Everyone Fantasizes about being abducted
nogodnomasters8 July 2019
Warning: Spoilers
The film has a lot of boring monotones and needless narration by design. With plastic sheeting being on sale, a house is surrounded by the sheeting. Three neighbor girls get curious and investigate. They get captured and Plot Spoiler, the reason is to be either converted into "drones" who serve the beast we never see (low budget) or get fed to the beast. This all requires preparation, sometimes with clothes on and sometimes removed depending on how nice the body and their movie contract.

At no time was there a tripod ever used and the camera cuts off more heads than Hercules fighting the Lernaean Hydra. The filler talk was boring too. Cheap and bad.

Guide: F-word. Nudity.

Bad . Really Bad!
ferdmalenfant5 July 2019
When you see a 10/10 followed by a bunch of 1/10 the 1/10 is the one to believe. Such a bad, cheap movie, not even worth watching 5 minutes.

Absolutely dreadful. Who makes these?
amrahs_tima4 July 2019
Horribly made movie. I think the only ten out of ten here is a professional reviewer with some vested interests. This movie is no where near watchable. Everything from acting to directing to cinematography are absolutely pathetic. School kids would have done a better job. They probably do. I'm not going to waste any more time even reviewing this drivel. Best avoid this garbage.

Stay away from this stinker.
psxexperten3 July 2019
One of the worst movies I have seen in a long time. I won't waste many words on this review, as the poor production, camerawork, sound, and acting in this film does not warrant it. In summary, avoid watching this at all costs, if I could take back the time I spent watching it I still wouldn't - because I have sacrificed it for any of you who happen to read this review. High score rating is obviously from friends of the cast and crew.

Complete waste of resources (time, money, effort, anything!!you name it!!)
kperakis16 July 2019
Possibly one of the worst movies I have seen!!I started watching at 1,5* speed once I started getting bored, and still consider it to be an absolute waste of my time!!!I don't mind it being low budget!!I truly don't!!!But please...put some love into what you produce!!!The whole "movie" was boring, and totally predictable since the beginning! The production team thought that stealing some ideas and techniques from some of the good thriller/horror movies out there, would produce something worthwhile!not by any chance!a couple of self-acclaimed smoking hot girls....a bunch of greasy looking guys with dirty white suits and greasy gas masks...and a dead octopus looking alien...no horror...no originality, nothing!!!I don't get why these things are even produced!!! honestly!!!do yourselves a favor and don't watch this one...it's not even cult enough to watch it...it's just bad...

extremely bad movie with correct statement
NijazBaBs8 July 2019
This movie is about nonsense of boring life. And it proves it by being itself nonsense boring. The correct statement at the end of the movie does not make it any better. Nothing to see. Youtube video? Maybe! Movie? Definitely not! This looks like those typical amateur vlogs and not like movie. Meaning even cartoons are more real. Everything is so fake, predictable, boring, lacking expalanation except that one sentence at the end. Did not see any beauty nor adventure in girls either. Even masks are not made with any effort. Everything is like garbage, dirty, sick, immoral. Everybody could make this movie. Even fake effects are only available 1% of the time. Not good to watch, one of the worst.

Fetish of horror
TheLittleSongbird24 September 2019
Really don't know what drove me into seeing 'Abduction 101'. On reflection, will put it down to curiosity, with it appearing in my "more like this" section and also not actually minding low-budget and appreciating horror. It certainly wasn't the concept (which sounded really bad and ridiculous), the cover (which was hardly anything unique), the title (a generic one and reading the story summary it seemed at odds with it) or the reviews (had heard next to nothing halfway decent about it).

'Abduction 101' turned out to be that awful, actually it was even worse than expected. Actually feel angry at myself for listening to my oft-misguided curiosity and not paying attention to those warning me to not give it a chance, they are right on the money on this one. Am not trying to sound harsh, this is my annoyance talking while controlling it enough to not sound self-centred (like so many reviewers these days). And no, that it is low budget is no excuse for such bad quality, some films that are low budget actually show effort in the other elements and turn out at least reasonably. Saw no degree of effort here in 'Abduction 101'.

Where to begin with the criticising? The production values look very cheap throughout. Especially so with the distractingly chaotic editing in the last act, while there is no atmosphere in the photography or lighting. This looked like a student film that was assessed and failed on a catastrophic level. The music over-emphasises everything inappropriately and can get repetitive, again especially in the last act.

