So so bad
paulymaxwell5 August 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Who'd have thought that an alien invasion could be fought off with a couple of Roman Candles and a sparkler. What a dreadful movie, don't bother. And the "acting", everyone in this film should be forcibly made to watch it on repeat until they relinquish all ambition to appear in anything except a haemorrhoid advert from now until the end of time

What on earth would compel someone to actually finance such indescribable crap, is beyond me.

Under no circumstances watch this movie it is 2 hours of your life you will never get back it's possibly the worst movie I've ever seen in my life if I could have given it a minus ratings I would have the acting is terrible the story line is even worse there is not one redeeming thing I can say about this film. I tried my best to watch the entire film but it just got more ridiculous as it went on sorry but I had to give up on it after 50 minutes

Awesome badass Air Force Lt Col Lady! Hahaha! Butt at least they had tons of American flags portrayed appropriately! And the boy child has mastered the Cheesy Grin, he actually should receive an Oscar for maintaining it in the face of one of the worst movies ever!

pitchforks
SnoopyStyle2 March 2020
An alien spaceship arrives over Washington wanting something back. The president's helicopter crashes near a remote community. The survivors fend off alien soldiers who are looking for an alien device.

The Asylum is doing Asylum. This is cheap sci-fi junk. Apparently, aliens have super shields except around their necks. Million dollar missiles are worthless. What we truly need is a ten dollar pitchfork. Let's stock up the pitchforks for the army. It's not the size of the production but the limitations in the writing. Just when it's all grinding to an end, the movie has to throw in a space octopus. This is bad.

Just awful!
austrohungaro17 August 2018
Yes, I know I almost wasted 2 hours of my life but once I started I couldn't leave it because I guessed the end had to be "brilliant"... and it was! (in a trashy way of course).

Did anyone noticed that where the kid gets the lightbulb from his father ('cause it's a blooming lightbulb) it breaks and at least half of it falls to the the ground?

Completely forgettable
Leofwine_draca20 January 2019
Warning: Spoilers
ALIEN SIEGE is yet another alien invasion-themed dud from The Asylum, perhaps riffing on the recently-released INDEPENDENCE DAY sequel. Aliens arrive and proceed to blow up many American landmarks in various cheesy CGI scenes, while the human cast members run around a lot and supply melodrama. It's silly, simplistic stuff, the same kind of film that the Asylum have done to death in the last decade, with nothing at all to make it stand out.

Don't watch it
anasselmansouri-7026816 September 2018
Lol this movie is garbage. Sorry but it's a waste of time. The acting is soo terrible so are the special effects. In the first 10 minutes you will see how they managed to make the white house look destroyed and you'll figure that this movie is absolutely not worth a minute of your lives.

Its so bad its great (not good, great!)
howardshotz27 July 2020
OK it only takes about three minutes into this movie to realize you were seeing something truly awful. But at the same time it is so amazingly awful that you do nothing but laugh the entire time. The other brave souls who have commented here have done a fantastic job pointing out all its flaws. I however, will focus on what it does well - It makes you laugh! You will laugh so hard that you will watch this movie over And over. The expressions on their faces are so amazingly devoid of actual emotion that you think the aliens are the better actors. I cannot express my sheer joy at watching this movie because I can think of nothing else while I am laughing! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

So bad it is almost good.
davefalcon1 August 2018
You know when a movie is soooo bad that it is almost good. Well, this is one of those movies. It's up there with Plan 9 From Outer Space,.

The dialog is cheesy the special effects are not so special and the acting is ridiculous. I laughed throughout the movie.

Child's Fantasy

This movie is a child's fantasy. The President of the USA is suddenly alone with you. You impress him with your genius. You save... something. Maybe the movie.

Omg what have I just watched
sarkie-shaz30 August 2019
I can not believe what I have just watched, my eyes hurt, my brain hurts the thing was so goddam awful I had to watch it until the end just to see the full horror. I'm guessing somebody had a spare 50p to use up so they decided to make this thing. For the love of god I'll give you your 50p back just to get it off the air. Please writer's the next time you want to make a film get in touch and I'll give you a few unprofessional pointers on how not to traumatise an audience. I will never be able to unwatch this diabolical excuse of a movie it is forever burnt onto the inside of my eyeballs

The aliens want it
nogodnomasters26 August 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Asylum disaster films have the same basic plot. 1) World coming to an end. 2) A family tries to reunite during the event 3) Family saves the world.

In this case, it is aliens. Some of the films are so bad it is good, or like this one, so bad it is bad. They did have an African-American President which is more believable than the African-American Senator from Maine, Asylum once used.

Might want to take a pass on this one.

What do they do? Write a script in a few hours, hire a local for the filming and get a kid with a cheap PC to do the SFX.

Very forgettable
nrolens15 August 2020
I sat thru this travesty simply for the humor I found in how bad this was. There are editing mistakes that a child could spot. The actors seemed as if they were reading straight from the script. Its one of those movies that incorporated other movies scenes into Its own storyline. The white truck in one shot was a Chevy doulee and the next it was a Ford. No continuity. The mom cries the entire movie. The colonel is so non-colonelish that it's humorous. It's a movie you can watch just to point out and laugh at the mistakes.

