Exploitative and cheap by Lifetime standards
phd_travel1 September 2019
There is a cheapo exploitative horror feel about this thriller that seems out of place for Lifetime. An aspiring model gets lured into a photographer's out of the way place where she is held and forced to do risqué stuff. It's tedious and monotonous.

Don't bother.

Try holding your breath and counting down from 100...with any luck you may knock yourself out and wake up after this stinker ends
Ed-Shullivan18 April 2022
The three main characters all play their roles reasonably well. The lead actress Lucy Loken never really shows any fear for her life while being imprisoned by a mad man videographer and his female accomplice. Yes, she tries to escape a couple of times but to no avail.

It is the same old same old ho hum "get er dun" time waster.

I give it a boring 4 out of 10 IMDb rating.

standard Lifetime
SnoopyStyle30 May 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Grace is desperate to be a model but refuses to do nudes. She answers an internet ad from Hunter Kelly and gets trapped into performing for a porn site.

This Lifetime movie is standard girl-in-trouble story. It would help if the girl is a better actress. When she tries to seduce Hunter, it doesn't come off as believable and Hunter comes off as dumb. Then the boyfriend does something even dumber by texting to Grace's phone and thereby alerting her kidnapper. Also the movie needs to show the steps where the boyfriend's computer friend found the porn site or else he's going to come off as a porn freak. As for Nicole, it's unreasonable for her to believe in Hunter's pathetic lie about the other girls. It would be much more compelling for her to be also a murdering psychopath. As for her prison, it can't be a room with windows and stuff. Obviously, it's just a house and they're working with limitations. Finally, the rescue is too uncoordinated. The boyfriend is too reckless. At the very least, he should tell the mother just in case he fails. The ending has limited tension anyways.

Warning, avoid this garbage at all cost!
psxexperten8 October 2019
I am a veteran of low budget film watcher, 35+ years experience in watching them, and I have seen many films with HALF the budget of this which have been much better than this (not to mention half the trash that Hollywood spews forth every year). Words cannot express how horrible this movie is. Script non existent as well as a plot. Bore yourself to death. Worse Than Passing a Kidney Stone. Are the actors even human? The list really does go on. The mystery will forever baffle me. Yet oddly depresses me too.

Pretty much the worst film I have ever seen. I did sit through it because there's a lockdown and I'm really bored but this is just dreadful.

With a plot as watertight as a colander, and cast comparable to pre-school plays, I'm surprised there are no Oscars awarded to this title!

How not to make a movie 101!
poj-man25 January 2023
Warning: Spoilers
The main step in how not to make a movie is to not utterly destroy all suspension of disbelief belief before the title credits have ended!

The main character who professes having wanted to be a model since she was a wee little girl is absolutely clueless about modeling!

She wants to be a top global model but doesn't even want to show a bare shoulder?

She's wanted to be a model her whole life...yet in her whole life she has developed ZERO contacts!

The scriptwriters have no idea how modeling actually works (despite the standard "inspired by a true story" tagline)

Every line of dialog is spoken like a wooden tree is speaking it.

No one actually does a layout for anything like a magazine. They all talk in nebulous terms of "modeling" but nothing even remotely close to any factual business dealings occurs.

My god this one is awful!

Sh'tFlix strikes again.
Birminghamukengland23 November 2020
This is a channel 5 afternoon movie dressed as an 18 and changed the name on Netflix. Absolutely dire. If I never see another Lifetime movie again it would be too soon.

Pretty good for a Lifetime flick...
deedrala26 July 2019
Warning: Spoilers
...but very confusing at the end when Nicole either stabbed him (intentionally) or herself (accidentally)? It didn't make it clear who got stabbed - her or him?? When he came staggering out the front door, there were no stab wounds on his body, and he had the knife Nicole had used... Again, confusing. Also, the clerk/salesgirl at the shop they went to should've stood there on the sidewalk and gotten the license plate number before they drove away and called the police to report the shoplifting by Grace, since that was obviously why she had stuck the item in her pocket.

Why does Marvista Entertainment consistently produce one garbage after another? As usual the basic story line is pretty good. But the script, the acting the screenplay are plain and simple diabolical. Moral of the story: avoid this codswallop!

Waste of Time
manuelmiller-627586 April 2020
A complete wastage of money and time. Many of the scenes are out of place and not correlating with each other. I advice you to watch a pre-school play with your kids rather than this boring and baseless plot.

