Paranormal Witness (2011– )
8/10
Very Scary Show
11 August 2012
I have watched a lot of paranormal shows and in my opinion this one is one of the best. It retells the stories about paranormal events people have experienced by combining re-enacted scenes with real interviews and sometimes real footage. The show is able to create such an eerie and scary atmosphere that you feel like you were there when the event took place. After seeing season 1 episode 1, I had to watch them all. Season 2 should be promising, however I am not sure how I feel about S2E1 this ghost story is familiar to me and I am not quite sure I buy the whole ghost trying to hang a man with a make shift noose in the attic story, I feel this could be a hoax but you never know, they seem very reasonable and truthful people who would not be still lying about something for 20 some years but stranger things have happened.

Something was missing...
10 April 2008
Oh yeah, what was missing was, a good movie.

The film is about separate individuals of different ages and professions discussing the issues that involve the war on terror. Tom Cruise is a U.S. senator who has a plan to win the war on terror. He uses a reporter, Meryl Streep, to promote his new strategy to the public. He does this by arranging a meeting with the reporter to discuss and debate his tactics. Robert Redford is a university professor who has a meeting with a student he beliefs has potential for great things, who has lately became a slacker and has giving up on the politicians of America. The purpose of his meeting is to get the student to realize his actions and beliefs are wrong. That doing nothing does not make him better. The 2 set of characters never actually meet, in fact the whole movie is the set of to different offices, the senators office and the professors. The only other scenes are minimal shots of Redford's previous students he also had high hopes However they have enlisted in the U.S. army. The reason for there action was to become people who get involved and don't just talk about changing the world. The film tries to focus on so many different characters and viewpoints, it lacks any real character development or story.

I seen "I Saw What You Did"
9 April 2008
I seen this film on TV late at night. I started viewing during the first scene of prank calls. The 3 main girls were playing them on random people they found in the phone book. There was something about this film that made me keep watching. A lot of old black and white movies are like this, they are interesting enough, just to the point you want to know what happens next. I also remember wanting to see what kids during this time period could come up with that was funny to say on a prank call. There jokes were kind of lame but watching people do this so long ago is pretty amusing anyways. The whole time I was watching the film I thought it was "Dial M for Murder" or "When a Stranger Calls". Since I didn't see either of those films before, I was unknown of their plot so I thought either one could be what I was watching. This film's plot is pretty simple and unrealistic. The girls play the same prank phone call over and over again to different people telling them that they know who they are and saw what they did, until coincidently they call a man who has murdered a woman that same day. He obviously takes the call seriously and must track down these witnesses. I Know it's suppose to be a scary film but I feel even for the standards of the time it's pretty light. It was probably a film made for kids to go to during the Saturday matinée, to get a good scare and also get the message across to not make prank phone calls. However the film is enjoyable and memorable.

A classic fuel injected film
23 March 2008
Movies like "Dirty Mary Crazy Larry" are of a genre all in there own, made popular throughout the 60's and 70's they are full of mostly fast paced car chase sequences and very little plot, or character depth. "Dirty Mary Crazy Larry" however stands out amongst others in it's genre due to the way the story plays out and how it ends unexpectedly different then other such chase films of its time. The characters are all in the chase together but only for themselves and not each other, each running from there own personal issue and using one another along the way to there advantage. The story follows a group of 3 outsiders on the run from the law after robbing a grocery store manager. Larry (Peter Fonda) an ex-race car driver who didn't get exactly where he wanted in his professional life behind the wheel, is taking on the police to prove what he can do when in control of a V8. Mary (Susan George) is a local of that town who is looking for any excuse to escape her small time life and Deke Sommers (Adam Roarke) Larry's mechanic and right hand man who also hasn't had much luck in life because of a former struggle with alcohol. Together they prove to be unstoppable to the small town law enforcement even when they try using supped up police cars and helicopters they can't seem to match the sharp driving skills of Larry and his bright yellow 1969 Dodge Charger. However different from other chase films it has its share of usual corny dialogue, and over the top characters, but it is these elements that make it fun to watch and experience what 70's cinema was all about!

The Matrix (1999)
10/10
This generations defining action film!
28 December 2007
This film was so different from everything else I had ever seen when it first came out. I remember the trailer showing such different visuals then what I was use to at the time, like, why and how is that girl in a black leather suit jumping from building to building. This was 1999 by the way before the comic book superhero adaption film frenzy. So at first I was just curious about it. I remember leaving some other film and on my way out of the theatre noticing it was playing down the hall. I just wanted to have a look at it to see what it was like. I opened the theatre door and slowly sat in with the crowd already viewing the film. You could tell the film was near its conclusion and I was in awe, when I seen the slow motion camera work and advanced special effects. Once I seen the movie from start to finish, it was officially my favorite film. I think this is the action film that defines my generation. The film was bold and daring, and pulled off more than it's creators probably meant to. It completely redefined action films from then on. I can't count how many films and video games, bullet-time has been featured in after this film was released. The Matrix is truly one of kind. What more can you ask for, The Matrix has an interesting plot, the best intense action sequences and a cool soundtrack. It is a classic of our generation.

Blow (2001)

Blow, blew me away!
28 December 2007
This film is simply amazing. The story, cast and soundtrack are all perfect. Johnny Depp's role as America's #1 cocaine distributer, George "Boston George" Young reminds me of that of a rock and roll star, using his talents to have everything one day but making a lot of mistakes and having nothing the next. The story of George climbing the latter of the drug importing/exporting business is more then entertaining. This film is full of memorable scenes and quotes, accompanied by an awesome 70's soundtrack that completes the mood of the story. I feel this movie is an instant classic and definitely Depp's best performance. This is the film that made me appreciate cinematography, every shot in this film is unique and represents the mood of the scene. At the end of George's journey you might wonder about his choices in life and if they were really worth it. One thing you will know for sure, the film was worth watching.
