Bleak but, I believe, truthful
frukuk6 December 2023
Rather bleak subject matter with an excellent central performance by Sian Brooke as Stephanie.

I don't know for a fact that this film faithfully portrays the challenges faced by those with eating disorders, but it is certainly very convincing. The constant battle to "force" oneself to eat when not doing so is what you're drawn to and the sense of never being able to leave the illness behind.

This film is well written, directed and acted. But it is rather bleak and I'm not sure who would "enjoy" watching it. You could consider it to be educational but, if you really want to know about eating disorders, you'd probably be better off hunting down a documentary.
