Strong Intense Episode
Hitchcoc27 November 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I see some of the reviewers only want to hear things they agree with. It's a bit like the conservatives in this country who are going after our elections and our democracy. Since others seem so touchy, there's my thought. Red is one character who expresses what he feels his taxes are going to. Oh, by the way, the racist stuff in these reviews is really sickening. I believe that Red feels without the complicity of the powers that be, his efforts to clean things up would not be necessary. This episode is about a woman who wants her hero husband's reputation restored. He became the victim of an underground drug group in the military. He was a Navy Seal. Her methods are really beyond the pale. We see those awful people led by Garvey joined with the man who Elizabeth has come to trust. This leads to severe consequences and the death of the man. But she makes a serious discovery as his body is dealt with on the street. Here we go.

Weak filler episode
foamythefearsome15 November 2022
I feel like after the powerhouse episodes surrounding Tom Keen, the series has added a lot of fluff. Most of it was very entertaining, but this one felt out of place in many ways.

The blacklister for one wasn't really a dreaded criminal, but an individual with a very specific revenge plan. It felt weird that they went after this person when compared to so many of the great criminals we've seen portrayed in this show.

Then there's the fact that the two storylines felt very disconnected. It felt like two individual stories, which is fine, but as a result, the blacklister storyline weakened significantly. The other storyline was kinda funny, but didn't really achieve much either.

And I suppose there's the political agenda pushing that people have mentioned I guess, which I also dont really like. I'm fine with political issues incorporated in episodes, but this one seems to have been made specifically to this end, rather than to entertain.

Politicization of TV shows
Lord-Palmerstone4 May 2023
Whilst I agree with many comments here - yes the scriptwriters should get off their 'leftie' soapboxes - but as they say in the UK, they are part of the 'luvvies' sector, so one cannot expect them to be any different. 'Birds of a feather' and all that ................

However even if Red's script was written by and for the 'lefties' he would, as a society rebel and criminal, moreover, an anti-gov't anarchist, have similar views and say something precisely like this.

I too would like to audit my country's finances and analyse why they waste so much public tax money and give contracts to friends, without mentioning their continuous lies and utter ineptitude ....

I love this show but....

I love how this show weaves everything together but, this episode had a political message that was totally unnecessary and didn't even make sense being there except to preach. Know your audience people! Your audience watches for entertainment not for political views. We have enough of that crap in our daily lives without having it force-fed to us when we want to escape it. Enough!

End

This episode did it. I can no longer stomach this show. NBC needs to stop pushing their political views on to the people who watch shows for the drama/action. Between the hypocritical actions of Red to the how completely unlikable Elizabeth has become, this series is over for me.

The hypocrisy blew through the roof on this one
DSPMachine13 April 2019
The show has always had a liberal slant, ridiculously carrying the anti-gun message while spraying the screen full of bullets nearly every episode, and making an appealing anti-hero of a mass murderer. Here he goes on a liberal political rant (while committing and planning to commit every sort of crime). Just the worst of several political Easter eggs in the episode. So now, having heard the message, I'm going to vote liberal ... well, OK, maybe not. Maybe just vote here on IMdB instead. What a waste of screen time.

Why are good shows ruined by politics?
lakesbus22 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Years of great, creative, unique plots and now Red asks an auditor why his tax money is being to "build a border wall, arrest marijuana smokers and finance jails that disproportionately house black people". The Leftist propaganda has infiltrated Blacklist. So sad.
