Vikram does the same mistake again and again over the years. 1 getup per movie is enough to make it success for him. I don't know why he always get stuck with dual roles or more than 2 roles.

Irumugan was such a nice movie until the love character introduced. It went on to become a super flop just because of that 1 character. 'I' movie was mislead by the beast getup which came just for 1 song. Rajapattai was mislead by the pirates character and many hollywood villain getup which come for 1 useless song.

Next mistake he makes is adding love scenes and commercial content. Sketch, Rajapattai, Irumugan, Kanthaswamy. Thaandavam, saamy2.

This movie does the same 3 mistakes. The movie gets more confusing after the 2nd Vikram is introduced. 1 is more than enough. It was already established he was having multiple personalities and then 2nd vikram and then sentimental scenes are all boring. Heroine running behind vikram and lost interest for another 20-30 mins.

Original movie is 3h 3m 3s because director's lucky number is 3. Come on grow up guys. You are wasting your own career. It was trimmed 20 mins of villain portion. Cut 20 more mins of romance portion too. 2h movie is more than enough.

boring, irritating and below average

Happened to watch much awaited Cobra Exteremly disappointed seeing the pathetic take. Chiyaan's obessession - as we can say "multiple get ups" only worked out in Anniyan, from that movie till this , he only put effort in getting into costumes.

The movie lags like anything, it doesnt have a decent stunt, unnecessory romance, songs, I was amazed to see the extremly low quality of vfx, it felt like some kid used MS paint to add vfx into the movie.

Story is clieched, unbearable acting of Srinidhi Shetty, Mrinalini Ravi, Meenakshi Govindarajan. I felt too irritated witnessing their clieched dialogues and over acting

Not sure why Irfan Pathan acted as a sub hero role but he did his role well

There are many roles which felt completely unnecessory Mamukkoya, Robo Shankar, Anand Raj etc

AR Rahman's music is below average,

Roshan Mathew as a villain is a failed attempt.

More over the 20 minutes cut, they did it in the climax portion, which was again a blunder. The story itself made up like "If we prove the story is complicated, then it will run" too many dimensions ruined the story .

On the whole , not even worth watching for OTT (coming in Sony live)

Once again Vikram gave dedicative performance in a average movie . Story was good but screenplay was poor and clumsy . First half , had some intresting assassination sequence , romance part was totally meh and interval twist was good . Second half was totally clumsy writing . Direction wasn't upto the mark . Main positive was Interrogation room hallucination scene particularly Vikram gave a impressive performance in that scene . ARR music was good and eventhough songs were good its placement was poor in the movie . Technically , editing was poor and visually not appealing for ME . Finally , they tried something different in commercial cinema unfortunately misfired .

Movie starts very well and the first half was interesting for me and has hidden story line not revealed fully. Both hit songs utilised in the first half and it helped very much for the movie flow. After the interval, the hidden story lines are revealed one by one till the climax.

The biggest problem is the second half is so confusing and abrupt climax. There is not much scope for entertainment, just movie goes in its flow and ends... Vikram was outstanding in first half and looked tired in the second half.

Movie is not bad, definitely one time watchable. ARR marks his presence in songs and in action blocks....

A very boring movie. 1st half is average. However, 2nd half tests ur patience.

Some of the character selection is not good. The executions are done not in a detailed manner just like hollywood films leaving many loopholes and questions in the script. The VFX is too bad. The BGM score is also not so impressive. Not even one of the song was shot properly.

Some of the scenes have no logic at all. Vikram acting is good. But again it's kind of repetitive from his past films. Too dramatic. Entire flashback should have been cut shorted by several minutes easily. It is confusion sometimes.

A better cast, clean screenplay is missing.

Vikram acting was good but remembering Anniyan.

Cobra is not one, but two different movies; both mid

Fresh out of Ajay Gnanamuthu's Cobra, and it honestly feels like I watched 2 entirely different movies pre and post interval. We start off with a somewhat underworld assassin crime thriller of sorts, which while over the top at moments, had its fair share of enjoyable bites. And then with the interval, we have what feels like an entirely new movie; one that feels like every other wannabe-posh Tamil action movie, where some characters already established in the first half start acting nothing like it in the second, and some more being entirely sidelined making us wonder why they were even included in the first place.

I wouldn't say Cobra is a bad movie, nor that its not enjoyable, but it's not groundbreaking in any way. It just gets ridiculously over the top with every passing minute, building up to a mind numbingly lazy and disappointing climax. Technically too this movie has a lot of weaknesses. The music is very easily forgettable, which sad given how such a statement could even be said about an ARR composed soundtrack. The VFX was painfully apparent in some scene. The makeup got somewhat cheesy, never leaving the uncanny valley; where you know you're not looking at an actual human face, but a heavily pasted prosthetic. And even certain shot selections seemed questionable.

