Touching tale of a man's search for closure
subha-viswanathan5 March 2020
Paced slowly, to help us absorb the surroundings and mood, this movie leaves you teary eyed. You see the beautiful locale and the river, the vastness of which stuns you, given that this is where the search happens. You follow a man's search for the dead bodies of his 2 sons, facing countless obstacles and you feel it's futile at some point. But the man doesn't give up. He sings songs, he remembers his sons so tender-ly and never gives up. The actor who plays father was excellent. The way he finally "chooses" his closure breaks your heart. Beautiful, slow film which feels so natural and true.

What an eerie delight!

I didn't know anything about this movie prior to watching.

One of the producers is a co-worker of mine and everyone was invited to go see it.

From the first shot, you can tell the movie knows where it wants to go.

The very intentional widescreen aspect immediately captures you into the world of the movie, with the endless river, endless roads, endless search,...

Then, we have the main actor, whose eyes and body language speak more than words ever could. The strong, fierce, skinny, old man looks as menacing as any Hollywoodian hero and ready to take his position as one.

In summary, go see it! Mainly if you're South American!
