Super fun spoof of the horror genre!
Optimus-Prime8 October 2020
I'm the programmer of the Killer Valley Horror Film Festival, so I watch a ton, (A TON!), of horror short films every year. This one immediately jumped out to me as something different, and we accepted it to our 2020 festival.

It starts off with a writer working on the script for his new horror film, and we hear his inner monologue as he writes. It's a fun technique that I haven't seen used in quite this way before. We see the film he's narrating getting made, and it changes course every time he changes his mind on how the film should work. He goes over all the typical tropes of the genre, either trying to avoid them or just fully embracing them. His narration is the highlight of the film.

I won't give it a 10/10, because some of the filmmaking could have been improved. The sound is spotty in places, the film could have been more interestingly shot, and I thought the main killer could have been better realized, but beyond that it's a really fun 10 minute ride for any fan of the horror genre.

Excellent Approach to Subverting the Horror Genre

As a programmer at a Festival that has run for 20 years, I have to say this film is smart and FUNNY. Jordan does an excellent job of his Meta satirical approach to writing a horror film. This film is fun, clever and incredibly unique.

Official Selection at Sin City Horror Fest part 5!

The Greatest Horror Movie Ever Made, directed by Brandon Jordan, serves up something for everyone, from the casual fan to the die hard horror film connoisseur. The film pokes fun at the modern teenager cabin horror film but at the same time isn't afraid to shy away at embracing the tropes of the typical scenes and scenarios of what makes a horror film fun. Even though its self awareness of its plot shines in the forefront, the execution of this film comes off perfectly in it's acting, pacing, and technical feats. It is a solid written and filmed story by Brandon and co-writer, Jess Black, that worked amazing on screen. A short film that runs just around 12 minutes, it feels like it knew it's sweet spot that didn't make it seem too long but stopped short enough of you wanting some more. It's films like this that play at Sin City Horror Fest that gives us the motivation and drive to keep this festival going! Definitely check out the Greatest Horror Movie Ever Made!

Really loved this! It's so funny and doesn't take itself seriously at all. Very inventive unique kills and some nice nudity too! Fantastic writing! Can't wait to see what this filmmaker does next!

Best Horror Comedy at the 2020 6ix Screams International Horror Film Festival

We have seen the typical horror movie tropes a number of times. The Greatest Horror Film Ever Made uses those same tropes to invent a brand new take at the horror comedy genre! The script is well thought of and we give top marks for audio quality and cinematography. The actors played their stereotypical roles well and we are looking forward to more work from director Brandon Jordan.