Being as critical as I am about this movie is only because I engaged with it enough to care about its own internal consistencies. It's certainly not a movie you'll ever regret watching in a theatre, but it's not one you'll miss out on if you don't either.

Out and Out Chiyaan Show

Vikram is the best. What an acting by sir Vikram in this movie, and the story is just excellent 10/10 for every single actor in this movie. Wow, what a movie. Proud of South Indian film industry who are giving many exceptional movies continuously. Ajay take a bow. Screenplay action and mind blowing BGM. Story was very different from other movies and the musics are amazing. Costume and makeup are outstanding. I love the movie very much. Don't have any words to describe this film you can say that its a masterpiece and it probably one of the best love story movie made on India highly reccomended.

Only 10% of people can understand this movie story line

This movie story line is different from others it contains different type of story line that you would never expected. So, that it will take sometimes to understand it fully. And most of all there are some gaps in the movie that need not filled correctly. I feel some explanation required for Vikram mother's background and the movie is moving at very fast rate even if it has 3hrs of running time. I felt that some people's struggling to get the rhythm of it. So at last movie storyline is good but the showing of it for people is not good. Because so many people doesn't understand the maths based movies and also the mind planning movies. It will take time for these types, if these types of movies coming again and again means then they will also understand it properly.

Confusing, Convoluted, Long and Boring!

Cobra being too ambitious is both a boon as well as bane. The ambitiousness shows off in the film's attempt to push the scale in terms of grandeur, which is visible in most of the first half. It is also visible in the writing, especially when the film uses theories from mathematics to make the crimes very interesting. Unfortunately, the stretches of brilliance are short-lived as the film does get predictable towards the end. There are instances where the film tries too hard to look ambitious, and this is also one of the reasons why the narrative after a plot twist never holds up.

The film definitely needed better casting. Apart from Vikram, who shines in yet another hand-picked, the rest of the support cast barely makes any impact. Roshan Mathew, who is generally effortless and quite convincing so far in his career, hams it up big time in a largely annoying negative role. It's a poorly written character that turns irksome after a point.

This is what you call a hollywood level film,just ignore those normie guy's reviews and watch in your own flavour.

There's no flaw in execution of this so complex story and none other than ajay would have done honour to this

ARR's music to the peak,adheera and tharangini holds two flashbacks and many story plots are conveyed through songs

I guess or find no place of flawlessness,only flaw is in people's pov and their inability of taking this movie.

Guys would miss this now and later on will rant that they missed a masterpiece, also to them who calls ajay from arm's school of direction,bro ajay is far great from arm

The amount of effort everyone has put,prolly the director the most, researching each and every possibilities taking it so carefully to the last, don't justice to the characters, story,plotline etc

TBH cobra is the next gen movie, if you can't process then your memory execution went error,not the story execution.

Cobra is such film which has been inspired from hollywood films (talking about the depth of plot).. But what happens??

The first half of film is very much fine, keeping u in s suspense but the second half was quite predictable, seems a totally different film.. Yah, the storyline is confusing, director somewhere lost the actual plot..

Vikram as usual acted very beautifully and accurately.. but again Srinidhi again she was quite casual, not improved at all.. Songs were continuous but great one.. Rahman's supremacy yet again proved ...Cinematography , choreography were great according to budget.. Irfan must be much better.. Already I watched it twice and reviewing it.. Story must be way better.. But a very good approach..

Must watch once.

The first half is fun, excited keeps you completely on one side, the other half will force you to go home.

Positive thing: Vikram sir's performance, great visuals, strong story, VFX, action, above all mathematical assessment.

Negative Thing: Rahman sir's rote music, love episodes, useless songs, unnecessarily story analysis. Long stretches of time There was no need for long unintended of cinema.

Still, there are some such scenes that your money gets recovered, I don't wants to be spoiler, yet the scene of Rassia is my favorite one Overall Vikram sir's die-hard will not be disappointed like vijay devrakonda's.

Vikram's character name is Madhiazhagan is a Maths Professor who executes murders by his mathematical skills...But also he had an another face where he struggles his life due to hallucination...So what happens next forms the rest part of the story....

Positive Factors of the Movie.... 👍👍👍

1) Chiyaan Vikram astounding performance...If its Aniyan, I , Irumugham or now Cobra he never fails to impress the audience....

2) Execution of Crime by mathematics is a new concept for me while watching as it was interesting to watch and that made the most portion of the 1st half watchable...Ajay Gnanamuthu screenplay excelled....