The writing is completely flat with an awkward flow and can get self-indulgent. Particularly in the early portions of the film (or the first act), with it being most noticeable in the narration. Which was completely pointless, had no depth or subtlety and felt disconnected from what was going on rather than moving the storytelling forward. The story is paper thin, so dull that it makes the short length at least twice as long and felt like three separate badly plotted films in one.

Starting with a first act that very quickly loses the viewer's attention and goes on forever. The narration really did need to go. The middle is the least bad section, but not by much. There is still no tension or suspense, it is more silly than entertaining and the shock and sleaze factors are taken so excessively far they come over as gratuitous. And one can go on with pointing out what was so bad about the truly amateurish in all senses third act.

None of the characters engage or endear, all flimsy and irritating. The acting makes going through the motions acting look good. All of the actors look so detached and so distant with each other. Any sense of threat, which is next to none in the first place, is too predictable and bland.

In a nutshell, awful. 1/10

This horror Done rite!
shagee79772 March 2019
The film opens with narration of a survivor (Luna Labelle) of a kidnapping. The narrator is captivating and really gives intensity and understanding of the movie's premise. The young girl who narrates has a voice that draws you rite in and not only puts you on edge but places you in the situation she just experienced.

Robin Entreinger and Steve Noir's Abduction 101 bring you to a familiar area explored so many times, but make it fun. The set up is your girls in peril, but they create a horrific movie that takes you for the ride. The Oregon deep woods makes a perfect setting that is believable on what there about to experience.

It's raw and gritty and shot so well. The actress do so well in there respective parts. The whole movie is set in the Dark and vastness of the Forrest. 3 women in a house tucked in the woods agree on checking a mysterious house, one of them stumbled on while going for a run. One of the girls observes guys with masks carry bags in an out. After convincing her friends to investigate they arm themselves with an ax and a video camera. There going to reveal the mystery. What appears to be just a renovation reveals something more horrible and possibly deadly!

What was supposed to be a harmless investigation and snooping experience gets them captured and part of the evil experiments there conducting!

There held against there will and tied up in makeshift cells that are covered in clear plastic. One of the girls is stripped naked and hooked there evil experiments are brought upon her. But what is in the pool and what are these girls in for. What is force fed into one of the other girls mouth and what horrible effects will it have? Will they escape and expose the wilderness Drones as they call them?

The movie feels and plays like the great Slasher flicks of the 80's even with the video camera the girls take on there investigation. It is not insulting to the Genre but so well done and suspenseful. From then opening scene to the credits it puts you on edge and goes in full steam immediately. Cast And crew pulled this off in a movie shot entirely outside. You feel the raw intensity the Directors were looking for. Old school killings and no computer effects here. That adds more to the grit and reality...almost like a snuff film. But without the shaky and found footage nonsense! The quality of picture and sound is perfect!

I loved the movie and the characters but I feel Luna Labelle narration really sealed the deal to make this as chilling as it came out. Her views and explanations of what she experienced brings light and substance to what your watching. I hope to see this and all the other actresses in more movies Nd can't wait to see what is next from the group of Filmmakers!

What's with all the hate?
TheSchinppenSchnaff12 July 2019
If you're going to watch a low budget movie, don't complain about it being low budget.

I though it was relatively well shot. The costumes were clever. The concept was interesting. Not overly original, but nonetheless a movie that stands out as its own title.

One could describe the acting as awful, but I really didn't see a need for acting outside of the protagonist. The the girls in the cabin just need to serve as a vehicle for progressing the story. They did that and managed to give you the impression they were trying to present three different individuals.

Unlike a lot of budget horror, this movie was not pretentious. The ending was ambiguous, but when you consider that a dead girl was telling the story, an ending where she floats off to heaven (or something to that effect) would have just come across as cheep.

Either way, if you like indie horror movies, this is worth a watch.

Sucks yes, but not too bad for the budget
namob-4367310 August 2019
If you compare this movie to masterpieces like The Witch or the Shining than of course you need to give it a 1/10, but considering the budget put in, I do not feel such comparisons are very relevant.

Plus for trying, the main protagonist, and some originality.

Minus for almost everything else, and especially the camerawork which is so bad I had a very hard time watching the movie.

I was however decently entertained, mostly because they tried a few things and I really liked the main actress, but good movie? No.

Abduction 101 is much, Much, much better than the second worst movie of the year; "Us", which was so badly done I left the theatre, so if you want to give a scary movie 1/10, that one deserves it a lot more. I will be generous and give Abduction 101 a 4/10 for reasons stated above. Not worth a watch though and I cannot recommend.
