A great character

A very moving episode. Very well done.
Special mention of the character Carl Jimenez, a very caring and full of emotion patient advocate. This character and the actor, Frankie J. Alvarez should come back in other episodes; the developing of this character should be placed as a regular in the show.
Sinning isn't cool

Feeling more and more compelled to leave reviews on these shows, for all the wrong reasons.
I'm starting this show, in 2021, via Netflix. What once was an enjoyable watch, due to the emotional (albeit sappy) plot lines, is now becoming an enjoyable show due to the horrible dialogue found in many of the subplots.
It's like every non-regular who makes an appearance, is fresh out of their acting school-or, the writers are starting to succumb to the pressures of cranking out 21 episodes.
The main cast is still holding my interest, but these supporting actors are something else, lol
Either way, it's become a fun drinking game for my gf and I, to take a drink every time the dialogue causes us to audibly exclaim: "OH, COME ON!!!" haha
Needless to say, the storyline with the Catholics had this former Catholic reaching for his holy wine.

Badly Written Episode

Warning: Spoilers
Usually I enjoy each episode, but the writing was off on this episode. They need to stick with the same writer as the rest. Dr. Frome was completely out of character. I know nobody is perfect, but it was too much. All of a sudden he was a terrible listener, ex. with Dr. Reynolds and his daughter. Dr. Sharpe's storyline for this episode was okay, not that exciting though. I thought the pope security made an interesting scenario. I had never seen that on another series before. The silliest and most annoying thing about the episode was the boy that didn't want his parents to get divorced (to save his life) because his parents made him think they were going to go to hell if they got divorced.
Highlights: Dr. Kapoor scene's were great (as usual) and Lauren is opening up.

Next time, have a Catholic read the script

Warning: Spoilers
The storyline with the Cardinal and the young heart transplant patient was not only poorly written - gosh, who didn't see the last minute permission from the Pope coming - it was insensitive to devout Catholics. While I appreciate the accuracy of the parents dialog in expressing the dilemma, I know that none of us would make a snap decision like that without consulting our priest or spiritual advisor. No mention was even made of needing to pray about such a dilemma. Nope...just jump right to signing those papers. Then, Lo and behold the Cardinal swoops in to say that the Holy Father says "it's cool", so it's all tied in a neat bow. I've noted that when a medical treatment violates the religious beliefs of other religions, medical procedural shows go to great lengths to respect the belief system. However, when anything involves Catholicism, we are painted as unreasonable and the ones who need to change. Well, this episode scores another for the anti-Catholic agenda.
