high concept formula established in Die Hard and transplanted it to battleships, planes, mountains, buses, stadiums and the White House respectively to wildly mixed results. Homaging the Bruce Willis classic is never going to go out of fashion, though, which is why Rawson Marshall Thurber’s Skyscraper looked like such a slam dunk on paper.

A homicidal hockey mascot. A firefighter-turned-fire marshal-turned-Stanley Cup Finals goalie. Lethal gym equipment. A magnificent helicopter escape plan. Lots and lots of roundhouse kicks. All of these elements and more make Sudden Death, released on this date in 1995, the most glorious action extravaganza of superstar Jean-Claude Van Damme’s career.
Essentially Die Hard At A Hockey Game, Sudden Death tells the tale of divorced former firefighter Darren McCord (Jcvd), who, after a workplace tragedy, has become a fire marshal at Pittsburgh Civic Arena. For his young son Tyler (Ross Malinger)’s birthday, Darren is bringing Tyler and daughter Emily (Whittni Wright) to the office. The occasion? Game 7 of the 1995 Stanley Cup Finals, an imagined rematch of the 1992 Stanley Cup Finals bout between the Chicago Blackhawks and the Pittsburgh Penguins. Vice President Daniel Binder (Raymond J. With “Mulan” arriving on more platforms October 6 and non-premium VOD titles like “The Witches” and Amazon’s “Borat Subsequent Moviefilm” later this month, the home-viewing market was on pause with no new premium titles this weekend. That didn’t stop Jessica Chastain’s “Ava,” however: It had the best showing for a non-premium title in the six months we’ve covered weekly VOD performance.
The $6.99 female-assassin action film, which debuted September 25, placed #1 at the three transactional sites and second at FandangoNow, which lists by revenue. Other recent titles like “The Outpost,” “The Tax Collector,” and “The Silencing” have thrived for multiple weeks, but none topped the charts for two weeks.
Beating out “Ava” at FandangoNow, thanks to its $19.99 price point, is “Antebellum.” In its third week, it’s also #2 at Spectrum. It fell off Apple TV and Google Play, even with less competition among premium titles.

The streaming war is an epic battle that will rage on for years to come, funded by some of the richest corporations on the planet and being fought solely from the comfort of couches around the world. With the competition only continuing to heat up and new platforms either debuting or being announced on an increasingly regular basis, eventually only those with enough disposable income will be able to experience the full range of over-the-top content on offer.
Having led the charge since the very beginning, it seems unlikely that anyone will be able to dislodge Netflix as the market leaders seeing as they currently have over 100 million more subscribers than their closest competitors at Amazon Prime. Netflix are currently in the middle of one of their best years ever when it comes to original movies, and we’ve not even reached the end of July yet. Such is the company’s dominance in the streaming wars that even the critically-panned likes of The Last Days of American Crime, 365 Dni and Fatal Affair have still racked up tens of millions of viewers.
Despite all of them being released in the last four months, Spenser Confidential, Extraction and The Old Guard have already raced their way onto the list of Netflix’s ten most-watched original movies ever, while Spike Lee’s acclaimed Da 5 Bloods positioned itself as an early awards season contender. However, that’s barely the tip of the iceberg, and there are still plenty more high-profile originals set to arrive before 2020 is over, with some of them hailing from the biggest names in the business.

The other run of new episodes arriving that month is also a second season, this one for French comedy Family Business, in which a family take advantage of the news that France is legalizing marijuana by opening up a marijuana café. I’m sensing a pattern here. Catch the new season from September 11th.

When the Soviet Union collapsed in 1991 on the day after Christmas, American speculators were presented with the ultimate gift: An opportunity to sell capitalism to one of the largest untapped markets in the history of time. For Russians, however, the shift away from communism was hesitant and fraught with uncertainty, and some of the country’s proudest institutions began to languish without the state-funded support that had allowed them to thrive behind the Iron Curtain. Business relations between the two superpowers were tantalizing in theory, but difficult to make real, and the ice was slower to thaw than many people on either side might have hoped. Of course, that wasn’t a problem for anyone who knew how to skate.

Michael Jai White (Black Dynamite, Tyson) and comedian Gary Owen (Daddy Day Care, Get Hard) are set to star in the film and it’s obviously taking a new spin on the subject matter.
There’s no word on what the story will entail, but the original film featured Van Damme as a fireman “who interceded when terrorists snatch the U.S. Vice President during the seventh game of the NHL Stanley Cup.” I assume the new film will tell the same story, but in a more comedic way.
Netflix has scheduled the film for June 2020 release. What do you think about Sudden Death getting a comedic remake?...

Writer/director Jesse V. Johnson and actor Scott Adkins have developed a very interesting creative relationship over the past two years. If their films like Savage Dog, Accident Man, and The Debt Collector had been released in the 1990s it would have not seemed out of place to see them on a marquee beside films like Under Seige or Sudden Death and they likely would have been financially successful crowd pleasures as well. The films made by the duo are a throwback to a simpler style...
