The season is getting darker and darker.. I don't know how it ends... I love it how they use flashbacks..everything is top notch and the ending of the episode is really going to be bloodshed next week....

Something wicked this way comes...

After the previous two episodes 'The laughing Place' and 'The Mother', that were both totally breathtaking imo, it is time for 'The Word'. An episode that is not really as spectacular and generous as the last two, but feels more like a very necessary step on a ladder so we can get even higher up.

We take this step and travel to the past for most of the episode. This is something that always makes me somewhat nervous, as I feel they will take a break from the story that really interests me to instead bore me with a history-lesson that doesn't.

But don't fear! This episode is very far from boring! It's dark and full of horror and uncomprimising. And it will give you such a large and interesting chunck of information about what's going on presently in Castle Rock, that by the end of it you'll be even more hyped up to see what the rest of this wonderful series will bring.

Or maybe on second thought.... DO FEAR, as clearly far more darkness than you expected is coming to Castle Rock....

Warning: Spoilers
I liked this episode a lot, but I'm a fan of back story. I like the surprise at the end. Which I had guessed. However... this tells me that one whole episode from season 1 was made up purely for the purposes of misdirection. When it shows the life of the "other" Henry. That means none of that was real... doesn't upset me.. just weird that one whole episode was fake.

This rocks!

OMG! All through this season, I kept thinking we were having a mostly-unrelated-to-season-one story in the saga of Castle Rock. I had no idea of how wrong I was!

I had become immersed in the story of Annie and Joy and thought it was all about them, which was a good enough tale. Even when we saw that the resurrected dead guys were targeting Annie as the vessel for the last one to be raised, I still thought it was about her.

But when the 1619 story introduced the Angel and I saw the hooded figure, I started to have my suspicions. And when we learned that Ace had gone to Shawshank and gone down to the cell on the lowest level where The Kid had been kept, I was so excited. I loved the backstory of the creepy suicide cult and I loved that we've got Bill Skarsgaard back!

This is just getting better and better!

The kid is back and he is the Angel of death. I was shocked that Bill Skårsgard is back! What an amazing episode! I need the next episode now!!!

What an amazing episode. Season 1 now makes perfect sense. Will our pirate friend be the hero that Castle Rock needs from this Evil invasion? Or will he team up with the likes of Henry Deaver to stop the menace which has overtaken Castle Rock? So many questions yet so little episodes left , can't wait!

"Something bad is coming."
classicsoncall20 February 2023
Warning: Spoilers
If you ever wondered if the two seasons of 'Castle Rock' had anything to do with each other, the answer is revealed here. There were hints offered along the way when Ace Merrill, now 'Augustin' (John Sparks), makes his way to the 'F' level of Shawshank Prison and finds no one in The Kid's (Bill Skarsgård) cell. The ancient story of New Jerusalem begins to make sense now, as the characters from the beginning of this second season take on the personas of their ancient forebears, leading up to the resurrection of a cult leader named Amity (Mathilde Dehaye) from the past. It looks like Annie Wilkes (Lizzy Caplan) is the target to bring a four-hundred-year-old prophecy to fruition, and in the best Stephen King tradition, you have to know that something bad is coming.

The Word

Warning: Spoilers
I like horror and witchcraft and Satanic stuff on TV shows, but this was just boring. The ending did leave me wondering what will happen next, but all the flashbacks and the Tim Robbins character, it just is not working right now.

This was bad storyline development for Castle Rock.
