The Invitation (II) (2022)
7/10
It's okay

Not sure why the ratings are this low, I didn't really like this movie but it's not that bad to the point that it makes someone cringe to death. The beginning was bad it was straight up really cliche, really forced, boring, and not enough build up or action. The second half was not so bad kind of redeeming itself, except for the ending. The ending was horrible, rushed, and genuinely pathetic that anyone with half a brain cell can agree on how stupid the ending was. Most of this movie was eye candy, we have beautiful landscape, beautiful mansion, the costumes, people, all beautiful. The story is actually not that bad if anything this movie taught me never to take a DNA test. However, if the writers had spent more time cutting out the unnecessary bits at the start, then the ending would not have been so rushed. I'd give it a higher score had it had that. Despite the storyline being okay, the writers messed up big time. Sometimes I wonder how Hollywood writers just don't see the missing dots or plot holes that are incredibly blatant to the eye. It's like they're all smoking something when writing these scripts. I just feel bad for all the people that gave great effort to make this movie, however despite all the bad it is entertaining. That's why I gave it a 7, you just have to turn off your thinking noggin and complain about how bad the movie was at the end of it. If one does not think this movie is pretty interesting. It's not scary at all, but it's got some intrigue. Sure it's predictable as hell, but not so bad overall. I'd only recommended watching this movie when you're doing laundry or something it's more entertaining that way.