Just What I Thought It Would Be; Trash
dommercaldi7 January 2021
Cons: 1. The sound mixing is inconsistent with some of the sounds and moments of dialogue sounding as if they were added post-production. 2. The lighting is mostly artificial, and it gives the film a really ugly and cheap look. 3. The stock rock soundtrack feels overused and out-of-place, and it's obvious that it was all they had, because all of the songs come from Modern Time Machines. Furthermore, the ominous score is really overbearing and annoying. 4. All of the characters are bland, uninteresting, and wholly one-dimensional. 5. Every single performance is either really wooden or way over-the-top. Obviously the actors weren't helped by the woeful script. 6. The pacing is far too fast in the sense that it doesn't allow for any in-depth look into the characters and the goings-on. However, the pacing also drags as multiple needless plot-points are added in for extra drama. 7. None of the scares work, they're unintentionally hilarious and they're lazily inserted. 8. The gore is very rarely shown, which is strange for a thriller rated 18, but when it is shown, it looks awfully fake.

Have seen much worse okay film!!
chloegalley11 November 2020
A model kidnapping is based on true events. Grace aspiring model is kidnapped by a fashion photographer. The movie started off really slow and it did get better as it went on. The acting was okay, storyline was good but could have been better there was no suspense at all. Overall the film was okay I have seen much worse. It's streaming on Netflix at the moment. I certainly won't be watching it again.

neither good nor bad
NijazBaBs1 June 2020
Good is the looks, meaning model looks like real model, mother like real mother, gentleman like real gentleman, house of employer like real house of rich people, policeman looks real too. Huge effort in looks including makeup. Also job hunting and first meeting look positive, real, convincing. Also good use of some science, topic, and background feelings. There is insight into being naive and feelings of lust, hope, trust, betrayal, desperation. But bad is the boredom, too much talk, too closed environment, and typical ending. Only bit of twist naer ending was not typical but neither clear. Bit funny talk in form of threats. Still much worse than similar movies like Stalked by my doctor.

vallonella16 November 2021
The only positivity of this thing is that it perfectly shows how dangerous can be the internet and fake "agencies". Btw I know from the begining what's going to happen, so it was boring for me but not a total wast of time! BUT the clumsines of Grace made me crazy...

Really stupid film and bad acting
topsi9110 June 2023
The actress is pretty, but that's all about the film. For 90% of the time, the film seemed so chill and boring, the storyline so stupid and unbelievable, and at the end almost turned into a horror movie hahahha it seemed like one of those hallmark films, till the last 10 min.. such a stupid, pointless film, for real and SO predictable.. an absolute waste of time.. and the acting from everyone was so poor and not convincing.. this is a bad low budget film that deserves to be forgotten lol. I hope its not based on true story, because its truly horrendous... Typically I like films with similar stories, but this one is a no go.. too bad cos with this pretty actress it had potential, but they missed out on it entirely..

Worst. Acting. Ever.
Did they just choose people off of the street for this one? The acting was soooo bad. I sat and made fun of it, Mystery Science 3000 style. Do not watch this. You have better things to do. Trust me.

Saving Grace
lavatch6 April 2020
Warning: Spoilers
In "Trapped Model" (a.k.a., "A Model Kidnapping," a.k.a., "Model Murders"), Grace is an aspiring model, who answers an add for an all-expenses paid trip to Miami to work with a photographer who promises to make her a star. Grace's first reaction is that the offer seems just too good to be true. She should have trusted her instincts because the offer was indeed too good to be true.

The young model is kept in captivity by a psychopath named Hunter Kelly of the Model Matchup agency. But Hunter is a sick con artist who works out of his home, using the soundproofed guest house as the torture chamber where he films his captives on a live streaming feed.

Grace's caring mother and her boyfriend sense that something is amiss when Grace does not contact them. With no help from a useless police detective, the mom and the boyfriend are on their own to locate Grace.

The film was extremely unpleasant in the situations in which Grace is treated by her tormentor. While the actress playing Grace did an admirable job of playing the feisty victim, the film was too much of a downer with Hunter being a villain of the most despicable variety. One of the more interesting secondary characters was his consort Nicole. One kept waiting for Nicole to bond with his victim in the guesthouse. But, saving Grace was left to the heroic actions of others, as Nicole provided too little too late to the trapped model.
