- Two instances of characters with breasts visible, a couple of views of female and male rear nudity, and in one instance a character pulls his pants down and exposes himself to a crowd in the school cafeteria; we see him from behind and his penis is visible hanging down between his legs, some instances of vulvas seen on phones as well.
- Characters have sex, with lots of movement and noises, however most do not feature nudity as characters are partially clothed, as well as talks about orgasms, positions, body fluids, masturbation, pornography and the like.
- We see a naked woman thrusting atop a man who is on his back. Nudity is limited to bare breasts.
- The opening scene of one episode is a montage of a high-school student masturbating constantly and ejaculating. There is a scene where he is masturbating in a car and his ejaculate is visible on the window.
- Two men are seen giving handjobs to each other. We do not see any nudity in this scene as its viewed from behind.
- In 1st scene a girl is shown topless with breasts bouncing.

- SO1 E2( SEXUAL CONTENT: 7/10) People simulate oral sex with bananas in a party and there's sexual dialogue throught. Sexual material, but milder than the predecessor episode.
Violence & Gore

- Some brief violent moments like fighting and bullying. Minimal blood.
- Violence has connections to bullying, including kicking and punching. Some violence is toward a LGBT+ teen. Bruises, abrasions, and some bloody noses are shown on just a couple of occasions.
- A character deals with self-harm in season 2 - not graphic.
- In one scene a cat is crushed and killed by a falling microwave, blood is shown.
Profanity

- Multiple sexual profanities such as "dick", "tits" and other sexual profanities and "fuck" and "shit" is also said a lot of profanities
- One use of "fag" in reference to a cigarette.
- Language includes "fuck," "shit," "damn," "hell," "piss" (for urinating). Sexual words are common: "tits," "cock," "strap-on," "spunk," "jizz," "hand jobs." A girl is called "slag" and "nympho," and a gay teen is called "fag."
Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

- Teens smoke cigarettes and drink whiskey and beer. Maeve and Aimee smoke a decent amount in season 1 but lessens in later seasons.
- The use of marijuana is present.
- A character is a drug dealer, and deals pills to local teens at a school dance.
- Two characters smoke mushrooms and get really high from them. They experience a lot of hallucinations.
- Underage drinking and drug use is casual and frequent. Teens smoke cigarettes and drink whiskey and beer. A teen shares a joint with the mom of one of his friends. A teen boy takes three Viagra in hopes of giving his girlfriend better sex.
Frightening & Intense Scenes

- There is a scene in one episode where a girl is sexually assaulted on a bus. But no sex implied.
- There are multiple scenes of bullying at the school, which could be triggering for viewers whom have been bullied themselves.
- The show is very emotional at times.
- A woman gives birth to a child and almost dies
- The ending of the show is quite emotional.

Sex & Nudity
- Season 3 opens up with a sex montage.
- Maeve and Otis have sex and all though there isn't much nudity there is a shot of Maeve's breast but only for a second.
Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking
- Maeve's mother is a drug addict. In Season 2 she returns after having left Maeve and her brother when they were younger, and tells Maeve she is clean. However, later on in the season she is found to have used drugs again and the drugs in question are shown, before she is taken away as Maeve reported her out of fear for her younger half-sister's wellbeing.
- Adam smokes weed

- A character gets assaulted on his way home from a show, due to being dressed in drag.
