The reincarnation episode alone makes going through the painful 2-part mediums episode worth the wait
27 April 2022
Every episode is good except the 2 medium ones. The Dutch lady felt so disingenuine and scammy, doing bad voice impressions and slightly adjusting the words she used, telling people 2 basic details extracted from a Wikipedia page and then basically saying 'if you don't believe me you're a hater'. The reincarnation episode was brilliant, so interesting to see stories of uninformed children talking about past lives.

I would recommend you give this series a shot, form your own opinions but skip the mediums episode if you feel it's hard to watch.

People must be joking with these 1 star reviews...
15 July 2021
I get the point that some of these reviewers are trying to make, but 1 star? Seriously? You're telling me that this beautiful film is worse than most other movies? Seriously, it's like some people just see others give it a 1 star and then decide to jump on the bandwagon of hating it because that's the 'in' thing. This movie to me, is better in almost every aspect compared to a lot of today's garbage mainstream mediocre high budget films. Movies like these are what gives me hope for future films, and allow me to not have to lower the bar of expectations for upcoming films. I LOVE the cinematography in this, it kind of gives me Last of Us vibes, or just game vibes in general since the camera placement is somewhat reminiscent of an over-the-shoulder camera style video game. I'd recommend this film to lovers of the first one, horror enthusiasts, disaster/post-apocalyptic film lovers and people who aren't a cynical critic about every semi-mainstream thing out there.

Underrated and undervalued gem of a film
29 June 2021
This film has most of what I love in a movie, a well showcased world, adventure, great art and animation and a perfect atmosphere with a just-as perfect soundtrack alongside it. Many characters in this film are very likeable, especially the Protagonist, some people might say 'of course the protagonist is likeable, it's the protagonist', but these days you can't say that for films half the time. The plot is fairly simple but that's part of what makes this so relaxing and fun to watch. The added romance was also a very welcome touch and it was adorable. Overall a great film and a must see for Art-, Animation- , Foreign-, and good movie-lovers. 8.5/10 for me but 9 rounded out.

I disagree with all the people giving it a 1 star
27 June 2021
Sure the child actress isn't good and sure there are some scenes that feel like they only did 1 take and went on lunch afterwards and completely forgot to do another one, especially the ending jeez, but this movie is really fun and enjoyable if you like disaster films. If you liked underrated fun flicks such as Lake Placid, Tremors, The Day After Tomorrow etc. I think you'll find yourself liking this one (maybe not as much as the previously mentioned films though). I'd watch a film like this any day over a dull and annoyingly bad extremely high budget mainstream movie like Godzilla Vs. Kong. Anyways I give this a good old 7/10, put your feet up and relax and have a good time with this one.

Gravity Falls (2012–2016)

Definitely going down as one of the best cartoon series ever objectively
26 June 2021
I've watched the first season's episodes over and over again when I still watched cartoons on TV, or watched TV in general. The only reason I didn't watch the second season's episodes is because at the time it didn't air yet. I finished the show today, watched both seasons and I must say I'm quite impressed with the quality. Every frame feels like someone put their heart and soul into it, and where other cartoons have many episodes in their wonderfully crafted worlds, Gravity Falls has less episodes but makes up for the lack of more episodes with the animation-, sound, world- and character designs. I put this show up there with the likes of Avatar The Last Airbender, which I feel to be one of the best in animation, or at least Western animation.

Regular Show (2010–2017)
7/10
Finally watched this from beginning to end
24 June 2021
When I was younger I'd watch this on TV a lot, then again, there were dozens of other shows I watched a lot, I just watched a lot of TV is my point. I watched a lot of TV and this show yet I never watched all of the episodes, this is due to the fact that at the time the series hadn't finished. Now that it has been finished for quite a while, I did watch every episode, and I come out of it feeling the same attachment to the characters as when I was younger. There are a few episodes, especially in the later seasons where it felt like they had lost the essence of the show, but then quickly made up for it and gave us a fairly satisfying ending which makes you feel all kinds of things (intentionally vague so as to not spoil). The point is that this show is pretty good for a regular one ;-)

Great Refresher Of A Movie But Badly Marketed
5 May 2021
I am excited to have found a little unknown gem like this one, but am extremely bummed out by the fact that nearly no one has experienced this. This, in my opinion is how more films should be, great plot with interwoven stories, great and likeable cast, and just an overall well written and fun film. After seeing this film I remember why I watch all of the mediocre and bad ones, it's to experience something like this. I'm overall just really satisfied with all aspects of this movie. 8/10, if we could go into decimals I might even go so far as to give it an 8.5/10, but I think 8 is a pretty fair score nonetheless. I'd recommend you watch this film if you like stress-free movies, the Mystery genre, or Romcoms.