WORST ACTING IN ANY MOVIE EVER
zjctdqm21 July 2021
These actors should be removed from Hollywood. Revoke their actors license. I just wasted 2 hours of my life painfully watching this terrible movie. THIS IS THE WORST MOVIE I HAVE EVER SEEN.

One target that misses...catastrophically
TheLittleSongbird10 April 2019
Will say right now, was not expecting much from 'Alien Siege', although there was something about the premise that semi-intrigued if more to see whether anything at least okay level can be done. It did look bad and sounded like it would be ridiculously and lamely executed. But my main reason was to see whether it would be an Asylum film that was marginally watchable (which has only happened like three or four times perhaps with them) rather than their usual very mediocre at best and often dreadful standard.

By The Asylum standards, 'Alien Siege' is not quite one of their worst (though close). At least there is a little unintentional laughter at times rather than the usual constant groans and cringes, though they are there too aplenty. That is not saying an awful lot though, as 'Alien Siege' is still awful in every single way with no saving graces other than the fleeting novelty value. Just to make things clear, am not biased against low-budget films, or of the genre the film fits under. Have seen my fair share of guilty pleasures that were made on a modest or less budget and there are films of that budget that still manage to overcome budget limitations and execute other elements well enough to be passable at least. 'Alien Siege' is not one of those and personally do feel, and am feeling apologetic about this, that that it's low budget is not an excuse for such low quality. This is an example of a film that was a non-trier, one that looked as if no effort or heart went into it, hence the lowest possible rating here scored (rarely give them out these days).

Visually, although not the worst-looking film from The Asylum, 'Alien Siege' looks incredibly cheap even for something made on a low budget. It's very drably and sometimes dizzyingly shot, incoherently edited (bacon-slicer-like) with glaring and unforgivably sloppy continuity errors and even the scenery doesn't make much impression despite being actually the least bad aspect of the film. Saying the special effects are less than special is insulting, they are some of the most laughable and pathetic-looking special effects to be seen on celluloid, actually looking they were done as an afterthought and on the small remainder of the money they had left.

Music is intrusive, monotonous and repetitive, music is very important for me to talk about when reviewing something and it really wasn't pleasant hearing music that gave you earache and nausea. The sound is poorly balanced and borderline creepy. The dialogue is utter gibberish and truly childish, almost like there wasn't a script at all. How it was approved beyond first draft is beyond comprehension.

There is absolutely nothing thrilling, tense, suspenseful, emotionally investable or fun about the story. The predictability may have been forgivable if the film was actually engaging let alone exciting but it fails to be either throughout. Lets not get started on how insultingly nonsensical and ridiculous it is, things similarly are so vague and confused that coherence was also a major issue in places. Any conflict had no urgency, imagination, fun or menace at all, it was all just dull and dumb, with dizzingly shot and edited action that lacked any kind of energy, enjoyment or tension.

As sort of expected, there are illogical and irritating character behaviours that makes one endear to them even less in a film with not one interesting or rootable character. There is not one halfway decent performance either, almost like they weren't even trying or didn't know what their lines were or what to do with them. The threat not only looks cheap, they are not threatening or menacing at all, they are not even interesting...basically nothing.

Summarising, very lousy and that is me saying that in a slightly generous mood. Catastrophic mess more like. 1/10

Awesomely Bad
jrstubbins23 August 2022
I never imagined that I'd ever see a movie with worse special effects than Attack of the Killer Tomatoes, but now I have.

Complementing the kindergarten FX were the most inane script and ham-fisted acting performances possible.

I gave it 5 stars for the F350 truck, very nice, and 5 stars for the alien octopus - I laughed so hard I nearly put a rib out.

Nothing else was worth a single star and watching this movie in its entirety was definitely not worth the 12 weeks I had to do in therapy to get over it.

An enjoyable couple of hours
turnbull5023 May 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I enjoyed this film for what it was. Just a bit of fun. The acting was fine from a bunch of unknown actors.just don't expect Oscar performance and enjoy what is is. I loved the idea of fireworks stopping the aliens and seeing a bad CGI octopus at the end was a treat. Anyway the good guys win and the bad guys lose. Nice touch having an Alien Brand Laptop.

Kill 'em with a Catherine Wheel
greenheart19 August 2018
Not good ratings on IMDB, my secret confession is I kind of enjoyed it. Yes, it's low budget, it has the least presidential President I've ever seen portrayed, the acting is average and the plot ludicrous. But I still kept watching it in a, this is just plain amusing kind of way. The aliens are not original and look like the general public looks to me when I take my glasses off and they appear by somebody rubbing what looks like a snow globe. A poor man's Independence Day, why do alien attacks always happen over Washington? why not a little village in Denmark? My quote of the movie came from The President "Protect yourselves, if I go down it will be chin up." Inspirational stuff!
