I was shocked to learn this is a legitimate sequel
jackgdemoss29 September 2019
Browsing Netflix I noticed a bank robbery film with a title similar to my favorite in the genre, Inside Man. I thought that it was a cheap trick to click-bait the name of a more famous film to draw attention, but I proceeded to give it a try anyways. To my disbelief, Inside Man: Most Wanted is the legitimate follow-up to Spike Lee's 2006 crime drama. My awe was compounded further by the vast difference in budget between the two films, which presents in spades with the CGI and hired talent of the latest installment. The story had enough going on that you couldn't guess exactly what the outcome was after 15 minutes, but not enough to overshadow its beaten tropes and TV crime drama feel.

I wanted the win
nogodnomasters28 September 2019
Warning: Spoilers
This is the unexpected sequel to the Denzel Washington "Inside Man." They mention his character and have his picture on the FBI wall. A group of Germans decided they are going to steal a bunch of Nazi gold from the Federal Reserve in New York. We get into the same hostage situation. Aml Ameen plays Remy, a cocky negotiator who is more like Will Smith than Denzel. Rhea Seehorn is Stewart, our FBI lead. She is no Jodi Foster. The bandits are led by Ariella Barash (Roxanne McKee) who is a complex character.

If you liked the first one and want to see it done again with different characters and a slight twist, this one will do.

Guide: F-word. No sex or nudity.

Terrible acting
dorianmusaj24 April 2020
The actors on the movie look like they feel the camera in front of them filming. Nothing to say more. The only reason giving a 5 star rating is for the attempt, but the movie itslef doesn't give you the feeling of even an average movie at all.

Most Boring!!!
Dimple6724 September 2019
This movie has no reason to exist. Exact same twist, horribly written, not well directed, and the movie looks bad. Flat lighting, bad color, and the acting is not good. You'd think with all the powerful software out there today, they could've tried to make the movie look good in post, but no it just looks flat and bland. Someone doesn't know what they're doing. Just watch the original with great stars and acting. No reason to watch a cheap remake with no name actors and bad cinematography and even worse finishing touches. This is lazy bad filmmaking from A to Z. And work on the scripts 1440. You can do better than this, all you have to do is try just a bit harder!

Slow Burn Initially But Final Thirty Minutes Offer Twists & Turns
larrys325 September 2019
Apparently I am better off not to have seen the 2006 Spike Lee original for comparisons sake, so that I did not know where this plot was going. Initially, a slow burn with confusing and convoluted plot elements, but in the final 30 minutes, things picked up considerably with a number of twists and turns that I thought were pretty clever.

Overall, the final parts of the movie made it a fairly decent watch for me, although I still was confused about a few of the plot machinations After the initial credits, there's a scene that helps explain it even more, so I'd say look for that.

Not worth it
rkbiker8924 September 2019
This felt like a lifetime movie. Writing was horrible and one dimensional, music/score was bad, lighting was bad, directing couldve been better.

the acting was also for the most part horrible with the exception of the girl from better call saul. accents for several of the actors were all over the place.

the original was leagues better than this one. they tried to tie it in as much as possible to the original but it just felt awkward.

you can easily tell it was a direct to dvd kind of movie. if you're really bored one night or on a plane with nothing to do it wont hurt to watch this but i wouldnt go out of my way to watch it

Brilliant heist plan & wait for the after scenes
shibal-0090222 April 2020
A typical heist movie but with some different way added in the heist plans. It's more like a home weekend movie piece.

At least I didn't have to pay admission.
ellic130 September 2019
There's a scene towards the end of "The Producers" where Zero Mostel says: I was so careful... I picked the wrong play, the wrong director, the wrong cast... where did I go right?"

That's not the case here. Bad script, improbable plot, bad acting. Ameen appears to be trying to do a poor cross of Will Smith and Eddie Murphy.