Community (2009–2015)

I now have an attachment towards the characters of this show
24 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I started watching Community on a whim, and let me tell you, Season 1 and 2 blew me away, I was slightly disappointed with Season 3 though it still held its ground in terms of silliness and originality. Season 4 was, like Season 3, worse than its previous Season, but still pretty decent. Then came Season 5, probably my least favourite of the Seasons, In my honest opinion I think this show would've benefitted more by only having 4 Seasons, but I'm not complaing with the 2 Seasons we got, just that it's worse than the first 4 Seasons, but that doesn't make it bad. Season 5 was my least favourite since 3 main characters disappeared with it, well, Shirley didn't disappear as she made a couple of cameos in Season 6, but the point is 3 pivotal characters were off the show, always leaving me with a slight feeling that something is missing since then. They tried multiple times to replace the original characters, and made one valiant attempt since they are all good additions, but none of them truly feels like the original group: Jeff, Annie, Troy, Pierce, Abed, Britta, Shirley and even Chang. I love them all, The old white guy in Season 5 (forgot his name sorry) was only there for 1 season then also strangely disappeared, then came an old black dude to repplace him in Season 6 (also forgot his name sorry) and also left us near the end of the season, luckily Frankie (character introduced into the group at the beginning of the Season) remained for the entire Season. This show made me feel many emotions, mostly by the cast leaving one by one, but also due to the onscreen drama and chemistry. I wish that Jeff and Annie ended up together but I read somewhere that the writers didn't want them to be together because of their age, so they basically gave us false hope then squandered it by making Jeff older all of a sudden, and acting like it's disgusting to have someone in his mid 30s (then 40 after the change), date someone in their early 20s. This wouldn't bother me as much if they didn't also write an episode where Garett literally marries his first cousin, which I wouldn't have minded if this wasn't ironic, they didn't want to create a couple where the age gap is big but went for an incestuous relationship...okay. Besides this small thing I really like the show. Annie is probably my favourite, then Abed, then Jeff etc. But I love them all alot. Final verdict 7.5/10. Season 1=9/10 Season 2=9/10 Season 3=7.5/10 Season 4=7/10 Season 5=6/10 Season 6=6.5/10.

Who Am I? (1998)

I wanted to give this 1 star...
5 February 2021
This movie has some horrendous dialogue, as well as overall bad acting and some choppiness in the overall production.

The first 10 to 20 minustes I wanted to click off the movie so fast I'd be considered a worthy rival to the blue devil himself-Sonic The Hedgehog, but as time went on and I grew more used to the bad acting, I saw the great things this film has to offer, including; The entire Jackie Chan package, meaning, GREAT action scenes with humour sprinkled inbetween. Fun and diverse songs compliment the happenings on the screen beautifully, and the diverse cast and filming locations is highly appreciated. I particularly enjoyed the second half of this film although the South Africa section was also pretty good and had its moments, this might be biased because I live in South Africa and although I'm glad Jackie Chan made a movie here, I always feel a cringe-like feeling when watching something in my country, I don't know if others feel the same, but anyway, sorry about the ramblings.

GO SEE THIS FILM IF YOU LIKE JACKIE CHAN, GREAT ACTION MOVIES OR ANYTHING FUNNY.

It left me disappointed and bored by the end
25 October 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I am writing this review three weeks after watching this movie, because after watching this I got burnt out from watching movies since I didn't find myself enjoying this film at all. I'll give credit where credit is due, the team behind this managed to make an original and somewhat refreshing take on the zombie apocalypse, where the main focus isn't really the zombies but the characters and how they change for the worse after the dead rises and starts eating people for sustenance. Certain elements of this film was great, but overall the movie didn't really evoke any felling out of me except boredom and I found myself checking the amount of time until the movie is over. The chemistry between the two main characters was basically nonexistent and felt extremely forced. Regarding the latter half of this film, I don't know how the army guys wouldn't be one of the first to be informed that the zombie virus is only contained within England and I find it hard to believe that they would reduce themselves to being rapists to fulfill their carnal desires merely a month after the outbreak happened, you're telling me they don't have any porno mags in any of those fully stocked convenience stores? Just rub one out mate and calm down. Overall 4/10

WAY underrated
23 September 2020
I really liked the first film and was scared I wouldn't like this one as much since sequels tend to be worse than the original, but I'm glad to announce that I liked this as much as the first one, both for their own reasons. I get that people don't like all the pop culture sprinkled in, but I'd say that you should enjoy it for what it is, in 20 years or so younger people might not get the pop culture references but YOU still will, so just enjoy it and go with the flow. This movie made me smile from ear to ear with all of the silly and self-aware satire. I would highly recommend this to anyone who enjoyed the first film and who wants a movie that they can sit back to and enjoy.

Joker (I) (2019)

A Must Watch
8 September 2020
I find everything about this movie perfect, I honestly went in expecting it to be a 7 or 8 out of ten movie at best, because sometimes movies that get this much hype don't actually live up to it, but I can assure you that this one certainly does.I always had a huge love for Heath Ledger's portrayal of the Joker (May he rest in peace) but honestly, for me, this one certainly takes the cake. Joaquin Phoenix embodies The Joker to a T in this film, I can't help but absolutely root for The Joker even though he might actually be mentally insane (although I've always had a love for good villains so that explains why, but I mean who doesn't). Anyway I thoroughly enjoyed it and will definitely be rewatching it lots throughout the years (hopefully). 10/10-IGN

Really good

Ngl this do be kinda lit. I really like the dynamic the family has with each other, and I love the contrast between the poor family with the misery they live through and the rich family with their perfect and happy lives.
