Fun and charming.

3 out of 5 stars.

Second episode continues with Emily adjusting to the life in paris. While her coworkers are hard on her.

Cute and fun performance by Lily Collins. But very cliche.

This episode was not bad either, the "vaga jeune" was hilarious. The part in the restaurant was cute finding out the handsome, flirty chef was her neighbour (small world). Then came the brand invitation only party. It looked beautiful. Everything happened was predictable, because it followed the stereotypical Parisian's joie de vie, and American's success brings happiness. Overall , it was enjoyable.

I loved Emily and her adventure in Paris. i don't know anything about nor Paris neither French culture in daily life but it looks good. Also, some parts or some conversations aren't realistic sometimes but i loved it for fastly and lively.

They may run out of ideas, and I'm not crazy about the show being so romance driven, but so far so good. Lily Collins is really excelling in this role.

I like the bit where the boss is rude and mean and stuck up

The second episode is an improvement but it really does continue with the French stereotypes.

Emily's personal love life hits the buffers. Her boyfriend does not come to Paris to see her.

On the other hand, Emily impresses a client when her social media campaign goes viral. A play on words that hits the spot with the French first lady.

At the moment, it is light and fluffy. I expect there will be little of substance though in future episodes.

A bit of.... fish-y.

This episode somewhat oozes superiority and haughtiness, but it wasn't from the French perspective just. The linguistic imperialism and a passable show of primacy reminds us of the horseshoe theory which feels very prominent in this episode.

Warning: Spoilers
Emily goes jogging in a white crop top with holes and leggings. She tweets a photo of a statue. When she gets back to her place she climbs one set of stairs and immediately tries to unlock the door. A man opens it and Emily apologizes again. He is a bit flirty asking Emily if she wants to live in his apartment. She climbs back up the stairs to her suite. After she gets changed she goes downstairs where she steps on dog poop. She goes to work and speaks with her boss who tries to correct her pronunciation of De L'heure. Emily complains she is not French and cannot pull off the je ne sais quois slouchy sexy look her boss has with her black simple dress. She goes to the party dressed in black and looking beautiful. She meets a man who is in charge of De L'heure. Later he flirts with her at the bar where he dabs perfume on her. He asks her what it smells like and he replies to him it smells like expensive sex. He tells Emily she needs to experience with a French man in bed. Later we see Emily ask her Chinese acquaintance if she was serious about dinner. Emily takes her to a restaurant down the street and she dislikes that her steak is medium-cooked. She complains and the chef comes out. It is none other than her flirty neighbour. She immediately tells him it is perfect and tries it. She cannot believe how good it is. The Chinese girl explains she is from China where her father is the king of zippers. She was expected as his only child to take over the family business. She moved to Paris for business school then dropped out. Her dad cut her off and she has been a nanny ever since. She grew up with nannies and now she is one. At the park where the Chinese girl is babysitting, they have a friendly conversation. I love the vibe of the Chinese girl, it feels like she is a supportive friend. At work, Emily is given the cold shoulder by her boss. Her boss tells the man who comes in saying De L'heure wants to work with her that Emily has been assigned Vaga-Jeune, a product for vaginal dryness in older women. Her boss sabotaged her because as the black guy informs her, her boss is that man's mistress. The Chinese girl says it is normal because the French know they do not want to have sex with one person forever. His wife probably has her own lover.

Something about this episode tickled me so much I'm eager to go visit ASAP! The episode itself was emotionally satisfying and set up some enticing dominoes. Très bon !