Negative Factors of the Movie ....👎👎👎

1) Vikram - Srinidhi Shetty combo not at all convincing... If she scored well in Kgf, here she failed... Moreover vikram- srinidhi rom com situations was forcefully added to the screenplay a kind of feeling happened...

2) Roshan Mathew as antagonist... Another failure in casting as he portrays an antagonist who just boozes, a womaniser but to give a tough competition to the protagonist which we saw in Adheera vs Rocky in Kgf 2 or Prakash Rah vs Vijay in Pokiri, here he just tanked literally...

3) AR Rahman music was good and BGM during a specific fight sequence was gripping....

4) Climax was taken in a dramatic mode which lost the essence....

5) Another mis casting was of Irfan Pathan. Nothing waoww performance came from him...

6) 2nd half would have been trimmed....

Overall a one time Watchable Movie witnessing Chiyaan Vikram Performance.

Not able to understand

It looks like meaningless movie with full of high crime without reasons. Lot of nonsense. I wasted my money and time to watch this meaningless movie. Vikram himself looks very crack in this movie. Nothing is good and only shooting in Western countries. No use. Tamil movies must be made as pan India movies. Only few local sentiments. Come out with innovative ideas and look bigger. No use of making movies like this. Full of hipe without reason. Why do you want to make such movies to destroy our money and time. Learn to be meaningful. You are all fired with immediate effect from Tamil film industry.

Good but could have been better

The movie was a good one but 2nd half was a bit dragging . The mathematical plot and the physics applied in the first half makes you feel like you are watching a Hollywood movie. Vikram as always gave his best. Irfan pathan did a decent job in his debut as an actor. Few negatives I would like to point out . The casting of Roshan Mathews as villain was Poor. The villain should have had a big physique for the charecter. Also Roshan was overacting. Another thing was the hallucinating scenes were a bit far stretched. Especially they tried to do comedy with some hallucinating scenes of Vikram.srinidhi Shetty also did a good job. Apart from these, the movie is definitely one time watchable.

I went to watch this movie as Vikram is a very talented actor and I heard some good publicity about it. As soon as 10 minutes in the movie ridiculousness took over the script. Some high teenager written this movie in his sleep maybe. No logic, boredom and snoozefest continued for 3 hours. I never felt more tortured in a very bad way while watching a movie. I give 5 star to main actors acting ability and deduct atleast 10-15 points for mindless script. Even a bollywood masala movie has more entertainment value than this criminal brainstorming crap. I hope I never had to go through all this again ever in my life. I fought with my sleep and literally lost a couple of times but I had to watch it so that I can live to tell this review. This movie can cut its crap by 1.5hrs and make a below average something but it decided to torture its audience for 3 plus hours.

Best Vikram since I

Cobra is an awesome and must watch thriller which brings involvement in viewers.. Before a case is solved(as the assumption is shown in the film) by the character in one angle, the viewers get their own different ideas of solving the case in various possible angles.

Well done 👏 Hats off to all characters and the director, immensely strong characters and amazing script with unexpected twist and turns.. MIND BLOWING PERFORMANCE by our Chiyaan Vikram who plays a clever mathematician in this movie!! Movie was said to be 3 hours but it felt fast due to the jet pace screenplay. Some people might get shades of ambi but all in all its the best Vikram movie since I. What a dedication and to put on so many costumes is commendable.

Ajay gnamuthu may disappoint you but chiyan and ARR will not

After delivering a great horror thriller demonte colony and a great crime thriller imakka nodigal ajay gnamuthu is back with his next a pshychological action thriller cobra starring chiyan vikram sir as a lead and music by isai puyal ARR cobra is a film about madhi who is a talented mathematician who successful commits crime using his mathematical talent and by wearing multiple getups chiyan vikram sir delievers a brilliant and a great performance as usual the other characters such as srinithi shetty, miranalini ravi, robo shankar,ks ravikumar,irfan pathan, meenakshi govindarajan, roshan andrews all are performed very well but there characters are not written properly the music by ARR is quite great both in background score and songs he is one of the great pillairs of this film. Cinemotagraphy done by the debutant harrish kannan was fanatastic and rich the stunt cherography by dhilip subbarayan is also an main highlight of this film each and every stunt sequences were great and amazing the promblem of cobra is its writing and the duration the writing is not bad or weak but it is very confusing and complex at the same time the screenplay was highly lagging mainly in second half the next most weakness is that its duration the film runs for nearly 3 hours which tests the patience of the audience the other characters except chiyan vikram sir was not properly written especially the rishi the villain character ARR's allowed songs were great but placement of the songs were the great minus the romantic portion between chiyan and miranalini may help the story for a core but the romantic portion between chiyan and srinithi is a extra feeting for the film the first half of the film was really good and racy especially the interval twist was really great and unpredictable but the second half was very slow and lagging in the whole second half the introgation scene was the only great scene where chiyan's acting was top notch the climax of the film was disappointing to the core overall cobra is not bad but at the same time not great too watchable one time Postives :- chiyan's performance, ARR's music, harrish kannan cinemotagraphy, dhilip subbarayan stunt sequences, first half, interval twist and the introgation scene Negatives :- confused and complex writing, lagging screenplay, weakly written characters ( except chiyan ), duration, second half, unwanted romance portions, placement of songs and a disappointing climax.

