Happily ever after is great , and as far as ANYONE feeling it was unnecessary to have pigmented /melinated people as the forefront they can kick rocks. It's crucial to children to see people that look like them on TV , and in books whether they know it or not. Because eventually that child will think either we are not pretty enough or maybe we don't belong or deserve to be there. So I recommend this to anyone I watched this growing up and literally saved all episodes from hbo on my direct TV box so my son can watch.

Wonderful, inclusive

I love this show. I grew up watching it and the inclusivity is wonderful. The twist on the fairytales makes it so relatable to many and I believe that to be very important. I currently watch this show with my son and he loves all of the songs in it
Good intentions badly planned results in poor quality production

The need for this type of rehashing of classic fairly tales probably comes from well-intending adults who, for sure, are the only ones who think this is needed. Most fairy tales, including those in this series, features creatures and humans from Europe. They've revised them to be from around the world: Africa, South America, Mexico, Asia, etc: places the producer feel are not sufficiently represented by typical fairy tales that we tell our children, and Disney.
I think it would have been better to focus on the fairy tales those cultures already have as opposed to reworking good stories and essentially ruining them with badly written music and sloppy directing/voice work.
