Classic NCIS

Really enjoyed this episode! Always great to see Fornell and who'd have thought we'd ever hear Gibbs sing!

Third Wheel

Warning: Spoilers
This wasn't a bad episode of NCIS at all. The problem is there was about 10 minutes of interesting story. The ripped from the 70's headline of someone evading the cops and parachuting off a plane never to be heard from again was a refreshing premise.

But you had Fornell, and Nick sexually harrassing Bishop, and just a mess of other problems.

C130 NOSE WHEEL WELL
llornikon19 November 2022
Warning: Spoilers
First the guys finger was locked in the NLG unlock, so the only time it would get there is on take off that means the nose gear would have show unsafe gear on take off. There is only room barely on the side where the blood was, if there was 2 people the other side is smaller because the lox convertor is in the way. And there is electrical equipment in that space as well. If they jumped when the gear doors opened there is only about 12" to crawl through with a 300 knot wind pushing against the nose tires. Plus when the nose tires go up into the well, with his hand being stuck in the unlock he would have been crushed. And the gear would be hanging in there airstream. All this i know because I'm a c130 mechanic and I've worked all aspects of this aircraft for 40 years in the Airforce.

NCIS meets Deliverance!!

It was a decent episode. Not happy with all the new characters that keep coming in. I have never missed an episode and have made peace the show will never be what it was in the Ziva day's. NCIS is still better than most of the new shows. BUT much of this episode seemed like the writers phoned it in.

First Ziva left, then Tony, now Abbie. Gibbs looks about 90 and Abbie's replacement is beyond dreadful. Who watches this ?

Changes needed

Better episode than I expected, but I feel strongly that there are very weak characters, that serve little purpose. Nick, Sloane and the Abby replacement need to go. Personally, I like Bishop. They can always bring Tony back. Yes, I said it. If Bull tanks, I'd get him back.

Not a bad one!

When it comes to "Third Wheel", it's a watchable one. There are some good action scenes and its directed well. Sadly the story is very predictable (as soon as Gibbs, Phil and Fornell saw the woman, I knew she was guilty). and it felt that the writers were playing it safe and not taking many chances with the script.

Overall, an okay episode.

Main plot has a big hole.

Warning: Spoilers
The investigation quickly reveals one fugitive but we later learn it was a couple on the run. I record episodes on my DVR and often hit "rewind" to rewatch earlier scenes to answer my questions. However, there is no explanation how Jane "spotted the parachute" but never found the nearby backpack full of money that her partner had. It takes about a minute after finding the parachute for Phil, with Gibbs and Fornell, to find the money. Ridiculous. Why didn't Fornell stay with Phil anyway? Gibbs prefers to work alone and ALWAYS has the advantage in the wilderness. I had previously watched the season 17 episode featuring Phil's character and it was mentioned that he was responsible for injuring Fornell at the cabin. Well, that's not really true. I don't see a former FBI agent (Jane/Anna) attempting to shoot two people while falling backwards while being tackled (Phil). Not just one shot either and it's the second shot that hits the tree next to Fornell, causing his injury. It's like watching "The Three Stooges." I can't believe how many scenes in NCIS and some other crime dramas are not believable. "Elementary" and "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" are the most solid of all modern crime dramas. "Criminal Minds" had A LOT of problems.