Long and boring cobra

The first half was too good ,it was like watching a hollywood movie but second half went like vijay tv serial with too much of lag. Ya we had too much of expectations but the cobra failed to satisfy it. First half is worst watching for one time but second half was sorry to say this it was pure form of lag. According to me vikram sir is one of the finest actor but in our tamil industry the directors are failing to give him a good script. Positive things in this movie were vikram sir acting and some really good sences in first half. The negative things are obviously the second half and there were no proper building of characters, in second half we confuse ourselves with mathi and kathir( movie characters). Again I'm sorry to say this kindly don't waste your money by going to theatre within this week because during first week of the new flim the ticket cost is 200 to 190 which is seriously not worthy for it . If u wanna see this flim just go to theatre after one week so the ticket cost may reduce or its really better if u wait for its ott release. Thank you for spending your time for readying this and kindly consider the message and wait for ott don't waste your hard earned money its not worthy for it .....

A very good movie this is the genuine intelligence displayed by the director, a masterpiece.🔥💯💯. The screenplay, direction and the script was soo good and engaging. The music was top-notch. First half, interval block and the second half the whole movie is a treat for the intellectuals and A centre audiences. Powerful Movie with Powerful scenes and making. Cobra 🐍 is really a masterpiece.

Well done 👏 Hats off to all characters and the director, immensely strong characters and amazing script with unexpected twist and turns.. Firstly there is no Built in English subtitles so it's impossible to understand foreign fan like us. Secondly they forcefully inserted tamil language in the English dialogues. They've made a great mistake by not adding the sub , I admit the story is good but the makers should think about the non tamil region .Also forcefully inserted Tamil is so disgusting. Hence, it's my humble request that the English subtitled version should be Released as soon as possible so that we, the foreign viewers enjoy the masterpiece of Vikram sir . We'll be very thankful to the director and all the people who were attached with this film.

This might be the worst film I've ever seen.

If logic were a cat, during the making of Cobra it leapt out of the window and travelled across to the other side of the world.

The assassinations are cringe. Simply cringe, with 1950s level visuals, no maths at all (only basic 8th grade physics and chemistry). Roshan Matthew's character is unnecessary, cliched, and incredibly stupid. Gnanamuthu should learn that villain does not = hedonistic psychopathic businessman.

Vikram acting, as always, is unbearable. The way he thinks he is so good (visible on screen) combined with his overdramatic performance don't match. The second half was disconnected to the first, and unconvincing destined-to-be lovers but one is too rich for the other induces vomit.

Please, I beg, do not watch this film. Stay away at all costs. If you do watch this film take a bottle of bleach beside you as you need it to bleach your eyes several times.

Too Complex for Common man !!

Apart from how the film was made, Vikram sir is on top notch.

In Indian cinema there is a probability of audience who is going to accept( understand ) the second half of the movie, Even though it is too complex to understand, "director" can make it out as a great movie with a clean screenplay without creating complexity for the audience: But also a person with a mere cinematic knowledge can pull it off.

While creating such type of complex screenplay in second half, even when the audience are watching vikram sir performance, they couldn't concentrate on one such moment.

Over all the film is good in certain aspects, if an only the screenplay the backstory could have told in a proper way.

Visual torture all the way

I feel so silly to have waited for this movie. And even sillier to have actually paid extra for choosing seats. Gone are the days when Vikram movie were guaranteed to excite. This was a long and traumatic 3 hours.

The direction was bad, the cast was bad, the story was a total let down. Granted Vikrams acting was good, but then again, the whole movie appeared to be an excuse to showcase his acting spectrum. Some of the characters were completely meaningless for the plot of the movie. The protagonists character keeps building up till the very end of the movie. I mean, the least they could have done is have a good script. I am truly disappointed in this movie. Vikram is amongst my favorite actors, but now i question myself. Irfan Pathans role, well, less I say the better. My personal advice, should you choose to heed it, is to skip this movie. Even watching this on OTT would be a waste of time.