The best part of the movie was not having to pay admission

Worth a watch
drewowen8826 September 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Okey the first problem is in the opening scene showing a black soldier fighting in combat in 1945. Wrong the desegregation was in 1948 and the black's didn't start to fight in combat units until the Korean war. Other than that the Bank scenes were not bad had a few twists and the cast was good with the leed Rhea Seehorn. so its worth a watch if your like me and don't get to see her except fo Better Call Saul.

But I wasn't bored watching it. I enjoyed it, fortunately I didn't spend a nickel in the theater to see it.

Netflix flick
SnoopyStyle24 September 2019
This is an actual sequel to the 2006 Spike Lee movie Inside Man straight to Netflix. A group of Euro-robbers take hostages at the Federal Reserve in New York City led by a woman calling herself "Most Wanted". The FBI takes charge and Dr. Brynn Stewart (Rhea Seehorn) is assigned to lead. Smooth-talking NYPD hostage negotiator Remy Darbonne (Aml Ameen) joins the team. The robbers open up an unused part of the vault to find their intended target, Nazi gold.

This is mostly fine as a bank robbery capper. I like Seehorn and Ameen. They have good energy together. The robbers have interesting charisma especially the big guy and tiny girl. I don't really understand the Nazi gold aspect. Gold is gold and they're melting it anyways. I guess it's inferring that these are Nazis getting their gold back but Nazis stealing other people's gold would be just as good. It's a fine B-level movie which fits perfectly with having a quiet Netflix night.

another version of MONEY HEIST 85% same story line
ericachonde28 September 2019
I felt like I'm watching the other version of MONEY HEIST the serious on Netflix but this time they are in America. The stort line is almost the same with a little twist on it. But money heist is way better. They should have tried something extra different

Stands on its own
jcbclu13 October 2019
Warning: Spoilers
I was thrilled to find a sequel to Inside Man starring Clive Owen and Denzel Washington! I thought this sequel varied itself even though it mostly followed the formula of the original with some unique differences. But just like the first movie, I was left asking questions at the end as to what is this really all about? Thankfully, it leads to a third movie if someone decides to make it, and maybe then we'll finally get the answers we're looking for. All of the cast was amazing! Looking forward to the next one!

Not bad
battlecrusadersgames19 July 2022
There's not much to say for this remake/sequel. The story is essentially the same as the original Inside man, which means if you've seen that recently you'll know how it pans out, but as an individual movie, it's engaging enough. I wouldn't say it should win any awards but it kept me interested. The only real drawback was the acting, which felt more like a reality show than a movie. Still i think it deserves more than the low rating it has.

So bad, so lame
Hassel51223 November 2019
This remake is so bad, don't bother. Did no-one tell the main black actor he was not on a reality TV show. I just hope I never stumble upon him again! I gave it a 4 just because the cinematics were well done.

Inside man is not a copy of money heist
samanthaold-170722 January 2021
Remember that inside man was first made on 2006, if you watch the first movie, you can see how similar it is to money heist, don't get me wrong I love money heist, but please do your research before you look like an idiot.

Why?
flynner2126 September 2019
Takes the saying "Sequels are never as good as the original" to new heights.....or should I say new lows. The two mains cops are fine, everything else is just awful.

There are things that are left unanswered and in the air but as a whole the acting and directing are good especially Aml Ameen.

What a joke
giveital6823 October 2019
It's pretty sad that we make a movie pay homage to the original character and make it an all women cast to appeal to the generation of today destroy the classic

Good Sequel
nightringer-768405 October 2019
Low budget it is, but it is well made. Good story, a lot simpler than the original with less in depth characters' plays. I appreciate Spike Lee's direction even more after seeing this film.

It is a slow burner, but it is successful in building the suspense and attacting attention. This could be a a good stand alone film, but since the original was a Spike Lee's film, not easy to stand up to it.

Sequel after 13 years
Ayanm17 October 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Not sure why one would make a sequel after 13 years. But this specific heist template still works. I thought they'd steal liquid gold thru some pipeline; but no. 'Brass is gold'. Missed A.R. Rahman's music though. Also, they didn't show Clive Owen's face. Could be for another sequel.
