Original, riveting, uncompromising and unusual horror-thriller
LesFilmsAuteur18 November 2019
It's a movie that isn't easy to classify, as its creative and artistic vision slowly unfolds in a powerful, unforeseen climax. It tackles multiple themes that go beyond a conventional horror-thriller, posing challenges and debate that touch upon religion, violence and the downfall and decadence of contemporary society. Centered around a likable, innocent and lively little boy, who mysteriously appears in a nondescript town as a ballet dancer -- it depicts the rise of an unlikely antagonist who is destined to be the Chosen One in his relentless pursuit of Evil. Mainstream critics looking for an easy Hollywood hook and premise will be disappointed, as this movie conveys an original, often brilliant, and uncompromising film d'auteur approach that should appeal to moviegoers looking for a compelling and memorable indie film.
