Something was missing...
10 April 2008
Oh yeah, what was missing was, a good movie.

The film is about separate individuals of different ages and professions discussing the issues that involve the war on terror. Tom Cruise is a U.S. senator who has a plan to win the war on terror. He uses a reporter, Meryl Streep, to promote his new strategy to the public. He does this by arranging a meeting with the reporter to discuss and debate his tactics. Robert Redford is a university professor who has a meeting with a student he beliefs has potential for great things, who has lately became a slacker and has giving up on the politicians of America. The purpose of his meeting is to get the student to realize his actions and beliefs are wrong. That doing nothing does not make him better. The 2 set of characters never actually meet, in fact the whole movie is the set of to different offices, the senators office and the professors. The only other scenes are minimal shots of Redford's previous students he also had high hopes However they have enlisted in the U.S. army. The reason for there action was to become people who get involved and don't just talk about changing the world. The film tries to focus on so many different characters and viewpoints, it lacks any real character development or story.
